Very cool. Have yet to get very far in this (thanks to too many good games including that one-two punch of Resi 2 and KH3) but can't wait to start making some progress as the game seems great from what I've played so far (plus it only matching you with people that speak in the language of your system was a nice surprise when I booted it up (because I play in spanish))

Tbf I don’t mind that 2 isn’t on Switch. I love resi, played Rev 1 and 2 many times over and can’t wait for 4 and the others to come over to play them again. Got my 2 copy yesterday and loving that too

The Booby Defense Squad tend to be the kind of straight men that hate LGBT and other minorities (as demonstrated above with people ranting about ‘political correctness’ and such) and cry about ‘why do characters have to have sexuality?’ when a character is anything other than straight.

Evidence: see the reaction to any Nintendo life article about racism or sexuality such as the Birdo one and the Mr Game and Watch one.

@tobibra ‘but VNs!’ Is like the ‘BUT HER EMAILS’ of nintendolife sexualisation conversations. I’ll reiterate that I’m not referring to VNs, I’m referring to RPGS (like Xenoblade 2, like all the others), fighting games, sports games, even shooters like Paladins (multiple female characters where their designs for skins and such are crippled by the fact that almost every single skin has to have the same low level of clothing, also Skye literlaly just got a rework to make her boobs and butt bigger). Big name brands that feature hyper sexualised female designs and characters.

As someone else described, a shirtless guy is not comparable to the extent that games like this, like Xenoblade, Paladins etc sexualize their female characters.

@EasyDaRon .... that’s exactly what I’m saying. I’m saying that people like to pretend that men are sexualised to the same level these girls are to justify these games when female and gay gamers dislike these games becuase it’s emblematic of an industry that only serves one demographic.

@NintendoLifer23 the main problem people see with it is that games where male characters get interactive bouncing pecs and balls and are almost all naked and posing sexually for you while moaning and smacking their butts together etc. barely exist. People look at gaming and see women made as sex objects in sports games, fighting games, RPGs etc whereas male characters aren’t treated anywhere near the same.

There’s no ‘vice versa’ because it’s pretty much only for those that like women.

A big budget Nintendo rpg that subjects the male characters to constant crotch and pec shots where they have big bulges and they go out of their way to please a male or female player character and that main character wakes up between the mans pecs etc?

You can keep saying it but games made for gay men and straight women pale so far in comparison to the amount of big budget boobs-in-your face RPGs and fighting games, dating games etc.

@Kriven the massive majority of games aren’t for gay men or women. We can’t complain about 99% of games if we can’t complain about things that aren’t ‘made for us’.

@Kriven nice generalization there. Of course media that only tries to serve one audience will keep only one audience. More and more women are getting into gaming (biggest mobile game consumers) and yet games stay the way they are (‘fanservice’ being massively rampant on mobile). This will likely force a change in the market at some point down the line and then I guess women and gay men won’t have to ‘waaaaaah’ anymore and maybe they’ll get a taste of what entitlement feels like finally.

@SamirMalik Thats a fighting game. He’s clearly not designed to look conventionally attractive unlike the female characters like Pyra and Mythra in this game. Also, this series isn’t known for this ‘fanservice’ so I wasn’t really expecting the amount of pandering that was all through it. Constant boob, underskirt etc shots as well as a maid companion that gets more naked with each upgrade and the plethora naked girl blades.
Edit: oh also, the main character waking up with his face between Mythra’s breasts, waking up in her lap looking up at her boobs, Pyra learning to be subservient from poppy, Nia transforming into an underwear model and professing her love for the main character etc.

Im not saying I played Senran Kagura and was put off the amount of pandering, I played a RPG that was known for quality storytelling and world design and was bombarded with it.

Plus, there is absolutley no comparison between male and female ‘fanservice’. Outside of fighting games, it’s rare to see men sexualised to anywhere near the degree that women are and yeah that’s annoying as a gay guy.

@Starvald I feel you. It’s so in your face and pretty much every cutscene features at least one boob shot. As a gay guy it was super off putting as it gave me absolutely no pleasure and just felt like they were waving it all in my face assuming I’m into women and that big boobs and naked women would help me through the game.

I really don’t understand why it wouldn’t? The ‘were not sure if Switch can handle our colourful but structured game’ responses get more and more silly the more games get released on Switch. If Switch can handle Odyssey, Fortnite, Paladins, Warframe, Breath of The Wild, Crash etc. it can handle Spyro.

Are the Peach controller and Shovel Knight amiibo not purchasable in the UK?

This is great and I love Shy guy but why did the drop co-op challenge when it’s the only way to unlock costumes? Really enjoyed playing that with my partner and my sister

I mean yeah the lag doesn’t necessarily affect gameplay that much but navigating Viridiana Forest is horrible and a really bad start to the game. Also, the lag when approaching the Elite Four was pretty bad as it undercut what was supposed to be a cool triumphant moment.

Also, the graphics are average at best as they’re mostly blown-up 3DS assets and nothing pushes the hardware at all. Considering what else we have on the switch with BoTW, Fortnite, Arms, Paladins etc. Gamefreak could have done much much better.

I like the game and I’m hopeful for the next game but the lag really soured both the beginning and the end of the game for me.

Plus the stuttering character moverment which was extremely prominent at the beginning of the game was very frustrating initially.

The models in the 3DS games are the same as in Lets Go but downscaled so this is hardly impressive imo. I'm enjoying lets go but a lot of the pokemon look bland and textureless (especially standard persian). Not to mention everyone's favorite addition - the walking was ripped from the 3DS games last year or the year before.

Hoping the next gen game gets revamped assets and lets me walk Pheremosa because her datamined walk was sick

Love how anyone who doesn’t like games that do nothing but shove boobs and butts in your face get branded ‘puritan’ on this site. When the only appeal is sexual and it’s only women it can only possibly please straight men and (possibly) lesbian women. Straight women and gay men aren’t automatically ‘puritan’.

You need to accept that these games are divisive for a large number of reasons and not just ‘ugh liberals want to take my booby games away’.

This is ridiculous. Why would we want the entirety of the NES library before anything else? It’s gonns be the same as all other virtual consoles where a new console is out by the time we get more platforms

This looks amazing and Warframe seems like a great game I can’t wait. Probably gonna hold off on getting the founders pack for Smite as I imagine I’ll play this more and I have a lot of stuff to play right now
