Re: UK Charts: Kirby's Return To Dream Land Deluxe Takes The Bronze In A Busy Week

Otoemetry

@nocdaes you're forgetting that the UK is football land and historically has always been Nintendo's weakest market, the reason they've managed to gain ground here is because the PS5 had such a difficult launch and the Switch was readily available over lockdown to the joy of many a bored Brit.

Seriously though football is drummed into you from birth that it's the national pastime and you'll participate whether you like it or not 😒

Re: UK Charts: Pokémon Scarlet And Violet Fall Out Of The Top Ten In A Week Of Stiff Competition

@tobsesta99 I'm genuinely saddened by the reaction to this game, I thought the LGBTQIA+ community had evolved a bit but actually what I've seen of queer folk actively antagonising trans people (over this game) has really made me wonder if we've got a community at all.
Like, I get why people love Harry Potter; I was one of them, my gran had all the books and we watched the films together before she died so I have emotional attachments to the series too... but you can't ignore the pain inflicted on an oft marginalised minority, JKR has poisoned the franchise for so many and to see how the blatant antisemitism (in the story of the game) is being hand-waved away is incredibly illuminating. I guess the "culture war" will continue in earnest 🤷🏼‍♂️

Re: Where To Buy Metroid Prime Remastered On Switch

Otoemetry

@Would_you_kindly it's not too good to be true, I've bought games from them multiple times and they always arrive either the day of release or the day after. I'm sad about missing the My Nintendo Store pre-order bonuses but I won't pay their premium for a bunch of crap that cost them pennies to make.

Re: UK Charts: Fire Emblem Engage Bags Franchise's Second Biggest Boxed Launch

Otoemetry

@uptownsoul don't forget these are UK numbers as well, we're in the middle of a massive cost of living crisis and (speaking personally) I haven't been able to afford to get the game yet... which I think will be a big part of the decline in sales numbers. Couple that with the lack of advertising and a 30% launch sales decline is what you get.
I'll pick up the game eventually but right now I just can't justify it when I'm struggling to pay for basics like food and fuel.

Re: Talking Point: In 2023, Do You Still Care About amiibo?

Otoemetry

@gcunit they were £10.99 back when they first came out, then Nintendo saw how much other retailers were selling them for and upped the price to £12.99... I did notice a few of the restocks came out at the original price a while back, but that has long since stopped being the case now. I thought £10.99 was pushing it but I'm in too deep now to stop with only 3 figures away from a full collection, thankfully I've only ever bought one amiibo for more than what Nintendo wanted for it and that was the Zelda Loftwing figure because the UK store effed up my order. Was lucky enough to still find it in stock on GAME so I'm happy to confirm I've never had to fill a scalper's pocket!

Re: My Nintendo Store UK Restocks Fire Emblem amiibo Just In Time For Engage

Otoemetry

@dazzleshell I very much doubt Nintendo will stop making new amiibo once the Smash collection is finished, I'm betting there will be some for the Zelda release in May and it wouldn't surprise me if they made more for Mario's next game release. I do think they'll go up in price again though, since people seem so willing to pay over the odds on other shopping platforms.

Re: Poll: Kazuya & Sephiroth Smash amiibo Now Available, Will You Be Getting Them?

Otoemetry

@Angelic_Lapras_King @RupeeClock I'm convinced it's all in an effort to avoid the meltdown over pre-ordering something like what happened with the Xenoblade 3 collectors edition, they seem to be doing better with stock levels lately (with amiibo anyway) so perhaps they feel it's better to avoid the chaos of pre-orders entirely and just shadow drop things like this?

Re: Poll: Kazuya & Sephiroth Smash amiibo Now Available, Will You Be Getting Them?

Otoemetry

@Bunkerneath I feel your pain, I truly do. I'm sure I've told you this before but when they first launched (after shutting down the perfectly functional but also awful service the Hut Group ran - the official Nintendo store UK) their systems were so bad they couldn't accept my flat number in the address section, so I had two orders sent back to them despite following their advice of putting my flat number in the last name field(!) which of course did not work. Then they were refusing my card for some unfathomable reason, they really are totally incompetent.

Re: Poll: Kazuya & Sephiroth Smash amiibo Now Available, Will You Be Getting Them?

Otoemetry

@gaga64 @MoogleMuffins @Bunkerneath @RupeeClock @Matl I checked the UK store yesterday afternoon and they weren't listed, however checking just now shows them as out of stock, how is this store so effing incompetent?! I have no faith I'll manage to get Pyra & Mythra knowing how popular they are and how ridiculous trying to buy anything from this "shop" is 🤦🏼‍♂️

Re: Review: Aka – Ponder And Wander In A Cosy Open World That Needs Some TLC

Otoemetry

Oh nooo how sad there are a few niggles holding the game back! I've already bought it as there was a discount and I had enough gold points to basically get the game for free, but I'll hold back on playing until these issues have been ironed out as I want to love the whole game as much as I love the art and animations.
Please keep us posted on the patch front, nlife!
