Re: Mario & Luigi Developer AlphaDream Recruiting Graphic Designers For Switch And Smartphone Projects

Between Fire Emblem Heroes making Male Seasonal Characters almost non-existent this year in favor of more and more ‘waifus’ when 2017 had mostly gender-balanced banners and Nintendo putting loot boxes in Pocket Camp on top of all the other layers of monetization; I’m losing faith that Nintendo will do right in the f2p sector and feel they should leave it to things like Fortnite and Warframe. I’ve always held Nintendo in very high regard but they’ve made it very clear they’re ready to get down and dirty like the rest of them and shift the content and payment model of their mobile games as they go. Just stick to full games. Hopefully FE Three Houses and AC Switch will be free of this rubbish.

Re: Fortnite's Playground Mode Is Finally Up And Running Again After A Week Of Trouble

@Djgoa I don’t think so iirc. It’s a shame but it’s the way it’s been for all of them (I’ve had a couple duos and squads wins with my sister since switching to Switch and I’m kinda sad they aren’t recorded ahah) and there was actually a period not long ago where stats were disabled for a couple months due to server crashes and other errors. I’m actually kinda grateful that the switch keeps track of playtime as Xbox and (I think) PS4 doesn’t becuase of EPIC disabling the recording of playtime in-game.

@GoldenGamer88 all modes other than solo, squad and duos are marked in-game as ‘LTM’ (limited time mode) and they cycle through different game modes that play differently like 50 vs 50, Final Fight, Solid Gold and others. Each time they usually come back slightly different as shown by ‘v1’ ‘v2’ etc. It’s to prevent the playerbase splitting too much but the developers have said in updates on Reddit that they plan on eventually having Playground be permanent and they’re continuing to think on making 50 vs 50 permanent as it’s the most popular and requested LTM.

So there’s breasts and maps. Cool. I’ll check to see if it’s good when it launches. The premise seems cool and the art looks nice but close-up breast shots in trailers and games are so freaking condescending. I’m not into women so this doesn’t pull me in in the way they think.

Re: There's Trouble In Paradise As Nintendo Adds Loot Boxes To Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp

Deleted. Every aspect of the game was already monetized. Leaf tickets to speed up crafting, leaf tickets to get more resources, leaf tickets to speed up events, leaf ticket exclusive event items, £30 worth of leaf tickets for camp backdrops (recently added). They didn’t need to do this and it’s straight up gross that they’ve dressed the up as fortune cookies rather than a bland crate or something to get kids to go ‘but mommmmmm’.

So disappointed. They’ve turned what should be a relaxing series into a game you have to play all day every day to grind everything to try and get the free stuff and a game that demands money for pretty much every aspect of the game.

Charge £30 for the game and be done with it. Mess.

Re: Capcom Explains (Again) Why Monster Hunter World Isn't Coming To Switch

Peterjr1

I love MonHun and I definitely believe this game can run on the Switch but the Switch dev kits were sent out super late and the game wasn’t developed with Switch in mind so it’s silly to expect a Switch version of it. That said, the Switch is selling insanely well in Japan so unless they hate money, Capcom won’t be dropping their main consumer base any time soon
