Re: Don't Worry, Samus Will Be In Metroid Prime: Federation Force

PanicPuppet

@allav866 I agree with F-Zero fans being worse off. But the sad fact is that Nintendo doesn't seem to think its worth bringing back. Hopefully that will change in the future, as I'm a fan as well.

The main reason why I compare fans is because during the days after E3, I saw so many people belittling Metroid fans who were upset about FF. People saying offhand things like "deal with it", "stop whining", "at least you're getting something", etc. Meanwhile new Mario and Zelda games were revealed with positive reception.

Why are Metroid fans suddenly being perceived as bottom feeders who should be grateful for anything, when not too long ago we had gotten a trilogy of some of the best games in the past decade? That's what I'd like to know.

Metroid has been apart of the "big three" forever; pioneering gaming and setting standards in the industry. Its seems that it could slowly be veering off into the territory of dormant franchises like F-Zero.

Metroid deserves better than that, all the well-known franchises deserve better than that.

Re: Don't Worry, Samus Will Be In Metroid Prime: Federation Force

PanicPuppet

@allav866 Well again, Metroid's status as been unstable since 2010. Most just want to see a return to form sooner rather than later.

Spin-offs are fine, but we need another main series entry that wasn't released 5 years ago to compliment it. Something like Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland wasn't released after 5 years of nothing.

I'll give you the petition, that's going too far. But let me ask you this: how many Zelda games (CD-i ones notwithstanding) have been considered "bad", or at least on the same level of mixed opinions like Other M?

Zelda fans have it pretty good from what I see.

Re: Don't Worry, Samus Will Be In Metroid Prime: Federation Force

PanicPuppet

@LztheQuack Fine, every other year. That's still miles better than:

2010: Metroid Other M
2011: none
2012: none
2013: none
2014: none
2015: none
2016: Metroid Prime Federation Force

Getting games released at a steady rate is better than nothing at all. Remakes can be great for people who want to experience them again, or for the first time. We could've easily gotten a Metroid II remake, or a collection of the 2D games within that time span. It surely would've satisfied a good portion of fans.

Re: Don't Worry, Samus Will Be In Metroid Prime: Federation Force

PanicPuppet

@allav866 Nah man, Zelda fans can be worse. Much, much worse.

Metroid fans haven't had the best of times for the past 5 years. Other M wasn't exactly a stellar entry, cancelled games like Dread and the untitled 3DS game have been dug up, and now the wildcard that is Federation Force is, as far as we know, all that's coming in 2016 with the Metroid name. Can you blame the fans?

Meanwhile Zelda fans flourish in multiple titles every year; something that just started happening in recent years, yet still aren't satisfied...

Re: Nintendo President Satoru Iwata Passes Away Aged 55

PanicPuppet

Wow... this is unreal.

Thank you for everything you envisioned Mr. Iwata. Thank you for bravely leading Nintendo, and keeping its spirit alive and well through the recent decades. Thank you for giving us amazing games and brilliant gaming systems that forever changed the industry.

You were a one of a kind leader, and a truly great man. We'll miss you Mr. Iwata.

Re: Editorial: Nintendo's Approach to amiibo is Increasingly Frustrating

PanicPuppet

Amiibo will be a touchy issue with fans for a long time, it seems.

Me personally, I love the idea of collecting little statues of Nintendo characters who have never had any physical merchandise before. But my gosh, why can't Nintendo seriously try and fix these stock issues? Its gotten ridiculously out of hand at this point!

I was finally able to find a reasonably-priced Captain Falcon on ebay recently, and he was supposedly released in the US last November?

You need to get it together Nintendo...

Re: Next Metroid Prime Home Console Title "Would Likely Now be on NX"

PanicPuppet

Well, that's it for me. Assuming the NX will both replace Wii U and be backwards compatible, I'll probably sell my Wii U.

This generation hasn't been very good for the big N. I only have 5 retail games for Wii U after all this time. Aside from Star Fox Zero, the future Wii U releases look pretty bleak for me; its very saddening.

Here's hoping the NX knocks it out of the park, in every respect.

Re: Metroid Prime Producer Wants to Make Another Sequel With Samus, "Not Involved" in 2D Titles By Yoshio Sakamoto

PanicPuppet

If this game was announced alongside a new "true" Metroid, then I wouldn't have any issues; I'm all for expanding the Metroid universe!

But I think a new main title reveal, along with FF to hold us over would've been the wiser move. Especially taking the 5 years since the last game into account.

But the fact they just released a trailer for FF with no explanation whatsoever is baffling. What kind of reaction did they expect? "Yay its something with Metroid in the title?"

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Nintendo's E3 Digital Event?

PanicPuppet

It started out amazing with the puppets and Star Fox Zero, then... what happened?

Stuff like Metroid Prime FF could've used some context; like "why did they decide to go in this direction with the series?" While stuff we already knew about got developer stories...

It didn't feel like an E3 presentation overall, just an hour long Direct. WAY too many games didn't need to be in the presentation.

Nintendo, you're better than this!

Re: Feature: Nintendo Franchises We Want to See at E3 - Paper Mario

PanicPuppet

Eh, I've honestly never cared for Paper Mario.

I've played TTYD and SPM, but they didn't leave a lasting impression. The art style is cute, but I never liked the "trying too hard to get a laugh" writing the games had. When it comes to Mario and RPGS, I prefer the Mario & Luigi games.

But hey, kudos to everyone who like the series.

Re: Feature: Nintendo Franchises We Want to See at E3 - Metroid

PanicPuppet

I'm almost certain we'll see something Metroid-relate announced this year. What I'd like to see is a sequel to Fusion, with new elements like dogfighting and actually hunting bounties. I'd prefer the Prime style, but despite the problems Other M had, that gameplay style was good as well.

I'd take anything at his point. We need Metroid Nintendo!

Re: Poll: We Need to Talk About amiibo - Where Do You Stand?

PanicPuppet

I want to love amiibo, I really do.

I'm a bit of a collector when it comes to stuff like action figures, but the whole stock issue just puts me off. In fact, it started when I couldn't find Captain Falcon in any stores around my area that carried amiibo, but he was apparently released on the east coast of the US. (I live in the pacific northwest)

I truly hope to see this issue fixed very soon, as I'm never going to buy off a scalper. I have faith in you Nintendo!

Re: Star Wars: Battle Pod Now Available For Home Use, A Steal At Just $35,000

PanicPuppet

@KodyDawg Ep. III is awesome! It easily outdoes VI with its emotionally powerful climax, and dare I say rivals V with its much darker tone.

When it comes to Jar Jar, I'm a bit of a superfan. (I plan on dressing up as him for VII's premiere!) I've never seen the sheer hatred you commonly witness online for him even compare to how people are IRL, which is barely noticeable.

I consider the SW fandom online and IRL as two different animals. One's pleasant to be around, the other I'd rather steer away from entirely.

Re: Unofficial Metroid Prequel Uses The Original NES Hardware To Impressive Effect

PanicPuppet

What's with the unfitting music in the videos?

Anyways, it looks interesting enough, and nearly anything Metroid-related gets me giddy. But could they of made the game look less... drab? The original Metroid was fairly colorful. Samus is just shades of blue here, while in the original she had separate hair, skin, and outfit colors.

But yeah, still not giving up hope for a Metroid announcement at E3!

Re: Interview: AVGN Adventures Developer on Influences, Spinning 'Bad' to Good and Miiverse Screenshots

PanicPuppet

@mjc0961 "I can't believe it's 2015 and people still get hung up on "swearing". They're just words, they're only "more offensive" or "bad" because you personally chose to think they are, not because they actually are. If people would stop getting hung up on these words for literally no reason, they wouldn't even be used that much anymore. Getting hung up on swearing is such a massive sign of immaturity. It's about time the world grew up and realized there is nothing wrong with these words."

Wow, so much wrong with this paragraph. I don't even know where to start.
