@RupeeClock oh that's excellent, I had no idea they'd implemented a new process. Hopefully that means I'll be able to drop my overpriced collector's edition order with ShopTo. Wish they'd done this for the bloody Xenoblade 3 CE that's for sure!
Do you happen to know if PayPal will be able to be used as a payment option? I know on some websites they don't let you use PayPal when pre-ordering but I can't remember whether the MNS does or not 🤔

@cpmh1234 Pokémon sales are always front-loaded in the extreme, the games come out and sell literal millions in a few months then the reality of the games' quality becomes an issue and the sales fall off a cliff. It's been happening like this for a decade, though admittedly I'm not caught up with the sales numbers of Scarlet & Violet just yet but it definitely happened with Sword & Shield because once the next games come around Pokémon fans move on.

I think it's a kind of addiction tbh, speaking as a reformed Pokémaniac 😉

@westman98 the last time Aonuma appeared in a direct it was because he was announcing the delay of this game, if I'm not forgetting any more recent appearances anyway... I think that's why I'm a bit cautious, well that and the fact that I'm a massive cynic 😅

@Bret Nintendo has been making this game for 6 years, there's no way it'll only be an asset flip. I'm convinced we're getting huge amounts of extra content (underground/caverns and dungeons as well as the floating islands) since the shrines are gone and the Wii U millstone around the previous game's neck is no longer an issue.

Oh god this is giving me 2014 (was that the year? I forget) vibes when he and Miyamito played the Wii U Breath of the Wild and confirmed possibly the first delay, this has me worried rather than excited.

@Duncanballs don't they publish all the Persona games?

The SNES ones are still showing in stock for me but I can't afford them until next week so I'm not bothering to get my hopes up that they'll still be in stock but then

@RupeeClock I'm desperate to pre-order a copy of the collector's edition but I have zero faith the UK store will do any better than with the XC3 one, which goes for upwards of 5x the original price on eBay now 🤬😡🤦🏼‍♂️

@nocdaes I've just seen a post on Facebook claiming the remaster missed out on the top spot by just 1000 units, which is pretty impressive if you consider the relative scale of the two franchises

@nocdaes if you read @Westman98's comment above you can see the relevance of why people are talking about Dead Space. Personally, I think sales in the UK are generally down as a result of the cost of living crisis so we should be celebrating the success of this somewhat niche franchise.

@MS7000 definitely unusual, I've ordered from them multiple times and nothing has ever gone missing... In fact I couldn't even tell you what their customer service is like since I haven't had need to contact them ever 😅

@VinylCreep not disputing your argument here about how this is a bit of a logical fallacy, however the game has frequently been at the top of the eshop charts so we can infer from that information that digital sales have been healthy. Obviously we'll have to wait for official confirmation but it definitely bodes well for the franchise.

I got clipped through the floor in the big run earlier, hopefully they fix that swiftly because any unfair splat like that can mean the difference between success and failure

@AstroTheGamosian legislation like that isn't anywhere near being ready though is it, or at least I've not heard anything about it. Governments are notoriously slow to catch up to digital issues, especially the UK and US.

I already missed out on the Xenoblade 3 collectors edition (which is currently selling for around £200 on UK eBay) so I really don't want to miss out on the Zelda one too 🤬

@nocdaes you're forgetting that the UK is football land and historically has always been Nintendo's weakest market, the reason they've managed to gain ground here is because the PS5 had such a difficult launch and the Switch was readily available over lockdown to the joy of many a bored Brit.

Seriously though football is drummed into you from birth that it's the national pastime and you'll participate whether you like it or not 😒

Anyone know how big the update is? I've been downloading it for at least 15 minutes and it's still not done! Usually get pretty good speeds on my broadband... well, I do for my location anyway.

@Deltarogue anyone paying that much for Pokémon DLC (when Gamefreak really ought to have been giving it out for free as an apology for the steaming turd they released) proves the old adage that a fool and his money are easily parted.

@Condor_raidus he explained at the top of the article, the final boss of the game glows different colours depending on which beam you need to use to damage it and his colour blindness means he couldn't tell when those colours switched - meaning it was impossible for him to do any damage and beat the boss.

@tobsesta99 I'm genuinely saddened by the reaction to this game, I thought the LGBTQIA+ community had evolved a bit but actually what I've seen of queer folk actively antagonising trans people (over this game) has really made me wonder if we've got a community at all.
Like, I get why people love Harry Potter; I was one of them, my gran had all the books and we watched the films together before she died so I have emotional attachments to the series too... but you can't ignore the pain inflicted on an oft marginalised minority, JKR has poisoned the franchise for so many and to see how the blatant antisemitism (in the story of the game) is being hand-waved away is incredibly illuminating. I guess the "culture war" will continue in earnest 🤷🏼‍♂️

@Would_you_kindly it's not too good to be true, I've bought games from them multiple times and they always arrive either the day of release or the day after. I'm sad about missing the My Nintendo Store pre-order bonuses but I won't pay their premium for a bunch of crap that cost them pennies to make.

I'm of an age where I played Pokémon blue on my Gameboy colour upon release, so it shames me to learn of this feature which would have saved me so many annoying random encounters!

@uptownsoul don't forget these are UK numbers as well, we're in the middle of a massive cost of living crisis and (speaking personally) I haven't been able to afford to get the game yet... which I think will be a big part of the decline in sales numbers. Couple that with the lack of advertising and a 30% launch sales decline is what you get.
I'll pick up the game eventually but right now I just can't justify it when I'm struggling to pay for basics like food and fuel.
