If this premise excites you, the good news is the title has just been announced for the Nintendo Switch. It was developed over a period of several years by a three-man team at Studio Nanafushi.
The gameplay is relatively straightforward - with the task being to defeat enemies, develop your character's skills, collect items, create powerful weapons and save the many areas around Tokyo. You can expect to fight a ton of enemies in a variety of action-packed locations.
At this point in time, a release date has not been announced. Take a look at the game's amusing launch trailer below and tell us in the comments if you would be interested in eventually playing this on your Switch.

Gameplay looks kind of janky, but the cheesy gore and shameless fan service got my attention.
It sounds...different.
Would buy it if it gets a physical release.
@Medic_alert Those are extremely generous comparisons Oo
That looks trash... All the Japanese SS anime games are the same
Is she always just in the left corner? Cause that's kind of annoying to look at
looks cool,I might get it
meh
She is not wearing a uniform cause she is saving kids it because she looks banging in it lol. Other than that game looks quite cool. I'm not sure if its going to be a endless loop kind of game or you know have a ending. Which is my only concern but hopefully it ends and has bosses etc, cause if it is endless loop than not for me!.
Someone wants to go to school badly
Looks like high school of the dead
@Medic_alert What about the artstyle is particularly "Persona", if I may ask? Just as the school/demon setting is a super common anime trope, so is the animation eagerly shooting for that widely used anime look ... actually, I guestimate that about every other game from Japan does this
Albeit most of them, if not all of them, do it worse than Persona. Still, if you compare a game to what most consider best-in-class, you are making not just a neutral comparison, but rather a compliment and I find this generous based on the trailer.
Plus, looking at the amount of titilation and fanservice, you might have been better off and certainly more accuarte to point to something like Senran Kagura, which ... yeah, strikes me an apt comparison, definitely more so than Persona. That's just me though.
@Djgoa That was my first thought, too
Well, the description sounded promising, but the trailer didn't grab me at all. A likely skip for me...
It seems interesting, but it's too violent for my tastes. Just because it's a zombie game doesn't mean there needs to be a huge amount of blood flying everywhere.
@Medic_alert add Contra and it'll be complete.
There's an updated trailer. The on in the article is from 2017, the 2018 one makes it look much better.

@djaxon0614 You're right, this YouTube trailer sold me on the game
Seems unique. I'll wait for more info.
@djaxon0614 that's a much better trailer, things look way more finished and the combat/cameras were changed considerably. Color me interested.
This looks appealing, but I'll wait for reviews. Hoping this is $20 or less.
Yup, totally getting this.
@Medic_alert Not quite literally no, but if you look at the indie/AA market .... then there is actually a really huge number of games, that make use of a very similar style and there is a whole subgenre (covering all kinds of traditional genres) for anime-girl-titelation of one sort or another. But no, my point wasn't that exactly 1 out of 2 games coming out of Japan can and should be compared to this, but there are truly plenty - and plenty that would be a much better fit ^^
I didn't mean to start an argument, but when I read such a nonchalant comparison to Persona (among others), well ... I gues it rubbed me the wrong way, seeing how many years of effort and hard work went into Persona - or to put differently, imho this here is really nothing like that.
Animation: Miyamoto (3:16)
OH so that's why we haven't seen Pikmin 4 yet. he's been working on this game.
silly jokes aside, i might get it it has that Borderlands feel to it with the intro of the bosses and a fallout feel to it because of how you customized the weapons to fight off zombies.
Finally a game that praises the value of good education!
Looks promising, especially if it has metroidvania elements to boot.
This looks like it has good plot....I'll buy it.
Yep, it's in my wheelhouse. But only a physical release copy.
I'm interested. It's hitting all the right notes with me.
Too creepy for me.
I am waiting for more ryona games to make their way to the Switch. That is the logical step after Gal Gun and this game.
@Ralek85 And that's where you should also probably watch out with comparisons. Comparing this to Senran Kagura would be an insult to Senran Kagura, just as much as comparing this to Persona is an insult to Persona (or extremely generous comparisons to both for that matter).
If you say Persona is best in class for what it does, well, Senran Kagura fills the same slot for what it does.
This game seems fun and all, but it's definitely extremely generous to compare it to either of these franchises.
@Blizzia Senran Kagura is a mediocre beat em up. This looks to be a mediocre beat em up. Comparison seems justified here.
@SMEXIZELDAMAN Spoken like someone who isn't into beat-em-ups and who hasn't played Senran Kagura games at all
The comparison is generous at best, and educate yourself if you're going to come with an opinion on stuff.
I'm not a big anime fan, or zombies for that matter, but this looks dope.
Looks like a cool Android game.
@tobibra Question. I see lots of people going towards physical releases, is this only to trade the card after completing the game? I’m only digital download so not sure what’s the reasoning behind all those requests. Thanks!
@Francema I like to own physical copies. Never sold or traded any title. If I buy it, it stays with me. And if something happens to my Switch, I can still play them on another Switch.
And it looks nice on the shelf.
@Blizzia But at least Senran Kagura is actually in part about titilating anime girls at it's core, isn't it? I'm not saying that this makes it a bad game, but it is part of the essential appeal of the game across several entries. It even translates to actual gameplay mechanics, which at the same time, are also actually a lot closer to this - by the looks of it - than anything Persona ever did or does.
So yeah, maybe it's still a more than generous comparison, but for that, I for one need to actually see more of the game or play. The fact that it's rightfully compared to Persona though ... that is something I dare say based on the trailer alone (unless that is utterly unrepresentativ of the final product, but that would be no fault of mine ^^).
@tobibra Thanks! I agree with the onshelf thing. Maybe I was too naive or inexperienced by expecting that Nintendo will honor my download games if something happens... I did not research that at all. Was just thinking on the simplicity of not changing cards when playing and not to loose them!
@Francema Its not really just about if Nintendo will honor it or not. At one point or another, eshop will be shut down. And you won't be able to play your games if something happens to the system. The console itself should not be that hard to track down used if you want one
@tobibra Cool, thanks!
@Blizzia Senran games score in the 6 - 7 range usually, and this game, from what is shown, looks like it could score in that range too. It looks stylistically similar to the Senran Kagura franchise, and unless this game ends up getting awful reviews that set it on a much lower level than Senran Kagura it does no disservice to the series to make the comparison.
@SMEXIZELDAMAN Senran games don't score 6-7 unless rated by people who hate the busty brawler genre, and that's by the ones who try to hide their hate.
Within the genre they're typically 8/10 with Shinovi Versus being 9/10, only hampered by the poor online.
But keep tooting that horn mate.
I get to play as a sociopathic high school anime girl slicing her way through hordes of Zombies? Sounds like a bloody good time to me!
@Blizzia http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-vita/senran-kagura-shinovi-versus
@SMEXIZELDAMAN Why, a link that proves my point! 7.9/10 UR, so around an 8/10 There are tons of reviewers giving the games between 7.5 and 9.5 out of 10 within its genre. You don't really have a foothold here.
@Blizzia This game will get a 67 critic review score and 7.9 in user reviews.
@SMEXIZELDAMAN Whatever ye say, whatever ye say
Yes! I'll be picking this up as soon as a western release date is set in stone with s physical cart.
@Blizzia in the busty brawler genre? In the busty ninja academy schoolgirl brawler with dress up options and photography genre they're the best.
Compared to dead or alive they're a bit low budget.
Mix of handdrawn, 3D, and photos?
Certainly a unique look to this, also with the real-world Tokyo setting.
Not exactly my kind of game, but the enthusiasm on display is pretty contageous.
@tobibra Literally the point of the article.
@YANDMAN Not the first time they posted it. They just updated an article from last year announcing the game itself.
@Blizzia not to mention Steam reviews, I learned an important lesson not to care about critic reviews, because then you get people that hate a Visual Novel because it contains too much story and text, and love CoD because they are paid to do so.
I like Senran Kagura a lot, but if my GF never got me into the series I would never ever know it exists (she is a big Senran fan)
looks interesting if theres a physical version ill pick it up for science.
@Steel76 Everyone is always trying to be Kawaii.
Actually looks kinda cool, but something about that trailer makes me laugh out loud. Perhaps just how it is simultaneously earnest yet gratuitous.
Girl seeks aboveground world!
Never surrender the braveness!
Well, i think we should support a game that celebrates the value of education.
The graphics and gameplay look terribly bad. If it wasn't for the 'fanservice' aspect this would not be getting looked at at all
Playing this on the PC now, and I love it. Having it on the Switch will ease the withdrawal I'm feeling whenever I'm away from my PC.
Looks like there wasn't much budget for animation...
@keiji_nanjo Same. OST is pretty damn good. Didn't think I would like the game, but it definitely has my attention.
It was very interesting to read it and I understand how it can be important for students. But for them, even more importantly, you can be https://writingcreek.com/grant-writing/ this resource will help them in many ways to find many different ways to work.
