Re: Pokémon GO's Top Gym Defenders Have Just Been Nerfed As Part Of The Gen 4 Update

Phle

@Heavyarms55 I wouldn’t mind bringing the core game stats to Pokémon Go myself, I would consider that ideal, but I don’t think that’s going to happen anytime soon. There are too many of the players in Pokémon Go who are young kids, old people or just people who otherwise doesn’t play games. So I pretty sure they are go to keep it as simple as possible, at least for now.

Re: Steins;Gate Elite Is Getting A Western Limited Edition On Switch With Bonus Game Included

Phle

I’m hyped. I can’t get enough of Steins;Gate, I first played Steins;Gate0 on PS4 and I recently watched the anime second season on Crunchyroll. I think I saw the last episode 4 times. I just love the story and the characters, unfortunately I still haven’t seen the first season of the anime or played the first game. I’m really hoping that I’ll get that part in the Steins;Gate release on Switch.
I’m almost certainly getting this =)

Re: Pokémon GO's Top Gym Defenders Have Just Been Nerfed As Part Of The Gen 4 Update

@Heavyarms55 that’s why some classic walls need to get the defensive bulk they are meant to have. Skarmory is an excellent example, it’s equally difficult to get as chansey, as it’s rare and comes in 10 km eggs. It’s also a classic wall in core games. But right now Skarmory is ridiculously weak. Umbreon is the weakest eeveeloution, although it’s actually supposed to be a decent defensive Pokémon.

They don’t only need to nerf Blissey, they need to buff a lot of Pokémon. Almost no Pokémon is supposed to be strong overall, except for legendaries, and as long they aren’t allowed in gyms, they need more defensive Pokémon.

Re: Pokémon GO's Top Gym Defenders Have Just Been Nerfed As Part Of The Gen 4 Update

Phle

@Heavyarms55 yes, do agree without you.

However, I think there should be a difference between attacking Pokémon and defending Pokémon in Pokémon Go.

The defense and HP bulky Pokémon should be the best gym holders and the Pokémon with the best attack stats and super effective moves should be the best ones to bring them down.
I want to see strong wall Pokémon like Skarmory, Bronzong, Umbreon, Gastrodon and Slowbro holding gyms in the future.

Re: Pokémon GO's Top Gym Defenders Have Just Been Nerfed As Part Of The Gen 4 Update

Phle

@Heavyarms55 well, you know Blissey has the highest HP stat in the entire core series, not even legendaries come close. And not only that, Blissey has such a high HP stat, it’s the highest stat of any one category. Meaning no Pokémon has an attack/defense/speed that is as high as Blissey’s HP stat. To make up for that, Blissey has almost no physical defense at all, making it incredibly exposed to physical fight attacks. But it has a decent special defense and an unique healing move, making it a very good special tank.

I actually think it should require a lot of effort to take down Blissey, but that’s my opinion.

Re: Pokémon GO's Top Gym Defenders Have Just Been Nerfed As Part Of The Gen 4 Update

Phle

Well, these Pokémon were already incorrectly stat-wise compared to the core series.
We Pokémon Go players, at least the ones of us that plays the core games too, knew this was coming.
I mean, we KNEW about Rhyperior, and you don’t really have to be a genius to figure out that they would have to change Rhydon’s stats to add Rhyperior without totally tipping the scale.

That said Blissey is supposed to be one of the best special tanks out there together with eviolite Chansey.

And I know there isn’t any hope for World of Warcraft on Switch, but I would love to get the new WoW app on the Switch :3

I hate bringing up my phone all the time, it’s busy running Pokémon Go! Seriously, I can’t use my phone for anything anymore, I always play Pokémon Go and it’s a massive problem if someone calls me...
I recently bought an iPad to make up for Pokémon Go always running on my iPhone.

On top of that, Nintendo for some reason have this dilutional idea that people always have their phone with them and it’s ready to use for stuff like Nintendo online. Seriously Nintendo!? Of all companies, you should know that my phone is living in Pokémon Go land!

Re: Nintendo Wants To Be An Entertainment Company, Rather Than A Gaming One

Phle

I think this sounds pretty good. But they got to keep their games and their consoles fresh.

I really think they made the right choice when they didn’t port old games to mobile devices though, mobile games need different layouts and design to be fully enjoyed on a mobile phone or tablet, considering that they usually don’t have buttons and only touch controls.
They are also trying to reach people who aren’t necessarily “gamers” and that’s why mobile games should be especially designed to be mobile games.

Then again, what exactly stops Nintendo from making a gaming controller specifically for mobile devices? If it’s smart and portable, they could bring real gaming to mobile devices!

Re: Guide: The Best Pokémon Games - Every Mainline Pokémon Game Ranked

Phle

My one complaint with this list is: Why is Pokémon X and Y so far down? It’s was an amazing refreshing installment of the series and unlike Sun and Moon, it did not add the lameness, just fresh mecanics and mega evolutions, and is a very good overall game.
Pokémon X is my absolute most played game on the 3DS with a whopping 497 hours of playing.
I’ve played most of the DS and 3DS games with the exclusion of Pokémon HearthGold and SoulSilver, but at the time those games where released, I was too busy playing Pokémon Platinum. I should also mention that Sun / Moon and Ultra Sun / Ultra Moon gave me major issues with the horrible theme and I just haven’t been able to force myself through the entire games.

Re: Poll: Is Your Nintendo Switch Cracking Under The Pressure?

Phle

My Switch has been handled like it was made of glass, always perfectly careful and safe. Still, one of the top screws are missing and it gets a bit of static when it’s connected to the charger. It also gets pretty warm when I use it. I also have a small crack in the upper corner, I have no idea how this could have happened.
I’m seeing a lot of similarities with my Switch and the photos posted above.

Re: Nintendo Is Considering A Successor To The 3DS According To Its New President

Phle

@cyberlocc No, I see why you might think that, but that’s not the case for me. After owning a 3DS for a year I was dying to get more, I bought every game and spent every opportunity to cuddle up in bed and play. The Switch has given me the exact opposite effect, I kind of force myself to turn on and I end up putting it away pretty fast. So far I’ve only been happy with 5-10% of the games I’ve gotten. Oxenfree is the only game that totally got me, and I enjoyed The Count Lucanor and Timbleweed Park too. I have so many games for the Switch it’s really sad to say that none of Nintendo’s own games managed to impress me.
The Wii U is still above The Switch for me. I have yet to fall in love with The Switch. I even think the Splatoon game on Wii U was better than the Switch version, as the Wii U had the best controls I’ve ever tried in a shooter.
Maybe it’s worth adding that I always use the Switch in handheld mode, and it’s kind of heavy and uncomfortable to hold with my tiny hands, so I bought a stand for it, but I’m still not amazed.
There might be a chance for Nintendo to turn it around, but I’m starting to get a bit worried.

Re: Nintendo Is Considering A Successor To The 3DS According To Its New President

Phle

My all time favorite console is the 3DS (I have owned several models and I currently have a New 3DS XL Majoras Mask Limited Edition).
I own a Switch and I got it at launch, I use it quite a lot, but it doesn’t come close to the 3DS when I think about all the amazing gaming experiences I’ve had on the 3DS. The 3DS was the console that really turned me from a Nintendo supporter to a hardcore Nintendo fan girl.

Nintendo could do well with testing some proper DS family vs Switch family competition.
Remember how the 3DS left the PS Vita to die? Kind of like how the original DS left the Game Boy to die.

It’s valuable to know how your own products preform against each other. That way you can create the ultimate handheld console and blow all other handhelds away for the next 10 years and maybe even longer.

Re: Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aimé Hits Back At Analysts After Recent Share Price Drop

Phle

I think Reggie hits the spot with this comment.
Nintendo has their own way, and it does usually work out pretty well, I think we should have some faith in them.

Still, I agree with the people saying E3 is the time to “surprise big”, it’s really a time when you have the everyone watching.

I was overall a bit bummed by this years presentation, although Super Smash Brothers did take my breath away.

Re: Video: Let's Revel in Nintendo's Best E3 Moments from History

Phle

I didn't even watch the E3 in 2004, but I think still understand these moments pretty well. Twilight Princess still is my favourite Zelda game (I actually kind of hate Breath of the Wild, I guess I'm the only one) and I always love to watch the entire Wii intro (in the Wii version they have a cut-scene after the first part of the intro that has been removed in the HD version). I also really like the music and feeling they managed to capture in Twilight Princess. For me, Twilight Princess is my favourite game of all time. I liked Wind Waker too, more that I thought I would, but that game just didn't have the music and the amazing color palette they featured in Twilight Princess. I love the gloomy kind of dark colours, it really adds to the story. And for me, the story is alway a very big thing in games, I have no imagination, so I love when I don't have to try to pretend at all. I want the game to give me the actual experience, not just let me imagine my own thing, because that never works for me.

And I miss Iwata, he always had such and amazing way to see things and he knew how to share those views with others, he was truly amazing.

Re: Poll: Who Would You Rather Have By Your Side In Pokémon Let's Go? Pikachu Or Eevee?

Phle

I don’t think you’ll be able to evolve your starter.
So what it can evolve into in other games are really irrelevant.

That said: why go with some of the most overused and downright worn out cute Pokémon?
Why not bring in some of the other cute Pokémon from generation 1?
They could let people choose Jigglypuff, Magikarp, Slowpoke, Gastly or Dratini this time!
I personally would have preferred all those 5 to Eevee or Pikachu.

Choosing between Eevee and Pikachu will probably be a battle of who I’m the least annoyed by, and considering how fast Eevee becomes dull, I will probably go with Pikachu. To some people Eevee is “different & new”. I’m not one of those people. Actually, I feel like I run into Pikachu way less than Eevee in Pokémon games.

Re: GameStop Has Leaked 10 Unannounced Full-Price Switch Game Listings

Phle

Nintendo has me playing World of Warcraft inside even though it’s super sunny outside and I could be playing outside on the balcony with Wi-Fi. I finally gave in and bought an iPad because my 3DS and Switch feels dead and I wanted to draw on a screen. I just stopped playing Wii Fit U in favor of the Daily Yoga app. Do I need to say anything else!?
Make me hyped Nintendo, for something that’s coming this summer! And please give us background themes for the Switch! I can’t live without happy backgrounds!
My mind and wallet are ready.
