So I have this preordered for pickup tomorrow, will cost me $63 for the basic pack on Switch with a bonus figure included. BUT it's only $80 for me to buy it digitally with ALL content, just no cool toys to life figures to use... tough call. For one I would love to buy the basic set physically I just wish there was a digital option of like $30 to upgrade and get everything else digitally but still have Star Fox and the Arwing in physical form.
@Wanjia He's going off of Switch titles alone. If you throw other platforms in then it would be lower.
Spider-Man is a great game worthy of the hype and praise, and Red Dead Redemption 2 looks great. Personally not that thrilled for the multiplayer only Black Ops 4 and will be skipping that one personally, but I know I'm in the minority that enjoys the campaign primarily. Still for Switch very looking forward to Smash and at least I consider Starlink a Switch exclusive for it's Star Fox content. Will grab that next week.
Would have been nice. This is the big reason I'm not picking Diablo III up for Switch right away. I've had to grind so much in this game on PC and PS4 that it's not really appealing at all to start over now on Switch though the portable aspect is really appealing. I'd love to even have the option to just have a one time copy of your Blizzard Diablo III stats to Switch and they diverge paths from there, that would be good enough for me. But if there was cross platform I would also likely pickup right away as I could have a higher level friend help grind me up to a higher level faster. Still I will pick this up eventually, and I am sure there are some new to the franchise that will thoroughly enjoy this. I hope Blizzard does well with this game and continues their support of the Switch console, maybe even with a Diablo 2 or StarCraft II remaster.
@Shambo Goldeneye 007 on Wii was a good game but it was Goldeneye reimagined in the Call of Duty engine. There were some elements of stealth involved but it felt a little too scripted with too much COD AI that I will define as enemies running blindly from one cover point to the next while being unphased by taking dozens of rounds depending on the difficulty setting. In Goldeneye 64 guards chat with each other and have regular patrol routes. If you shoot a guard in the foot and they hop, in the leg and they limp along, in the arm they shutter in pain for a few seconds, you shoot their hat and it flies off. Comically everything when shot would explode from a table, file cabinet, computer monitor, or even a chair. Shooting a glass beaker or window would cause it to break and shatter. Shooting a light source would cause it to go out and add more stealth. There are just a lot of elements to Goldeneye that are completely overlooked in these remakes (similar to how Mighty No 9 tried to but failed at advancing the Mega Man series).
Those that loved the game would like to just see a re-release or the visuals tweaked in a modern engine but most everything else left alone. Sure Perfect Dark improved the formula in unique ways and TimeSplitters was a good series, but Goldeneye is unique and was very influential to the console FPS genre. And while current games have improved on the formula in some areas, they have really overlooked what made this game so unique.
@BlueOcean Good points, not to mention being able to shoot out lights and have them darken the environment. This is just one of the many things Goldeneye did that you don't see in modern shooters.
@Graslu00 I followed the project through the years and I recall reading several updates where different people in the community had created assets for the game (characters, items, etc).
@BlueOcean It will likely happen though it will take until at least 2022. The original release of Goldeneye Source started back in 2005 and hit a snag when the lead developer committed suicide, it then dragged on for years with assets being developed by the community until an "official" non beta or alpha release in 2010 that they kept working on until 2016 with version 5. I think Unreal Engine 4 is probably the best way to go with this. But as these guys are doing this as an unpaid fan passion project it will likely take a back seat to their day jobs that pay the bills. Still it's a cool project and nice to see it progressing beyond the Source engine it started on.
Goldeneye Source was in development for a long time as well and worked okay as a modern multiplayer version of the classic using the HalfLife Source engine. This does look better using Unreal engine even though it's early on, and I would love to see what they can do with it. But in a way it also is depressing that the original game is stuck in licensing limbo that won't allow an official remaster to ever be done. The 2010 remake was okay on Wii as was the 2011 Reloaded, but it really just felt more like a Call of Duty game with a Goldeneye skin than an actual James Bond game. The original N64 release was just so good in so many ways, it wasn't perfect but the original developers did a lot with only a small team and two and a half years.
Interesting article Damien, and a subject that seems to be in the limelight off and on especially with Nintendo's anemic offerings on Switch (and previously on Wii U and Wii). It's a subject that should be talked about. Yes, I've played a few ROMs myself despite having a collection of hundreds of classic physical games including NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, Wii U, Switch, GameBoy, GBA, DS, 3DS, Xbox, 360, XboxOne, PSOne, PS2, PS3, PS4, Vita, Genesis, GameGear, and other consoles and games.
It's interesting how there seem to be a few people debating different sides of this topic. You typically have those with large collections that are fine without Nintendo re-releasing anything as they already have it all or all that they want. You also have the group that has some but wants it available on more sources like Switch or their phone and are willing to pay for it. And then there is the last group that sometimes claims to have "given Nintendo enough money" and is content with not paying for anything. I've heard arguments that "these are old games that should be free" and many other rationalizations on why they are okay with free libraries. And to a point I sympathize. Nintendo only makes available a few of their titles at a time sometimes using emulation to sell you their games on each console from the Wii, Wii U, 3DS, and possibly more going forward. And some of these old titles are very rare and priced very high with resellers profiting on them not Nintendo at this point, which is the way it is so I suppose I'm okay with that.
I like Nintendo's offering so far with Switch Online, but I believe they need to expand it to include SNES, N64, and potentially GameCube and Wii in the near future. Personally I would be okay with a Microsoft Game Pass style offering for these titles where you pay $10/mo and have access to hundreds of titles. But I also want the option to buy some so that I have them on my console forever. I have many of the titles I would rebuy if they were available. Some even justify that Switch Online at $20/yr is just an overpriced VC collection when that is only one facet of the service including cloud saves, online play (that sure we had for a very long time for free, even though they warned us from the beginning), and future discounts as well. I get that the service is new, only weeks old now, but it can use some tuning with a lot more content. I mean I and likely many others would be content if they did nothing more than provide all NES, SNES, and N64 titles that were available previously on the Wii Virtual Console to those paying for Switch Online or Switch Game Pass. And this is coming from someone who despite owning hundreds of old cartridges would still pay for Switch Online or a Netflix style library of games if it were available.
I would love to see this and potentially the arcade version of Daytona (or just the PS3 or 360 port) on SEGA Ages not to mention Daytona 2 would be amazing. I would easily buy any of them if released.
@Dang69 That's only going to happen if a new processor is used like the Tegra 2. Doing so they could allow games to scale to the potential of each unit, so for example Doom would run at around sub 600p docked on Switch and then on "Switch 2" may push closer to 1080p/30 at best. Splatoon 2 would then likely go from 900p to a full 1080p, same with Breath of the Wild. Some games like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe could then even potentially push out 4K 30fps especially if some clever techniques like checkerboard rendering or Nvidia DLSS is used. It'll be interesting to see what happens for sure as it will just offer more options for the "Switch Family" of consoles.
@dereq If Nintendo did a Switch Mini I would say it definitely would have non-detachable joy-con is the only way it could happen. Much like the 2DS from the 3DS, sacrifices have to be made in order to make a cheaper console.
Digital Foundry did a guesstimate on the new SKU a while back assuming that Nintendo would possibly go with the Tegra 2 chipset which would be a substantial boost. They have already stated the two (Nintendo and Nvidia) plan to combine forces for the next few generations at least. It's not all that impracticable to assume that a new unit may provide more power boosting visuals of existing titles to 1080p and beyond using existing assets. At one point a new dock was assumed could just boost the resolution when playing in docked mode and then the console would remain the same when undocked.
It would be great for those (like myself) who are okay paying a little bit of a premium for a better experience that isn't fundamentally different than what the base console offers.
But on the other hand simply offering a more powerful console isn't a very "Nintendo" thing to do. Typically new features are the reason Nintendo pushes new hardware. So maybe 3D, enhanced resolution for VR, etc would be a more natural reason for Nintendo to push a new version. It'll be interesting to see what happens out of this if anything at all.
@Moroboshi876 That's where I'm at too. I have a Switch and Xbox One X. I've tried the demo on both and the Xbox One X's 4K visuals are hard to pass up. For me I don't play my Switch much on the go, which could be the deciding factor for some in that case.
I love the difficulty scale of the game at least from the demo with normal being unforgiving and tough as nails but a beginner mode pulls you out of pits and gives infinite lives for kids or those just wanting to play the story, but with an easier experience.
@Eric258 I think your reason is true for a lot of people. It's much like watching and talking about an old movie instead of what's in theaters. What's older doesn't drive people's interest as much and our sense of materialism to sometimes consume more than we need. Yeah it can be depressing and in a way none of us "need" video games, but since our first needs of shelter, food, maybe even accomplishment and or friendship are met then we turn to other things like games in our free time. I like how the article doesn't really put a negative spin on this as there really is nothing wrong with playing games (so long as they don't consume your entire life). It's more of a question of why we buy the games we do and if we are buying them why we don't get around to playing them, with the article specifically referring to the Switch's vast catalog of games. These are all very good questions.
I fall into both camps. I have a huge backlog of games that I haven't beaten but only few that are "new". My new titles typically are specials I picked up for $5 in a bargin bin and never got to but play when I have nothing better to. But I quickly shelf those games when something better comes along. I find I have a few games I fall back to constantly Splatoon 2, MK8D, and others. I recently shelved some of my games while I beat the great new Spider-Man game on PS4 Pro.
I do have a lot of Humble Bundle games I haven't and likely wont touch on PC. I've broke the habit of buying apps as they get pulled from the store and or changed so they only work on the latest devices.
Obviously Nintendo and others will continue to make games while we buy them. But I agree I look at my backlog of games Luigis Mansion, Star Fox Assualt, and others just on Gamecube that not to mention others that I'll enjoy as I get to them.
But as a game collector I have many SNES, N64, NES, XBOX, PS2, PS3, 360, Genesis and others that I've picked up games for $2 each at thrift and second hand stores that have been fun to play. As a kid and teen I had all the time to play games but no money to buy them, now I have the opposite problem money to buy most of the games I want but not nearly enough time to 100% them all.
It sounds like he isn't the traditional gamer that most of us are. Having played through all Mario and Zelda games I can appreciate the things Breath of the Wild and Odyssey bring to the table. They both refine elements from their series in a way that feels natural and cohesive. Sure Breath of the Wild was huge but felt empty in a way, but having played past games they have largely been about exploration and puzzle solving above all else. So to someone coming from the ICO games they definitely draw similarities to Zelda games but are different. The ICO line does tend to point you where you should go in a linear fashion where Zelda has broken free from that, which could be unsettling to some. I've only played most of Shadow of the Colossus so I can't speak for the series but it fun and has a good story. There are likely many game designers that aren't gamers per say including Shigeru Miyamoto himself, though Eiji Aonuma has largely taken on the Zelda series.
I already have 400 something hours in Splatoon 2 and if for some reason I loose it all, so help me Nintendo... Also SMASH Ultimate needs cloud saves as well, right now the game is confirmed to not have them. Like the article states it should be on Nintendo to find a better way to fight cheating, simply blocking save data is simply pretending to fix a problem by not addressing it at all. Hacking already happens in Splatoon even without cloud saves so Nintendo needs to seriously rethink this for the community. I would honestly rather have cloud saves than not have them given their reasoning.
@AlternateButtons I'm with you on this except I did buy the NES and SNES Classics (both are largely available at local retailers now), but the N64 Classic is what I had dreamed would happen. I'd say the other strong possibility here is that some SNES and N64 titles could be coming to the Switch Online service in the near future (by the end of the year) possibly with their own wireless controllers. Time will tell, but the second preorders go live on an N64 Classic I am there.
I can understand why Minecraft isn't backed up, possibly for the huge save files. But I agree Nintendo needs to change their policy on Splatoon 2 and Smash Bros Ultimate saves. They have stated publicly that neither will be supported because of the competitive scene, but if my Switch dies and I loose my 200+ hours of Splatoon progress I will be very sad indeed. People are already hacking Splatoon 2 without online saves, and as of now they are the only ones who can backup their Splatoon 2 save data. Nintendo find another way to block hackers.
#WENEEDSPLATOON2SAVEDATA
I wish we could start paying for this service today, I'd really like to get my preorder in on those controllers (that cost as much as the NES Classic).
The other thing unmentioned is that apparently only the primary account holder can get special offers such as the ability to buy the NES controller joy-con. There will likely be other similar primary account holder only offers, so realize that going in.
Also going forward starting tomorrow you can't separate your Network ID from your Nintendo account, they'll be synonymous. Basically it's the only way they could really easily pull this off. But in doing so you can easily add family, friends, and freeloaders to your Online account.
@Silly_G Good points. I think some (possibly myself included) saw your initial response as a fairly one sided comment on where his priorities were at regardless of being a child or young adult. I'd say it's highly likely that he is spending time with family and friends as regardless of faith or being agnostic familial bonds are something most of us hold dearly. It seems to me at least that this is a bucket list type of request that he would like to do or try before passing on but is outside of his ability to do on his own short of Nintendo providing him the ability to try the E3 build. If it truly was his only desire to play Smash Bros Ultimate in this existence then I would think that would be sad and like a few others have said he would have likely chosen to continue treatment to just extend his life long enough to play the final game. But I don't think that that is his goal here.
Personally as a young dad myself I have only had my grandfather pass away a few years back at 81. He was actually more like a dad to me because my parents separated when I was eight and he filled that role for me. For me gaming has been a casual pastime I like to do with friends and family. There are always great games to look forward to and many good memories I have from them with family and friends. I have faith that God exists and there is more to our existence after this life and that I'll see the most important people to me like my grandfather again. If I were in his position I would probably have the attitude of that it would be nice to play Smash Bros Ultimate, but I would definitely want to also spend good times with friends and family outside of gaming as well.
@thesilverbrick Or rather $30 per controller with bluetooth wireless and a rechargeable battery. So yeah their not cheap, but I would argue not overpriced either. Still it would have been nice if they had been confirmed to work for a select few basic games like Shovel Knight though it's unlikely Nintendo would have gone in to that level of compatibility. These just sound like the Pokken Tournament controllers for Wii U that were absolutely not compatible with ANY other software, when it would have seemed that they could have been.
I'll still likely try and pick these up as I'm a sucker for Nintendo nostalgia, even though I already have a NES Classic. It will be nice to have the option of a having a portable cloud saved NES with online play.
@Zuljaras That's what it sounds like he is asking for. I know several Best Buy had them but for me and likely him they were impossible to get to. As for people telling him what to do he is likely already spending time with family and friends. This sounds like a Make a Wish bucket list request is all. I think he would be ecstatic to try the E3 build. Some would want to see distant lands or just Disneyland his request seems easier but requires Nintendo's help.
@edgedino Yeah but Nintendo's online offerings have been way behind the competition that has charged for years to build their networks. Games like Splatoon 2 have largely used peer to peer networking that can have it's cons such as higher latency, difficult to stop hackers and cheaters, and one persons slow network connection can affect others. It will take time but they will get there. And the price is not bad at all in my opinion. $18 for an individual or less than $5 each if you can get six friends to join for a year. Both Microsoft and Sony want $50 for a year, but offer more current sometimes good, sometimes bad membership games. Although I hate how Sony doesn't allow you to buy on a sale free games you received monthly, so if your membership expires you'd have to pay full retail to play the game outside of a membership. Microsoft has been building theirs since 2002 and has a lot of advantages being built over the last 16 years. I like how they offer 360 games that you can keep if your subscription expires. It would be nice though if Nintendo added SNES and N64 (or possibly Gamecube) titles to their subscription plan over time.
@wazlon It's Playtonic the former guys that ran Rare when they were a Nintendo second party developer. The game is great and I'm glad I backed the Kickstarter way back in 2015. But I'm really interested to see what else this studio can push out, hopefully it's not a one hit wonder. As for the physical edition of Yooka Laylee on Switch it's a limited edition physical print of a game that will likely gain value as time goes on. I really don't see it gaining much value, but who knows? Personally if I bought one it would be a cool collectible for my Game Room, but none of us really need it and it's sold out anyway. It's currently $39.99 on the Switch eShop but is much cheaper in physical form on other platforms with likely the same patches by now. When it first launched on Switch earlier this year it had many updates included that fixed what was otherwise a semi broken game on other platforms.
I backed this for Wii U and got a code for Switch. I also bought on PS4, so I'm good with not grabbing this one. If it was more available I would definitely consider it, but it's probably for the better that I don't buy this considering the rest of the games I plan on buying this year.
@BlackenedHalo I agree, there has typically been at least one per console and while Breath of the Wild was great it was a port from Wii U. I also seem to recall some discussion from Aonuma-san that the next Zelda would likely reuse world data from Breath of the Wild but flesh it out differently. So we would be playing a different adventure but in the same world (more or less) as Breath of the Wild. This to me indicated that it would be a prequel or sequel of sorts involving new enemies and possibly a different set of circumstances and world events. Either way I would be happy to see more Zelda on Switch in any form including a remaster or two of older games. There was an article a while back hinting also at Nintendo posting a job looking to hire a game designer to work on an unknown Zelda project using Unreal engine.
@Tasuki Yeah but Breath of the Wild was designed for Wii U and ported during the final stages of development. It's similar to Twilight Princess for Wii that was developed for Gamecube and then pushed over to Wii at the last minute, with Skyward Sword then later being created exclusively with the Wii in mind.
Maybe I just missed out on the arcade as I was way too young when all of these came to arcades so I'm not familiar with any of them really. So I don't think I'll be grabbing this one. Still having more games for Switch owners and SNK fans to choose from is a good thing.
When I was younger I thought the game that Konami's The Jackal was SNK's P.O.W., but they are very different games and I prefer the Jackal. As far as DLC I would love to see 1991's King of Monsters, that was an awesome game in my opinion. Aside from that SNK has always been about Metal Slug and King of Fighters for me, both of which I would possibly grab this collection if they were included.
@Stuffgamer1 I just died at that second sewer train too. But as I died I noticed a switch on the wall right before the train. Perhaps throwing videos like crazy and hitting the switch diverts the train?
@Beatley82 Yeah but probably the best way to play two player in arcade mode at the small size. I could see this being great with Street Fighter or even many of the other countless arcade releases on Switch.
@th3r3ds0x Same, soo much time invested on PC and then again on PS4 makes me not too enthusiastic about starting over on Switch. I really want to pick it up, but with so many big games coming this Fall I don't see myself having time to reinvest all over again anytime soon.
I love Diablo 3 and am pumped it is coming to Switch... but I think I will wait as I have it on PS4 and PC with SOOO many hours invested between the two. I don't know if I will be in a place to invest time in it this fall with so many other great titles coming out. I'll definitely grab it likely in the next six months though.
15GB is a lot of data on Switch (roughly half of the existing storage). But with PS4 and Xbox One game sizes on system even with physical media are still around 60GB required even when you are just playing from the disc. So while the game will play similar between all consoles as far as textures, effects, and scale, all things considered 15GB isn't bad. Really the big problem is that the Switch has so little memory from the start so investing in a 200GB card for between $35 (what I paid for mine on Black Friday) and $75 is a given if you are going to buy a good number of games on the console. Memory prices will come down and larger cards will become available. Just be glad Nintendo didn't take the PS Vita route and go with proprietary memory cards that have and will forever remain expensive (I mean come on, $75-$100 for 64GB?).
Already have it pre-ordered for Switch but this begs the question to if the others on the Star Fox team will come with their own ships and figures? If so I am compelled to buy them as well.
Well now they have to add it if they want me to buy it, and hopefully not as paid DLC. But in truth I already have Diablo on PC and PS4 so I'm not too anxious to start over from the beginning on Switch at full price. I'll grab it on a sale down the road I'm sure, I just really wish you could sign into the same Blizzard account on Switch and even if there wasn't cross platform play to have an option to import your characters from PC. Still I'm very glad to see Blizzard supporting the Switch and would love to see more content from them in the future.
@Tempestryke Same here. I've picked up a few here and there for my daughter, but there are definitely a few she would like here (and a few I would like to get her). But my daughter also prefers some of the less common Pokemon with one of her favorites being Eevee (and all it's evolutions). Aside from that Meowstic, Bellossom, Delcatty, Gardevoir, Kirlia, Meloetta and many others. I was even able to find her an OG plump Pikachu.
Even Nintendo has admitted at several times that they don't have archive data for at least some or likely many of their retro games. Perhaps at the time they thought only the latest games were making them money and relevant, when in reality these games have a retro sentimental appeal for many should they ever resurface digitally on new hardware. The closure of the Wii eShop spurred my desire to collect many of the games that I had as a kid to share with my kids. I haven't gone out and grabbed all of my past collections, but as I find them here and their for inexpensive I grab them. But with digital libraries the threat of loosing access to collections because hardware fails or digital repositories are unavailable is real. On IOS it has been a thing for a long time where old titles are just pulled including from your library, or patched so the game isn't the same as how you may have enjoyed it, which is a big reason I don't buy IOS or Android app games really at all these days. I wish Nintendo offered a service like Steam on PC where backwards compatibility is offered on new hardware and old titles are available perhaps to only stream and you only pay once. Still solutions need to be found for preserving games.
Hoping for a demo following the Direct, but it seems that won't likely happen. Still I can hope. But I'd also love to see some talk on any other games coming this Fall. Smash with a few GC controllers and the new amiibo will be a day one purchase for me.
@Heavyarms55 This article links to another article that mentions Grezzo is developing this port. They are the ones who did a great job on the two Zelda 64 ports to the 3DS as well as their original game Ever Oasis, so this should be a quality port. I do plan to grab it on 3DS, but I agree a HD Switch re-release would be amazing.
@sandman89 Same have it on GameCube but would like to get and play it in 3D as Nintendo had once hoped to release it. It would be a timely release around Halloween, I'm in.

Re: Random: This Unreal Version Of GoldenEye 007 Aims To Recreate Rare's Iconic FPS
Re: Soapbox: Nintendo's Maddening Stance On Retro Gaming Is Driving Me To Piracy
Re: Sega Wants To Meet Fan Expectations, But Unsure About Inclusion Of Jet Set Radio In AGES Line
I would love to see this and potentially the arcade version of Daytona (or just the PS3 or 360 port) on SEGA Ages not to mention Daytona 2 would be amazing. I would easily buy any of them if released.
Re: Feature: What Do You Want From A New Nintendo Switch?
Re: Feature: What Do You Want From A New Nintendo Switch?
@dereq If Nintendo did a Switch Mini I would say it definitely would have non-detachable joy-con is the only way it could happen. Much like the 2DS from the 3DS, sacrifices have to be made in order to make a cheaper console.
Re: Feature: What Do You Want From A New Nintendo Switch?
Re: Mega Man 11 - A Glorious Return To Form For One Of Gaming's Greatest Heroes
@Nintendofan83 Yeah Capcom really has gone all out with support for the Switch (and other consoles) since about the Switch's release.
Re: Mega Man 11 - A Glorious Return To Form For One Of Gaming's Greatest Heroes
@Moroboshi876 That's where I'm at too. I have a Switch and Xbox One X. I've tried the demo on both and the Xbox One X's 4K visuals are hard to pass up. For me I don't play my Switch much on the go, which could be the deciding factor for some in that case.
I love the difficulty scale of the game at least from the demo with normal being unforgiving and tough as nails but a beginner mode pulls you out of pits and gives infinite lives for kids or those just wanting to play the story, but with an easier experience.
Re: Soapbox: Why Do We Want More Games When We've Already Got Too Many?
Re: Soapbox: Why Do We Want More Games When We've Already Got Too Many?
Re: Random: Katamari Director Wasn't Impressed With Mario Or Zelda On Switch
Re: Soapbox: Nintendo's Excuses Regarding Cloud Saves Aren't Good Enough
I already have 400 something hours in Splatoon 2 and if for some reason I loose it all, so help me Nintendo... Also SMASH Ultimate needs cloud saves as well, right now the game is confirmed to not have them. Like the article states it should be on Nintendo to find a better way to fight cheating, simply blocking save data is simply pretending to fix a problem by not addressing it at all. Hacking already happens in Splatoon even without cloud saves so Nintendo needs to seriously rethink this for the community. I would honestly rather have cloud saves than not have them given their reasoning.
Re: Last Year's N64 Trademark Has Finally Been Approved, N64 Mini On The Way?
@AlternateButtons I'm with you on this except I did buy the NES and SNES Classics (both are largely available at local retailers now), but the N64 Classic is what I had dreamed would happen. I'd say the other strong possibility here is that some SNES and N64 titles could be coming to the Switch Online service in the near future (by the end of the year) possibly with their own wireless controllers. Time will tell, but the second preorders go live on an N64 Classic I am there.
Re: Video: Nintendo Switch Online Cloud Saves Offer Peace of Mind, But It’s Not Quite There Yet

Re: Guide: How To Get Nintendo Switch Online For Less Than $5 Per Year
I wish we could start paying for this service today, I'd really like to get my preorder in on those controllers (that cost as much as the NES Classic).
Re: Guide: How To Get Nintendo Switch Online For Less Than $5 Per Year
The other thing unmentioned is that apparently only the primary account holder can get special offers such as the ability to buy the NES controller joy-con.
Re: Switch NES Games Will Enhance Retro Experience With HD Resolution, Filters And Save States
@Likethepear Well unless you choose to mod yours (no judgement here) the Switch will have games the NES Classic doesn't.
Re: Campaign Begins To Get Terminal Cancer Patient The Chance To Play Smash Bros. Ultimate
Re: Wireless NES Controllers Won't Work With Other Games On Nintendo Switch
Re: Campaign Begins To Get Terminal Cancer Patient The Chance To Play Smash Bros. Ultimate
Re: Nintendo Confirms Free-To-Play Games Can Be Played Without Switch Online Membership
Re: Games, Puzzles And Stickers Await In These New Nintendo Activity Books
$7 to $11.20 each on Amazon.
Re: Yooka-Laylee Physical Editions Sell Out In Minutes, One Last Chance To Pre-Order Later Today
Re: Yooka-Laylee Physical Editions Sell Out In Minutes, One Last Chance To Pre-Order Later Today
I backed this for Wii U and got a code for Switch. I also bought on PS4, so I'm good with not grabbing this one. If it was more available I would definitely consider it, but it's probably for the better that I don't buy this considering the rest of the games I plan on buying this year.
Re: Eiji Aonuma Says There’s A Possibility The Next Zelda Title Will Be On Switch
Re: Eiji Aonuma Says There’s A Possibility The Next Zelda Title Will Be On Switch
Re: SNK 40th Anniversary Collection Gives You More Bang For Your Buck With DLC Games
Re: Review: The VideoKid (Switch eShop)
@Stuffgamer1 I just died at that second sewer train too. But as I died I noticed a switch on the wall right before the train. Perhaps throwing videos like crazy and hitting the switch diverts the train?
Re: Meet The Nyko Pixelquest, A Nintendo Labo-Like Build-It-Yourself Arcade Cabinet For Switch
@Beatley82 Yeah but probably the best way to play two player in arcade mode at the small size. I could see this being great with Street Fighter or even many of the other countless arcade releases on Switch.
Re: TowerFall
Looks good, apparently will be $19.99 in the U.S.

Re: Nintendo Was "Pumped" When Blizzard Pitched Diablo III For The Switch
@th3r3ds0x Same, soo much time invested on PC and then again on PS4 makes me not too enthusiastic about starting over on Switch. I really want to pick it up, but with so many big games coming this Fall I don't see myself having time to reinvest all over again anytime soon.
Re: Nintendo Was "Pumped" When Blizzard Pitched Diablo III For The Switch
I love Diablo 3 and am pumped it is coming to Switch... but I think I will wait as I have it on PS4 and PC with SOOO many hours invested between the two. I don't know if I will be in a place to invest time in it this fall with so many other great titles coming out. I'll definitely grab it likely in the next six months though.
Re: Fox McCloud Won't Be Flying Solo In Ubisoft's Starlink: Battle For Atlas
Re: Fox McCloud Won't Be Flying Solo In Ubisoft's Starlink: Battle For Atlas
Already have it pre-ordered for Switch but this begs the question to if the others on the Star Fox team will come with their own ships and figures? If so I am compelled to buy them as well.
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X's Elma Revealed For Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Available Today
Really wishing it was September 14th right about now. I'm holding out for the physical release and therefor have yet to try any of the DLC.
Re: Link's Gear Won't Be In The Nintendo Switch Version Of Diablo III
Well now they have to add it if they want me to buy it, and hopefully not as paid DLC. But in truth I already have Diablo on PC and PS4 so I'm not too anxious to start over from the beginning on Switch at full price. I'll grab it on a sale down the road I'm sure, I just really wish you could sign into the same Blizzard account on Switch and even if there wasn't cross platform play to have an option to import your characters from PC. Still I'm very glad to see Blizzard supporting the Switch and would love to see more content from them in the future.
Re: Every Single Pokémon Starter Is Getting A Brand New Official Plush Toy
@Tempestryke Same here. I've picked up a few here and there for my daughter, but there are definitely a few she would like here (and a few I would like to get her). But my daughter also prefers some of the less common Pokemon with one of her favorites being Eevee (and all it's evolutions). Aside from that Meowstic, Bellossom, Delcatty, Gardevoir, Kirlia, Meloetta and many others. I was even able to find her an OG plump Pikachu.
Re: Every Single Pokémon Starter Is Getting A Brand New Official Plush Toy
So why is Pikachu not pictured above? Strange...
Re: Feature: What Does Nintendo's Shutdown Of ROM-Sharing Sites Mean For Video Game Preservation?
Re: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct Livestream Coming This Wednesday
Hoping for a demo following the Direct, but it seems that won't likely happen. Still I can hope. But I'd also love to see some talk on any other games coming this Fall. Smash with a few GC controllers and the new amiibo will be a day one purchase for me.
Re: Rumour: Luigi’s Mansion For 3DS Is Out In October, According To Best Buy
@Heavyarms55 While possible, I think you are underestimating the work they do and the effort that is involved.
Re: Rumour: Luigi’s Mansion For 3DS Is Out In October, According To Best Buy
@Heavyarms55 This article links to another article that mentions Grezzo is developing this port. They are the ones who did a great job on the two Zelda 64 ports to the 3DS as well as their original game Ever Oasis, so this should be a quality port. I do plan to grab it on 3DS, but I agree a HD Switch re-release would be amazing.
Re: Rumour: Luigi’s Mansion For 3DS Is Out In October, According To Best Buy
@sandman89 Same have it on GameCube but would like to get and play it in 3D as Nintendo had once hoped to release it. It would be a timely release around Halloween, I'm in.
