Last week we directed your attention to the opportunity to pick up a free Serperior for Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, in which you can input a code to grab the 'mon. That weekly promotion was updated recently, so those of you that missed it may want to jump in.
This time around it's the fire-type Emboar, pictured above - you need to use code POKEMON500 to grab this cheeky little chap, and it's valid in Europe and North America. Last week's Serperior is still available with POKEMON497; these codes will actually keep working until the end of November.
Samurott will be issued next week through the Pokémon Trainer Club newsletter, though we'll endeavour to be more on-the-Poké-Ball and post the code more punctually once it arrives.
Have you been picking up these freebies in Pokémon ORAS? Let us know.

Thanks. Getting it now.
Emboar?Why would anyone want one of the worst fire starters of all time?
I'm playing through Alpha Sapphire right now. Don't get me wrong, I'm having a lot of fun and I like the game. However, I feel like an old curmudgeon... I just don't like most of these Pokemon past the first 151. So many of them are just stupid. I guess this one looks OK though. I'll be downloading it
I am assuming that Sarurott's code is going to be POKEMON503 if they are keeping to the same method of Serperior and Emboar.
Genwunners incoming.
Thanks for the reminder, made me finally bother to grab them
@midnafanboy
One of the best*
I got one (^_^)
Free Pokémon = YAY!
@Bass_X0 how do you do it ??
Article doesn't seem to note this but these three pokemon come with their hidden ability (which this is the first time those have been available).
Still, Samurott's hidden ability is pretty horrible. I'll download them all anyways because they're free.
Even if one were to miss out on this they can always get one via trading for an extra from someone else's breeding project and go from there.
It's not like an event legendary or anything.
Starters are a pain in the arse to breed. Is there an actual reason why they are male 87.5% of the time?
Meh...
Inspired by the great Gannondorf perhaps? Obviously in his animal state!!!
@BieberBlows Probably because an overwhelming percentage of consumers are male and don't want a female starter. Just use a ditto for breeding instead!
I downloaded AS shortly after finishing Pokemon Y, but I haven't started it yet because I wanted to try to fill up the pokedex in Pokemon Y. I'd like to start this soon though.
@Kyosaii That's a shame because when I started out on Pokemon Y, I actually wanted a female froakie. I don't know why, but the thought of having a female Greninja just seemed kinda cool. Come to think of it, I wonder why they don't just let you choose the gender of your starter.
Gotta find out how to get on the internet over here...
@Giygas_95 if you could pick the gender, why not pick female for breeding? At that point it may as well always be female.
@TheGreatBrawler
Nothing about its design but it's typing is the most redundant. A nearly ten year span of fire fighting starters
@ShadJV
Well emboar has a more masculine design
@midnafanboy Except Tepig is worst than Emboar
Got mine, will breed a shiny one with the hidden ability sometime soon!
@midnafanboy Don't you mean BEST fire starter of all time?
Ah! I can't wait to get one on my copy!
I-If I ever had one.
Just got my copy and haven't yet progressed through even the beginning of the game, so thanks for including the detail that these will be available through November.
Got mine! Can't wait for Samurott!
Emboar is so cool... But he lacks both the defense and the speed to make use of his good attack stats. Really disappointing.
At least he's not stuck with blaze anymore.
i dont even like the suicidal moves that this hidden ability boosts
Good to see they'll be working 'till November, since I still have way too many other games to play first.
@BieberBlows They're so often male because of breeding. With a small chance to get a female starter, you probably won't be able to breed easily breed your starter and trade it off to your friends. Just a reason to make starters more desirable and harder to obtain (and therefore special) in casual, in game play.
