As a long-time fan of Digimon (always liked it more than Pokemon) and signer of the petition, please bring this to NA! I've sadly never played a game based on the franchise, but have enjoyed watching the anime immensely.
Very excited as the release date inches nearer! In a way, I'm glad for the difficulty. As much as I love Sonic Colors (my current fav. 3D Sonic title) it was way too easy; I basically beat it the same day I bought it. I'm really excited for the story in this because there seems to be something more to it than just "stop the bad guys."
I'm also looking forward to seeing good ol' Eggman (the "Robotnik" name isn't coming back, okay pro-fans of the name?) do what he does best; being an unpredictable, entertaining villain!
Also, I don't get why so many are against Pac-Man being included, he's every bit as iconic as they are. If its about movesets, look at characters like Olimar; how many of his attacks involve not using Pikmin?
The trailer for SM3DW was definitely the highlight for me. The game looks visually amazing, the new power-ups revealed are very clever (especially the cherry), and I like that Bowser is capturing new characters this time around; while driving a pimpin' car no less.
I've honestly never been into Zelda. I have beaten one though, a friend let me borrow Minish Cap and kinda helped walk me through the game when needed.
But there's something about ALBW that really captures my interests in a way no other Zelda has or does. Its a combination of the art style, classic top-down perspective, and overall tone that just pulls me into it.
I hope Nintendo doesn't keep going on this "safe" path with just Mario, Zelda, and Pokemon. It really shows they're simply relying on the best selling IPs instead of taking risks with the lesser ones.
We need a new Metroid, Star Fox, and especially F-Zero within the next few years on Wii U. Star Fox and F-Zero have been dormant long enough, and Metroid needs a huge comeback!
@3Daniel It makes sense, but so far the reveals seem very random. Like why wait to reveal Luigi? He should've been in the teaser trailer at E3, since its the Year of Luigi, and he's a 3-time veteran; instead of some time later during a Direct. Peach's reveal had no significance, as opposed to Olimar with Pikmin 3's release.
I think Captain Falcon should've been revealed by now IMHO, since he's got nothing coming up game-wise, is a 3-time veteran, and Smash Bros. has literally been his only way of staying relevant; like the Star Fox characters.
@ACK That may very well be true, but he's still just another version of Link. If he was another character (like with Marth and Roy) then I personally wouldn't have a problem with him.
I was worried that the "First Appearance Batman" skin wouldn't come to the Wii U version, since it seemed it'd only be available on the collector's edition sets for PS3 and 360.
I'd almost buy the whole pack for that skin alone!
@SkywardLink98 So... you'd be happy if no new characters were announced at this point? Isn't that part of the excitement? To see what new characters are going to appear in the next SSB?
Seeing 2 and 3 time veterans return is fine; but a more or less carbon-copy of Link returning just rubs me the wrong way. There are so many other characters more worthy of taking a slot in the roster that haven't even appeared in a SSB yet.
If Sega knew Sonic obviously sells better on Nintendo consoles, why didn't they release Generations on Wii? I remember an NP interview where the current head of Sonic Team said they only wanted to release it on HD consoles... right...
Still very stoaked for Lost World! Its my most anticipated game of the year!
That will be the greatest gaming news I'll of heard in a long time if Retro returns to Metroid! I'll have the biggest fanboy episode...
They're such talented artists and designers; they breathed new life into the series, and arguably made Metroid better than any of the previous games had done.
Without the Prime games, I don't think Metroid would be as relevant as it is today.
I've been in a pinball mood lately. Got Zen Pinball and Star Wars Pinball, and from the looks of this it an "old-but-still-fun" pinball game. Hopefully it'll come to the US. The screenshots alone show the game still has charm!
@Kirk I don't want to get in a thing with everyone else, but I honestly agree with you about her pixel style looking better than this new HD version. Her overall look is superior to it in terms of uniqueness and is more recognizable than the HD's almost generic approach, with all the females having the same proportions.
Why couldn't they just make HD versions OF the pixel style like the Mighty Switch Force games?
Its almost as if they took their Ducktales graphics engine (or whatever) and put Shantae in it.
Nintendo's not going anywhere. They've proved time and time again with their approach to making consoles, handhelds, and games that they always look for innovation rather than technical specs.
Wii's amazing popularity spawned the Kinect and PS Move, of course those aren't even close to selling as well as Wii did.
Nintendo is always ten steps ahead when it comes to having their games and hardware planned out. If anything, Sony's attempt to sell the New Vita will be their last attempt in the handheld market. I don't see that thing doing well at all, when in the meantime 3DS is still doing great and the 2DS is on the way; providing an alternative for people who've either held out or don't like 3D.
What's the New Vita even aiming for customer-wise?
@hcfwesker Seriously! Prime needs more love in Smash!
Admittingly the Other M stage looks great; (personal opinions on the game aside) but there are so many creative and gorgeous planets, environments, etc. that Retro created.
Frigate Orpheon was alright in Brawl, but what about a light/dark switching area from Echoes, Elysium(?), the Pirate Homeworld, or Phaaze?
Wow, that trailer got me more hyped, which seems impossible.
I wasn't a big fan of everybody just talking to you over radio in AC. So I like that the story will be more involving; like Batman conversing with Alfred over why he does what he does, and not seeing eye-to-eye, it would seem.
Can't wait for October! This and Lost World will be a double dose of awesome releases!
@LzQuacker Well, then why aren't all older games priced higher then? Besides GS makes plenty of money as it is; with their preorders, trade-in credit, etc.
As great as Metroid Prime Trilogy is (my favorite game of all time, in fact!) GS is ripping people off with this pricing. It came out about 4 years ago, and its priced higher?
Why not just sell it in a plain Wii case, if its the tin case that's making it more expensive to resell? I got mine day one way back with the awesome poster and (one size fits all) t-shirt.
If you missed out on getting this nearly perfect trilogy, I say go with your gut and snag a copy.
Pretty cool for what it is. I don't find the lack of a talking Samus disturbing.
Metroid needs a comeback now Nintendo. Three, going on four years without a new entry is long enough. You've released more ZELDA games in a shorter timespan now!
I'd like to see how this turns out. Besides the actress they chose for Samus, this both looks and sounds pretty interesting. Metroid is in a bit of a quiet state right now, so maybe a fan film will help the series get out of the rut its been in since... that other game.
I respect everything the man has to go through in order to make the best possible game he can.
IMO It was a bad move to make both a SSB Community AND posting pics of the day; because all it does is bring in the whiners and beggers for "X character to join or return."
It just goes to show that the worst a company can do is fully listen to its fans. We'd probably have Goku and Patrick Star in the roster if Nintendo did.
Maybe they'll reveal another newcomer for Smash Bros.? Also I really want to see a cutscene from Sonic Lost World; all the news of it having edgier language and Eggman potentially going back to being more competent as a villain, are making me die of suspense.
This is upsetting. Wii U owners deserve everything other platforms are getting. (the PS3 exclusively getting those extra suits/missions is complete BS) Hopefully they realize how big of a mistake it could be to not include multiplayer. I personally don't know if I'd use it much, but I'd prefer having the option that not have it at all.
They won me back to the series when Colors came out! So far, Lost World is looking like a home run for Sega; the redone gameplay will surely be a fresh experience. October can't come soon enough! This and Arkham Origins will probably keep me busy for the rest of the year!

"Digimon are the champions!"
Re: Nintendo Download: 24th October (North America)
Nothing for me. I'll be busy with Arkham Origins and Lost World for months to come though.
Re: Video: This Japanese Super Mario 3D World Trailer Is Six Minutes Of Pure Platforming Bliss
This is definitely at the top of my birthday/Christmas list!

Re: Nintendo Download: 17th October (North America)
I miiight get Pinball: Revenge of the Gator.
Re: Feature: A Week of Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Screens - Issue Eight
Samus vs. Pit, because Samus needs more love and attention. Enough with Toon Link every week already!
Re: Nintendo Download: 10th October (North America)
I was dissappointed with the lack of a Sonic Lost World demo.
Nothing for me indeed...
Re: Feature: A Week of Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Screens - Issue Seven
Obviously the Mario, Sonic, and Mega Man one.
Also, I don't get why so many are against Pac-Man being included, he's every bit as iconic as they are. If its about movesets, look at characters like Olimar; how many of his attacks involve not using Pikmin?
Re: Club Nintendo Rewards are Updated for October
Dang I was hoping for F-Zero X this time...
Already have Super Mario Kart and I don't really want the NES Zelda on 3DS.
Guess there's always next month.
Re: Feature: The Big Nintendo Direct Summary - 1st October Broadcasts
Overall pretty good Direct.
The trailer for SM3DW was definitely the highlight for me. The game looks visually amazing, the new power-ups revealed are very clever (especially the cherry), and I like that Bowser is capturing new characters this time around; while driving a pimpin' car no less.

Definately going to keep an eye on this.

Re: Super Mario 3D World Brings New Power-Ups to the Mushroom Kingdom
Whelp, after the new trailer, its definately going on my birthday/Christmas list.
Good to know the Cat suit isn't the only brand-new power-up!
Re: New Kirby Game Will Be Blowing Up The 3DS in 2014
I hate to be that guy, but do we really need another Kirby game so soon?
Unless you count Dream Collection from last year, there were two games (Return to Dreamland and Mass Attack) released in the same year before!
Some other franchises could use some attention right now, Big N. (coughMetroidcough)

Re: Toon Link Adventuring Onto Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS
@3Daniel If they added something as simple as online play, I'd definitely consider buying GX again!
Also If that's true about how they're pacing the character reveals, I'll keep posting this until Captain Falcon graces the SSB site.
Re: Toon Link Adventuring Onto Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS

I think what sickens me more, is the fact that Toon Link was revealed before more high-profile characters like Captain Falcon, Ness, or Zelda.
Re: Batman: Arkham Origins Season Pass Confirmed for Wii U
I'm VERY tempted, all those extras sound great!

Re: Toon Link Adventuring Onto Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS
I'm honestly upset. We don't need clone characters, let alone another Link for the third time in a row.
Why do so many people love playing as Toon Link in Brawl anyway? He had the EXACT same moveset as regular Link.

Re: New Sonic Lost World Trailer Reveals A Slight Delay to North American Release
I'm a bit dissappointed. Really looking forward to this; just everything about it is simply amazing.

Man, I'm so pumped for this!
Lost World is definately going to be a triple-A Wii U game!
I hate how its tempting me to get the 3DS version too, with those cute little ships for co-op.
Re: Review: Pinball: Revenge of the 'Gator (3DS eShop / Game Boy)

Aw, no Jar Jar table?
Not even a prequel table for that matter? At least having a Darth Vader one helps.

Re: Mega Man Creator Keiji Inafune Working On Spiritual Successor Mighty No. 9
That was a touching video. Mr. Inafune truly cares about MegaMan fans who have no hope left for Capcom reviving the franchise.

Yes, its almost here! Love the green box!
Its also a nice contrast to NSMBW's box.
Re: Developer Interview: Shin'en Multimedia Talks About Jett Rocket II, New Modes and Sticking with Nintendo
Its great to know there are still developers out there that put passion into the games they make.

Now 'reveal' Captain Falcon being included alongside a brand-new F-Zero title for Wii U.
