The press release that came with SEGA's latest video for 7th Dragon III Code: VFD goes to considerable length to emphasize that dragons are vile, deadly beasts. It's almost like they want to get the message out before something comes along saying that dragons can be our allies or something. Like what do they think we're going to do? Marry one?
In the world of 7th Dragon, at least, dragons really do seem to be a big threat to humanity, yet not one that can't be fought. The battles also look like they might be taken through time, from the past to the future of the story.
7th Dragon III Code: VFD is currently slated for release in North America this summer.

Its gonna suck. Its got the SEGA seal of quality that its definitely gonna fail.
Honestly, if the first two games weren't localized, then what sense would it make to localize the third one?
it has cat cafes... thats all i need to know about it.preordered
I do think this game just looks alright. Tbh there's a whole bunch of rpgs coming out this year on the 3ds and as I do want this it's not going to the top of my list. A few good reviews could change my opinion though but as far as I'm concerned both DQ's, Bravely Second, Fates, Final Fantasy Explorers, Paper Jam, and anything Atlus has planned for this year comes first!
I've been listening to this game's soundtrack, and it's absolutely fantastic. I can't get enough of it. It makes me more excited for the North American release. I hope you guys in Europe get a release too, as well as one for the 3D Classics Collection!
Could be fun.
I liked the Japanese demo quite a lot but my reading abilities are limited. Might get the english version!
This game looks right. The production values look like they are rivaling Fire Emblem: Fates. Lord of Magna, this is not.
Ok I'm listening.
Impress me with 7+ review scores and I'm all in.
Another game I want and I didn't even know it. @Socar Sega has always made good RPGs and they own Atlus. It looks good.
By the looks of it this is a turn based RPG, so I will be getting this for sure.
Fates feels like a step back (and almost too accessible), FF Explorers is way too MH heavy, Stella Glow is just Tactics with a crappy musical story. Bravely Default was fun for maybe half of the game.
Honestly, if this can capture even half the magic of PSIII AND IV, it's a must have in my book.
DQ VII is also much more anticipated than VIII (which sounds horrible compared to the original).
I don't know, I like the idea of Langrisser and some of the 3DS titles, but the Vita's still pumping out some fun RPGs too.
I really like Rainbow Moon, Trails of Cold Steel and Trails in the Sky SC, but it's all window dressing right now.
Ys8, Star Ocean 5, FF XV, FFVIIR, and I've yet to play Digimonstory or Megadimension Neptunia V2.
Still plugging away at SAO and Zestiria (the cutscenes and world are pretty fantastic).
My friend in electronics (another manager, I'm in the pharmacy now) is pretty hyped for Bravely Second and he's convinced it'll finish better than the first game.
I'm still not sold on it.
Personally, I'd love a sequel to an action RPG first (maybe a Spirit Tracks follow-up with adult Link) and on the New 3DS.
As a personal request, I would probably come close to a heart attack if Sega ever truly remade Shining Force 2. It's such a cinematic game, for the system it launched on, and all the cinematics were in game sprites.
It was amazing for the time and a huge step forward for the series.
Preordered it already. I love RPGs and dragons. According to Best Buy it's coming out June 12th. Also got Fates, Bravely Second, both Dragon Quests and Langisser preordered.
@arronishere But Fire Emblem doesn't have a continuation story unlike this one and it happened because it put the characters in Smash and because of how Advance wars did. And this isn't exactly what many would want to get. It looks average and it doesn't look like it'll be fun.
Ok so they are beginning to localize games, so what? That still doesn't change the fact that they need to deliver quality over quantity which I'm very doubtful that they will do at this point or even forever.
LOoks pretty cool. Anything with dragons will keep my attention until review scores at least.
Catgirls!
