The only thing that can "save" the Wii U is better marketing. The twins wouldn't be selling as great as they have been without their great marketing schemes because their libraries haven't justified their sales yet. The 3DS's struggles are more to do with Nintendo not realizing the handheld market was degrading in the west (tablets are cool, game devices are for kids and weirdos).

@Quorthon Is your self-esteem so low that you have somehow tied the successes of the PS4 and X-One to your self worth?

Hopefully the cards get here soon, I'm not a big enough nerd to buy the figures.

The only way to stop scalpers is to just stop buying their stuff, showing how much they sell their stuff for is only going to increase the problem.

Is it just me or have the character models improved drastically?

They need an app but this is pretty dumb. The Wii U has a great 2015 lined up but it still has no mainstream appeal. It will be lucky to pull GameCube numbers which I guess counts as room to grow.

Even though his games shouldn't have been put on the eshop, I think he has potential. He should release some "budget" games for ios and android until he's got enough money to make games that actually have some substance.

I usually skip to the score and summary of game reviews but I think there are better ways to rate games. I like the four star scale (going by half increments) or a simple great/not bad/crap assessment better than the current 1-10 scale.

Oh well, whatever, NEVERMIND. (It's just another pointless award show that people shouldn't care about)

I would take this over Xenoblade X if it was released for the Wii U.

@Quorthon You do realize this is a Nintendo fan site? The people here function the same as any other irrational brand lover, rarely critical and mostly positive. If you're looking for more negative opinions, you should try another site.

Similar architecture between the handheld and home consoles is the way to go. This way we can get cross-buy/cross-play and Nintendo keeps its feet firmly planted in both markets.

So it will be GoT without the violence, nudity, and insane plot twits? Could be decent.

As long as they don't stretch themselves too thin, adding new "pillars" is great for the company.

Iwata needed a little extra recoup time plus they can discuss how well the New 3DS launch went in the west, end of story.

@CapeSmash I know I'm a wonderful person, people tell me that all the time. Everything else you said is wrong. Copyright infringement is the use of works protected by copyright law with out permission, infringing exclusive rights granted to the copyright holder, such as the right to display or perform the work or to make derivative works, which is exactly what these YouTubers are doing. They are in the wrong and have no right to whine when Nintendo is demanding to take some of their revenue (30-40% is a little high but whatever). These videos being free advertising is debatable, as they can help some games but I believe they have an equal chance to keep people from buying games because you could save you $50-60 just by watching (no, it's not the same experience but it's pretty damn close).

@NebulaGamer Your examples of how uploading gameplay is different from other media makes absolutely no sense and you should feel bad for saying it.

Starters are a pain in the arse to breed. Is there an actual reason why they are male 87.5% of the time?

First off, PewDiePie is an idiot and anyone who watches his videos is dumber than he is. Secondly, uploading gameplay is copyright infringement. It is no different than uploading music or TV shows without proper consent. And finally, it is not free advertising. Watching some dude play through a game defeats the purpose of buying it and I'm pretty sure Nintendo will make more from taking their rightful cuts off these videos than the "free advertising" will make them in game sales.

@BigH88 I think it was $90ish. I'm going to be honest though, if you haven't got an external hd yet, get something smaller. I don't have a chance in hell of filling mine; I doubt I'll even get it halfway full.

The Legend of Legacy has to be the most generic title ever.

I'm hoping for something like DDP that saves us money for downloading games plus offering discounts or other rewards for being loyal customers. Also, anyone bad mouthing surveys is a dolt. Yes, they are generic and if the next service has them they should be tailored for each game but it's not like they are time consuming and they give loyal customers, who Nintendo actually wants to hear from, the chance to voice their opinion.

I've yet to buy any amiibo because I don't want the figures. I'll buy the cards if they function the same as the figures though. I think Nintendo needs to release a killer app that requires amiibo like a Skylanders clone or Subspace Emissary 2. There's nothing wrong with its current uses but its sales are more for being decent figures than worthwhile tech; games requiring amiibo will change that.

I thought this Direct was one of the best Nintendo has ever done. 2015 is going to be a great year for gaming!

They should post these on miiverse as well.

@InfernoUprising If you are a fan of action games it is a must have, if you're not though, you may not like it. I think it's a decent game but it's controls are pretty unwieldy.

I hope Nintendo finally bowing to the extremely annoying MM lovers doesn't lead to more groups forming to cry for remakes.

It's kind of lame but whatever. If it was something more it would force people to get all the amiibos which Nintendo said they didn't want to do.

A better mural would be of Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. Just replace Mad King Ashnard's face with Putin's. (If you haven't played the game he takes over a country aptly named Crimea)

I'm not buying the 3DS version so hopefully there is a way for me to get this connecting DLC.

@19Robb92 If these games were milk, the 3DS version would be skim and the Wii U version whole.

@jariw Nintendo hasn't joined the intentionally-leak-something-to-stir-up-a-buzz party yet. This is just Amazon either breaking the embargo or making stuff up.

I've only tried the new adventure mode map so far. I really like the new challenge where you just KO as many guys as possible.

The first thing I will get is Tropical Freeze which will be on sale this week and then I will redeem my Hyrule Warriors download code whenever GameStop decides to send it to me.

Calling it the "new" 3DS in English speaking countries is beyond dumb. I'm still going to get it if it has good exclusives though.

These guys are pretty pee-brained if they think they can call this game Mother 4.

If this game and it's sequel were less, for lack of a better word, perverted I would buy them in a heartbeat.

Has anyone actually seen it on TV?

The Gamecube was strange but effective. It is ugly as sin and has those stupid minidiscs, but it made up for it with great games, an excellent controller, and the Gameboy Player.

It's just a patent, Nintendo could apply this to something else (its next console/handheld) or it may never see the light of day.

I'll watch Captain Toad for sure, I've seen enough of the other games.

It'll probably be riddled with glitches, run sub 60 fps, receive none of the DLC, and be full priced; homie don't play that. I might get it when it's in the bargain bin for $20.
