I hated STEAM's demo when I first tried it but I returned to it a few months later and really enjoyed it so I ended up buying it on sale.

I have no idea what your talking about when it relates to the drama of the two latest Fire Emblem though because their stories suck. Awakening's was directionless and only tolerable thanks to some plot twists and while I'm just a little over halfway done with Conquest (which I was told has a better story), it is somehow worse. If IntSys was less interested in designing the series for people looking for a substitute for their lack of romance in real life, the games would be better.

@CrazedCavalier I agree with almost everything you said except about Fates' gameplay being bad. I'm not a fan of the changes made to weapons and will be mad if it continues to the next entry, but IntSys at least de-cheesed the pairup system. IMO, Fates has some of the best gameplay in the series.

@Tiredman If you want a return to Awakening's gameplay, you will never get it. It was completely broken and pathetically easy.

Need to see the trailer again because it looked like the OG version.

I really enjoyed pokemon snap when I was little. A sequel would be perfect on the Wii U but it's sadly not going to happen.

@EllenJMiller I was more referring to media portrayals of women. The real world treatment of women (in the west) is much better than it was even though issues like bias and equal pay still remain.

I'm waiting for the day women are seen as human beings instead of objects of affection.

I skimmed this article so maybe I'm missing the point but Nintendo would be idiotic not to take advantage of people's nostalgia. These remaster are a great way to make a quick buck and pad a release schedule.

Come on Koei Tecmo, let me give you another $20 to get this as DLC for the Wii U version. I would actually be willing to pay the full $40 if it includes future DLC.

@Kage_88 Did you not read the last sentence of my post? Platinum makes crazy action games and this game has no more action than an N64 game.

This game looks nothing like a Platinum game and never will. Miyamoto is so focused on creating new ways to play that he created this unintuitive control scheme despite the fact it would result in bland visuals and gameplay. If Platinum would have had full control of this game, it would have been an insane action game instead of an HD version of the N64 game with bad controls.

You can't play with just two people? I may have to pass on this game now.

@amiiboacid If project guard was in the game we would have seen it at E3 and if you think StarFox Zero will be anything more than a large reskin of the N64 game you are being irrationally optimistic.

@amiiboacid I don't care about any of that. In my opinion, the game just doesn't have enough content to be full priced. $50 is a much more reasonable price for a game with this amount of content.

@Melkac If the waifu sim becomes a series staple then yes. The series will be dead to me anyways if Intelligent Systems continues to pander to pervs instead of getting back to basics.

@SamirMalik I don't care how the behind-the-times Japanese define rape. I have no idea why you think characters would be cardboard cutouts if one of the purposes of the character was to enable a fetish (just look at the uneededly sexed-up portrayal of women in other media). Incest may have been used for some weird characterization in older games but the only purpose to include it in Fates to let the players get in on the action. I'm not going to continue arguing with you so don't feel the need to reply.

@Monado_III It was my first as well but I have to respectfully disagree. There are chapters in all 4 parts that were miles harder than anything in Awakening. On the other hand, I didn't know bonus experience existed until I got to part 4 so that may have led to me having trouble on my first playthrough.

@amiiboacid I have no idea what that means, I've gone by two other names on this site: BieberBlows and GregDavisBlows.

@SamirMalik I know Radiant Dawn has an easy mode and if you have actually played the game you would know that easy mode offers more of a challenge than Awakening does on hard (that is not hyperbole and is probably why Awakening was nerfed). I haven't played Genealogy as it hasn't had an official translation but if it's one of the main characters that is mushing with his sister than I stick by my comment. The difference between Fates and GoT is incest and rape are taboo and they are used to make us hate a villain more or rip out our hearts when a good guy does it while it's deemed okay in Fates. Last but certainly not least, people have translated parts of Fates that indicate date rape. Also, unless I'm taking you out of context, your comments about rape accusations being due to shyness or embarrassment is incredibly distasteful. They literally come off as something Donald Trump would say.

@SamirMalik if Awakening was better balanced and offered a challenge, it simply wouldn't have been as popular among newcomers. The developers probably came up with Phoenix mode to counteract the new found challenge in Fates. And yes, I stick by my comments saying incest and rape (even though it's just implied) was put in for fetishes.

@Bagels Amen sister. While incest is common among royalty and rape during war, including them in this game was done to appeal to people with disgusting fetishes.

@SamirMalik Not the stupid side content, the pandering to weirdos. If Awakening was even close to being as challenging as previous FE games, it wouldn't have been as successful to people who played it solely for the waifu sim.

The stupid waifu sim is ruining the Fire Emblem franchise. How about putting all your effort into delivering a challenging (but not unfair) game where our choices actually matter instead of pandering to weirdos.

Takeda is definitely the best choice even though he is kind of old. Miyamoto is way too out of touch to be the CEO.

@KO-Cub That makes sense as FE's fanbase may have more mainstream fans than veterans due to Awakening but as a veteran of both series I don't get it. I'm disappointed as anyone that we didn't get a real Metroid but the outrage was over the top.

How can people praise this and trash Federation Force? This game is a disgrace to the Fire Emblem IP. Turning them into pop stars? Are you kidding me? Even if there was a rockverse instead of the idolverse and I could beat down someone with a guitar, I wouldn't get this. And what's the deal with people playing games for the "fanservice"? There is a much better alternative that rhymes with corn.

This game is nowhere near as big as a betrayal to the IP as Other M (which is probably why we are getting a game without Samus) plus it's just a spinoff. It hurts that we are getting this when a real Metroid is nowhere in sight but whatever.
