Re: Soapbox: The 8-Bit Era Laid the Groundwork, but Modern Day Progress Shouldn't be Discounted

PanicPuppet

I wholeheartedly agree with this article. Everyone experiences playing games, whether retro or modern, in their own ways.

Having VC on Wii was and is a great way to experience games you remember from your youth, or ones you've never heard of but want to try for youself.

I had fond memories of playing Mario 64 and SSB at friends' houses, but I never owned an N64 myself. So buying them on VC was a great nostalgia trip as well as a way of finally owning them myself.

Re: Review: Mario & Luigi: Dream Team (3DS)

I hope this game is good. I hold Superstar Saga in such high regards that when I got BIS, I really didn't enjoy it all that much; never bothered with PIT, either.

Hopefully Dream Team can regain my love for the M&L series.

Re: Review: Star Wars Pinball (Wii U eShop)

PanicPuppet

@cyrus_zuo I can relate with being on the fence. Real pinball is always more fun to play, but you wouldn't have moving characters on the tables.

I got Zen Pinball on 3DS awhile back and I was bored of it within days. Star Wars is the prime reason I'd get this, also the promise of more tables being made (Ep. I please?) makes it more tempting. So I guess its more of a "wait and see" situation for me.

@mr570 Thanks! It just came to me.

Re: Miyamoto: Mario Will Likely Return To Single-Player

PanicPuppet

I'm sure 3D World will be great, but when you look at Mario's main console games, you can see it dip down after Galaxy.

Galaxy 2 was an average sequel, 3D Land was overall bland, NSMB2 was a forgettable retrend, and NSMBU was basically NSMBW with an HD upgrade.

I really hope Nintendo tries to go back to the era of SM64 and Sunshine, when every new Mario entry was a fresh experience, with only minor similarities with past games.

Re: Review: Star Wars Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike (GameCube)

PanicPuppet

I thoroughly enjoy this game even to this very day.

The review was a bit hostile towards anything that wasn't a mission set solely in a ship. Truth be told its nice to have a variety of missions, especially when you're on foot. Because in RS II, I never felt like I was with any human beings; just ships with voice chatter every so often. Its also fun playing missions straight out of the movies too, on foot and all. They give fans a rush of nostalgia with short clips from the films set throughout those missions that gives it the extra does of memorable moments from the OT.

I'd personally give Rebel Strike a 8.0.

Re: Star Wars Pinball Bringing the Force to Wii U on 11th July

PanicPuppet

I might get this... partly because I want a new Star Wars game to play. But pinball is only interesting for so long before it becomes mediocre.

One SW game that I've been wanting to see a release for the longest time, is the awesomely-epic SW Trilogy Arcade!

That would've been a PERFECT game to port on Wii!

Re: Happy 22nd Birthday, Sonic!

PanicPuppet

You've come a looong way, haven't you Sonic? Have a few slices, you deserve it!

Colors personally got me back into the series after the awkward time period between '06 and Unleashed; as of now its my fav. 3D Sonic title.

As for 2D: the greatness that is Sonic CD!

Re: Nintendo Download: 20th June (North America)

PanicPuppet

Of course the one time I leave to go on vacation they finally put Sonic Blast on the eShop!

Add in the fact that my 3DS hates any Wi-Fi signal other than my home's and that makes it even more annoying!

I will get Sonic Blast!... Eventually...

Re: Steel Diver Will Be Nintendo's First Free-To-Play Game

PanicPuppet

@Le_Wario26 I saw it opening weekend, then a second time a little later, even saw the 3D Re-release, and also own it on VHS, DVD, and a VHS Collector's Edition. Not a bad SW film.

I'll never fully understand what's literally the biggest bandwagon for hatred on one character, that's not even close to being as bad as people make him out to be.

Re: Feature: The Big Nintendo E3 Survey

PanicPuppet

This was a very dull E3 for Nintendo, nothing got me super-excited, not even Smash Bros. I know I'll be buying it, as well as Mario 3D World and Kart 8, but I still wish they revealed a new Metroid, Star Fox, or F-Zero.

Re: Shin'en Ponders Over HD Version of Jett Rocket II

PanicPuppet

The first was a pretty good, if a bit of a standard 3D platformer. An actual story this time around would be nice, as well as playable Rudolpho.

If they decide on releasing it on Wii U it would definitely be one pretty-looking game. The first one's visuals outdid many, if not most of Wii's retail titles.

Re: Feature: The Biggest Wii U Games of 2013 - Summer Edition

PanicPuppet

I'm really interested as to what the 3D Mario title will be like. But my other ones are Sonic Lost World, Retro's secret game, Smash Bros. 4, and Mario Kart.

I'm really hoping for a surprise reveal of a new Metroid and/or Star Fox too.

F-Zero will probably be awhile, if Mr. Miyamoto's comment from a few months back was any indication.

Re: Rumour: Retro's Wii U Title Is An Entirely New IP

PanicPuppet

@ompgsag @SparkOfSpirit What's wrong with you guys? I'd love another Prime, even if it wasn't called "Prime" per-say; since the trilogy was neatly wrapped up in Corruption.

Anyways if its a new IP, that's cool. Retro defiantly has the talent to create an original universe with memorable characters, great gameplay, a captivating story, etc.
