@Reignmaker I love games that tell a story without giving me too many options! I even like the ones that are almost like a book. Like Steins;Gate! I do however enjoy puzzles, and even pretty difficult ones. I’m not the kind that gives up on a puzzle! I can stay awake all night if I need it.
I hope that means they are bringing background themes to the Switch! And maybe a stylus? And an art game and a drawing messaging app? That would be fun.
@Reignmaker I should mention two things that will help you understand my feelings of BotW a little better: I’m a huge Zelda games fan, my favorite Zelda game is Twilight Princess. I have very poor imagination, so much so that when I play Minecraft, I just build a square house to hide in, plant wheat everywhere and I feel like I completed the game. I have a house and food. Of course I could build something else, but it seems pointless, the results might be awesome but the road there is boring. It’s the same as cleaning the bathroom in real life, only cleaning the bathroom is also useful later.
I have to say, I like seeing the 3DS sales. I remember how much crap the 3DS had to take when it launched and how people claiming it would be a huge failure. I guess it's not so smart to make fun of Nintendo's handhelds.
I own both Breath of the Wild and Splatoon 2. They were both kind of disappointing to me.
I know I'm probably the only one, but Breath of the Wild is too "open" for me. I still haven't completed it, because I'm bored when I play. I can't think of anything to do, so I just scan my Amiibos...
Splatoon 2 kind of put me off, I loved the original Splatoon so much and the controllers on the Wii U version are so amazing. It's not that Splatoon 2 doens't have good controls, it's just that the original have so amazing controls.
And I miss Miiverse. I liked how it made it possible to discuss games with other people that are actually playing the same game as you. Let's face it, I don't know anyone on Twitter of Facebook or on Youtube that plays Nintendo games, so the new share feature is just kind of a waste...
I bought Super Mario Odyssey in the weekend and I got kind of pissed off, because some moves are almost impossible to pull off in handheld mode... I always use handheld mode when I play on my Switch, so I hope Nintendo consider this for future games.
It's great that Nintendo are having a good time selling games though, it's well deserved. They worked hard to make this happen. I'm happy for them. I might get Mario Kart 8 Deluxe in the end, but not right now. I own the Wii U version and I never really play it anyway.
I really hope they announce apps for the Switch, and maybe even something like Swapnote? They also need background themes. Seriously, I need something happy. That dead white background is just depressing. Not what I need to start my already sad days with. So give us some nice Pokémon, Splatoon and Zelda background themes with music!! That would all be awesome. I don't really have much faith that it will happen though. But Nintendo, I'm kind of ready to put my New 3DS XL away!
I'm a little depressed by the Switch. I got one for my birthday in March, but so far I haven't had any good experiences with it. Nothing. I've been using it just to make myself like it more, but it really isn't working. I hate the white depressing background and the lack of apps.
I've been playing Miitopia on my New 3DS XL lately and I am sad to say this, but the Switch does not measure up.
I'm a lonely kind of girl, without friends, and I have a very lacking imagination. The 3DS cheers me right up with nice music and rotating backgrounds and Miitopia does not require a large amount of imagination to be enjoyable. It's easily the best game I've played in a long time. It brings a smile to my face. No Switch game has done that yet.
This is okay, I see why Nintendo does this. It's slightly risky, considering they just launched the Switch, but as they will continue to support the 3DS and even more so the New 3DS it's kind of logical. They want to make New 3DS exclusive titles. The New 3DS is rather expensive, but The New 2DS is a cheaper alternative for those who never got a New 3DS because it was too expensive. Making everyone move to the "New 3DS / 2DS" will probably result in a good income for Nintendo. And there will be less complaints when they start launching titles exclusive to "New 3DS / 2DS". As Pokémon still only exists on 3DS-series maybe the next Pokémon game will require a "New 3DS / 2DS" and I think a lot of players would upgrade for Pokémon. Nintendo probably considers 3DS too different from the Switch for this to cause problems for the Switch. I also believe that parents might be more willing to buy their kid a "New 3DS / 2DS" than a Switch...
I have a New 3DS XL and a Switch. I really don't need one. I might have been interested if I never upgraded to "New 3DS XL", and still only owned a 3DS / 3DS XL... I'm assuming the "New 2DS XL" will support the "New 3DS" exclusive games, like Xenoblade Chronicles 3D?
I'm not sure if I'll be getting this, I'm sure it's a great game, I already own Mario Kart 8 on Wii U... But, if I'm not going to play online or someone I know gets a Switch and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, I don't really see the point... The battle mode does make it slightly more interesting though. But I'll be waiting until a good reason comes along. Just like I did with Mario Kart 7, I still haven't found that good reason...
I never thought about his last name before. But I've played a lot of Legend of Zelda games. I guess I haven't really thought about any Legend of Zelda characters last names... Maybe because it's not very relevant? Unless, some characters share a last name, someone unexpected? Maybe it's Link Dragmire? Goddess Hylia Dragmire?
I'd rather have Nintendo start making amiibo cards. I don't want more amiibo that takes up space, its seriously frustrating. I only own like 6 amiibo. I want some of the new Legend of Zelda amiibo's as cards. Let me by amiibo cards that takes no space at all! Or let me buy them digitally!
It's awesome, but I already knew that because I own the CitySlicker for the 3DS XL and the Suede pocket for 3DS XL, both from Waterfield Designs and they are both awesome.
It works! I've actually thought of a similar idea, but I never tried it, I haven't gotten very far into the game yet. So, I have not tried to cross any big lakes or oceans yet.
Yeah, I can see how Nintendo will release another version of the Switch, but not before another 6 months has passed. I've actually been thinking of it myself, knowing Nintendo it will happen. Maybe it will be something like the Switch mini. But it won't be called "the Switch Mini", Nintendo will definitely go for a more confusing name like "the 1DS" or "the New Switch" or maybe even "the New 1DS Switch"
Finally a Nintendo Direct! It feels like it's been forever since the last one. I hope they convince me that I need to buy all these new games that are coming out, like they did with the Wii U (I own many Wii U games I only got after seeing their awesomeness on Nintendo Direct) and it kinda happened with the 3DS too (I have a lot of 3DS games). Nintendo Direct really have made me try games I otherwise wouldn't, and I just want to say it's a good thing.
Bring it Nintendo! I only own 2 games for my Switch!
I'm still a hunter! I play everyday. Gotta catch that daily pokémon and get that daily pokéstop.
I only play more than 20 min once or twice a week though. But it's been winter and freezing cold, now that spring is here and summer is on the way, I'll be playing more!
That said, they need to bring in trading, battling (preferably with real moves!), EV training, maybe even natures and another generation or two.
It's probably an HD remake of the first game for either PC, XBOX one or PS4.
Bayonetta 2 won't be going to anywhere other than a Nintendo console.
I would be really cool to see Bayonetta 3 on the Switch though, and considering how well Nintendo made Bayonetta 2 happen, it's possible. At least I like to think so.
@invictus4000 yes, that's my thought too. Splatoon is a fun shooter, most people with find it amusing. It's suitable for most gamers compared to realistic shooters, that only targets a smaller group of gamers.
I ordered my Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild online, as it's a lot cheaper. The only other game I've gotten so far is Snipperclips, as I have many games on both a Wii U and 3DS that I have yet to finish. And I'm trying not to spend too much money.
People tend to go to GameStop first, where I live they might be sold out, but most other stores are not. It's just that if you're going to a store to buy a console or a game, people always go to GameStop first. But cheaper electronic stores around the corner have full stock. It's like the consumers haven't realized there are other stores that sells games and consoles. GameStop better try to keep it that way otherwise they might go out of business pretty soon.
Maybe I'm the weird one, but how can Twitter or Facebook compare to Miiverse? I don't want to post game related stuff on my Facebook account, the only people who would see that is my family (who hates gaming and they even try to talk me out of it) and cat breeders (I'm a cat breeder) and I don't think they want to know anything about any game ever, unless it's somehow related to cat breeding, family life or photographing animals (especially cats). Twitter is like writing random stuff on walls in public bathrooms. Anyone can see it, but you will never know who and most of them will not care at all.
I will never understand why people stopped discussing topics with other people who cares about the same topics and just started discussing them with random acquaintances from their private life instead on Facebook and no one or potentially everyone on Twitter...
@ThanosReXXX I've already seen so many hating Nintendo and their consoles, and the sad thing is that it seems the haters are the clueless ones. They haven't tried the consoles and games they hate so much. I think it's just what's trending right now. Hating Nintendo is trendy and cool and they don't have the guts to get their own experiences and opinions.
I was amazed how you can feel the texture of the ground you're driving on in Mario Kart 8. Like when you drive on the carpet in the mansion, you can really "feel" it. Maybe they will enhance that even more in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe? The HD rumble might be able to help with that. And when you're playing an open world game, maybe the HD rumble could enhance what kind terrain you're running on. Like how gravel is very different from soft grass. It should only be a hint though, so you almost don't notice but at the same time gives you a better feeling of the world you're in. That would be pretty cool.
More amiibo figurines I need... I hope some of these will be available as amiibo cards. I'm not sure I'll be buying more than 3, maybe 4 amiibo figurines this year. Then maybe if some of them could be bought cheaper and easier to store as cards, I would get some cards too.
I like it, if you can customise like you can on 3DS. And they better have Miiverse and Mii avatar pictures. Generally, I love Mii's. They are too great to get tossed away just yet.
