Re: Blizzard Has No Plans To Add Cross-Platform Progression To Overwatch Right Now

Peterjr1

Ugh I really want this on Switch as I dont have much opportunity to play my xbox anymore but I really don´t want to start again with my collection of Hanzo and McCree skins. I don´t want crossplay but cross progression should be a no brainer in this game and the only reason it´s not present is so they can hopefully charge people for lootboxes to bulk their collections up again

Re: Report Suggests Nintendo Doesn't Want To Overdo Mobile Microtransactions

Peterjr1

Yes, releasing a bunch of gacha games at rapid pace (FEH, Dragalia Lost, Pokémon Masters and Mario Kart) which are gambling games through and through with age ratings of 3+ for PM and MK is absolutely a sign that they don't want to 'overdo' microtransactions.

This is pure bs. Nintendo don't want the stink that gacha games can kick up right now if people focus in on them because of how inherently predatory they are but they do want the absolute bank that they bring in. Theres a reason that none of the pre-release Pokémon Masters material shows anything to do with the summoning aspect.

Oh and how could I forget Animal Crossing Pocket Camp. A game where the entire gameplay is customisation and post-launch they introduced loot boxes for almost all customisation and plummeted down the amount of currency awarded by playing.

Nintendo are not the saints their PR makes them out to be, they make money though the same scummy ways that other companies do but no one complains.

Re: Play Pokémon Masters At Launch To Snag Useful Bonus Items

Peterjr1

@LordMolecule that means nothing. It's a game with gambling that doesn't have a rating befitting of a game with gambling because they want to make money off off encouraging gambling habits within young children. Whether it's 'free' or not means nothing. If EA had a specifically kid-focussed brand the size of Pokémon and they made a gacha game for phones with a 3+ age rating, you wouldn't hear the end of it.

Re: Play Pokémon Masters At Launch To Snag Useful Bonus Items

Peterjr1

So it's a guaranteed gacha game now right? So it's a game where the core function for obtaining characters is gambling? And it's targeted directly at children because Pokémon directly targets children as the target audience, right?

Will Nintendo receive backlash for this or will they go unquestioned despite the fact that if EA did this, they'd be dragged through the mud?

Re: Poll: Have Your Joy-Con Been Drifting?

Peterjr1

Have had to spend £120 replacing mine and my partner's main pairs (we mostly play handheld) and can't afford to replace our secondary pair. We tried all the home remedies suggested and none worked and it became impossible to play anything properly due to the severity. Easily the most expensive console I've had to date and really not impressed.

Re: Battle Brexit On Switch With Not Tonight: Take Back Control Edition

@Aquamine-Amarine I was referring to the commentors who are very right wing and nowadays that does often equate to bad. Most news sites tend to be ´left-wing´ because facts are seen to be a left wing concept nowadays

And referring to your bit defending Trump, he literally self-published a racist tirade on his twitter account two days ago.

Re: Is Game Freak "Recycling" 3DS Animations In Pokémon Sword And Shield On Switch?

Peterjr1

@TheBlue10 exactly. This same narrative runs its course for every game that has negative PR prior to launch and it only stops once the next game is on the horizon just to then be repeated if there is negative press for that one. Journalists are complaining, fans are complaining, the company is responding with a non-response response. This is more than just people complaining on message boards and a sign of a shift in the attitudes of a large swath of the target audience.

And before people respond that only children are the target audience: why then was most of the marketing for Let's Go about revisiting Kanto when most children now never experienced it in the first place? The idea that the company that lives off nostalgia isn't targeting teens and adults is beyond ridiculous

Re: The Witcher 3 On Switch Runs At 540p Portable, 720p Docked

Peterjr1

I NEED the portability nowadays and I've never got round to playing this before so im excited for it to come to switch. People are focussing on the 540p bit but that's specifically in portable. Xenoblade 2 drops lower than that and thats still playable (although it is noticeable when it drops as far as Xeno does). 540p on portable is fine and so long as frame rate is relatively stable this will be a great addition for switch.
