Launching today on Switch is Jurassic World Evolution: Complete Edition, a rerelease of the original 2018 game that comes with all DLC included.
As you may know already, Jurassic World Evolution is a park management game based on the hit film franchise. A new launch trailer has been released (see above) and we also have an official description for you below.
In Jurassic World Evolution: Complete Edition, players construct a series of epic dinosaur parks across Las Cinco Muertes (The Five Deaths), a chain of five islands containing treacherous weather conditions and testing terrain worthy of its ominous name. Players start by sending out intrepid dig teams to unearth rare fossilised remains, then ordering gifted scientists to extract and bioengineer the precious DNA encased within, reviving awe-inspiring animals extinct for millennia.

Packed with every piece of DLC released since launch, Jurassic World Evolution: Complete Edition lets players dive into three major narrative expansions, where they can discover stunning new composite species in Jurassic World Evolution: The Secrets of Dr. Wu, including the audacious Ankylodocus and spine-tingling Spinoraptor; re-home dinosaurs following the cataclysmic events of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom in Jurassic World Evolution: Claire’s Sanctuary; and restore the site on which it all began in Jurassic World Evolution: Return to Jurassic Park, as Drs. Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler, and Ian Malcolm accompany players on the path to redemption.
We'll be bringing you our full review of the title as soon as we can, but until then, feel free to read through our early thoughts after we were treated to a remote hands-off demo last month. If you want even more, check out this developer spotlight video in which the team discuss bringing the game to Switch.

Are you thinking of picking this one up today? You'll find it waiting for you on the eShop for £49.99 / $59.99 / €54.99.

Are there any plans to review the game? I want to know how well the Switch handles it.
@jump The article says they are working on it but doesn't say when .
On the fence for this one. Looking forward to the review!
I would have picked it up if had a physical release. Really disappointed it doesn’t.
@Bankaj If I've learned anything from this series, it's that THE FENCES ARE DOWN!!!
Is this like a sim game with a Jurassic park skin or what? Still confused by the trailer.
@JohnnyC Fine, I'm on a crashed electrical-powered 4x4 stuck in a tree for this one. Looking forward to the review!
continuous to ignore two hysteric screams below him and sips tea
I love Jurassic Park, but just seen a review with SwitchUp and although they say the gameplay and docked graphics are really good, the framerate seems to tank the more you play (in docked mode). locking at a locked 20fps sometimes 15!
Handheld is smoother, seemingly at 30fps but full on vaseline smear effect picture quality wise.
Will wait and see if any further patches fix these issues. And £50 is a no go for me for a digital title.
£50 for digital only? Hard pass for me, sadly. Maybe on a 50% sale.
Loved this on the ps4 and pc. Will be getting this next month for the third time
Really enjoyed this on the PS4 but the price is a little steep for a port.
I will wait for a sale and pick it up as it will be fun to play in bed.
@PushMyGran86 Wouldn't it be cheaper to play the game three times on one format? Unless there's stuff added (if there is and I've missed it, fair play) I don't see the point in buying the same game three times.
@JohnnyC well I had it on PS4 first which I ended up selling, had it on pc just to see it in 4K. Now it's on switch with all DLC included and can take it with me. I can't say no to JP
really disapointed no physical would have been day one for me but not 50 bucks for a digital game
Maybe take my money. I will wait for reviews and gameplay
@Zeldafan79 Think Planet Coaster meets Jurassic Park/World
Was very excited for this one, but after watching a video review I'm out. It looks shocking in handheld, with one reviewer describing it as looking like the screen had been smeared with vaseline and then wrapped with cellotape. They weren't far off unfortunately. I'm hoping this one gets patched as I'm willing to put up with a bit of a downgrade but not to that extent.
It's not as good as Planet Coaster or Planet Zoo, but I still found it pretty enjoyable. Definitely the best attempt yet at a JP management game.
No hard copy no sale.
Not a matter of if, but when I get this....I really don't need another game right now.... And Need for Speed comes out soon. But I love dinosaurs....
@Kasma88 Can you link to the review?
Usually I don’t grumble about price
But seriously how much?????
Get out of town
@Yanina Not sure on the exact written review as I read a couple, but you can see the problem very clearly in this video. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TH1ye_QoJnQ
Pity about handheld. Hard pass unless it's fixable.
If it was on cartage then day one
But no for download
no download game is worth 50 pounds
I've played the PS4 and Xbox One versions of JWE to death and absolutely adore this game. If the Switch version runs well and isn't too big of a graphical downgrade in docked mode (I'm totally okay with lower resolutions in handheld), this game will absolutely be worth me purchasing again (again).
Oh, didn’t realize this was digital only. Could have sworn I remembered a physical edition being announced.
I can’t resist Jurassic Park/World. But I can resist $60. Perhaps when it’s heavily on sale.
@Sourcecode Did you figure it out? I'm having the same issue
@Kasma88 At 6:50 yeah. Thanks a lot!
That is pretty crazy.
It's past 2 pm on release day where I am, and I still can't access the game. It still says its under preorder. Any idea what's going on with that? Shouldn't it be available by now?
Really disappointed with this in handheld, the visuals are so blurry. Seeing footage docked, it looks much better. I hope they can improve the handheld visuals, the framerate seems really good handheld so I'd be happy for them to sacrifice some frames to improve the visuals. If you've played Cities Skylines, its about as bad as that visually
I hate it when devs put down a release date for a game, then change it on the same day it’s supposed to release. Very unprofessional.
5:15 PST and still is not playable, really ridiculous... Not sure if this is on the Devs or Nintendo...
@gmarston same issue here too. what time is this being released? do you know?
@Sourcecode same issue here too. what time is this being released Pacific time here. do you know?
Not sure still shows as coming soon in the eShop so maybe 7pm like folks were saying for the east coast...
@Sourcecode 9:30 PM eastern U.S. and it's not letting me play it yet either. Seems strange.
I am seeing the same thing here.
@Sourcecode Thanks for the update! I was starting to wonder if there was something wrong with my Switch. Haha!
I'm an massive JP nut and got the game on PS4. I prefer handheld so I got Evolution on Switch.
Firing the game up on my couch, I was excited to jump in handheld style! The opening scene heading to the first island looked a bit uhh compressed. "No worries I say, they're just saving room for the actual gameplay to look better.."
The game starts and all I could hear was Ian Malcom's voice in my head saying, "Welcome to Blurassic Park.."
This needs a patch.
Time to pull-off dust from my copy of Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis
Definitely blurry in handheld, but seems to otherwise run well and is completely functional. Even with the blur very nice to have this in handheld. If they get a patch for the blur it looks to be a pretty good port.
Blurry handheld is a problem for me. The base game is on sale digitally on PS4 for £12.99 at the moment, so I might buy that one instead!
