@jrt87 I've never seen a physical game go for 90 bucks when it's released. And anyone who cares about games as an artistic medium should also care about game preservation.
@SpringDivorce having a future proof copy of a game and knowing that you actually own it is important for a lot of people. Also, it's just nice to have a physical copy of a game on your shelf.
Jeez! So many people dismissing the game simply because it uses pixel graphics. I haven't played the game so I can't comment on whether the gameplay itself is actually good or not but come on. Pixel art like any graphical style can have a wide variety of different quality levels and just because a game uses it doesn't by any means indicate that the developers where lazy or cheap. I actually prefer pixel art graphics to 3D and HD 2D but that doesn't mean I dismiss a game just because it uses one of those art styles.
I've already played trough it on both PS3 and PS4, but I'd give it a third go if they made a Switch version. It's a really good game and I'd love to have a portable version. Red Dead would be even better but GTA definitely makes more business sense.
Sure, the old icon looked better. But really, have we come to the point where THIS is something we get genuinely upset about? I could see someone who doesn't know anything about the game passing it up if the icon looks too generic but if you have already bought the game and know that it's good then this change should be a microscopic annoyance at worst.
If this had only been a "low-cost digital download" I wouldn't have bought it. You can get Street Fighter 2 in a milion different forms but having a physical portable version in HD with easy access to local multiplayer at all times makes it worth buying again just this once. I don't think the price is too high for what you get but I will agree that it is lazy.
Great news! I already imported the American version but I might buy it again if the European release includes any exclusive goodies like the stickers and NES style manual in the American release.
I love 90's survival horror so this could be interesting. It looks like it could use a few more months of development time though. Could still potentially be fun.
It makes sense that they wouldn't scrap the game when it was almost completed. I'm still not totally convinced that it will actually be released though, but I will get it if it does get a retail release.
I would have loved to play Epic Donald. The Epic Mickey games had some minor flaws but where fantastic over all, and since Donald is a much more interesting character this game could have been even better.
It's really sad that this series got cancelled so quickly when so many terrible games are allowed to live on. As Zero would say life is simply unfair.
I was going to buy this but now I've changed my mind. I already own all six games on NES and on the gamecube Mega Man Anniversary Collection, I want to support new Mega Man games being made but if I can't even get a physical version I'm not going to buy a bunch of games I already own.
As long as he doesn't let financial thinking get in the way of the creativity Nintendo is known for it should be fine. But I really hope someone with a background in game development takes over again at some point. I don't think many western Nintendo fans want them to make more westernized games though.
I'd have to say 3D World. I'm usually more drawn to retro games but 3D World has what I consider to be the best level design of all time and when you add the wonderful Mario style, 4-player co-op, fantastic graphics and superb music plus a crazy amount of content it has quickly turned into one of my favorite games of all time. Of course all the other Mario games are excellent too, especially World, Galaxy, Sunshine and Bros 2 & 3.
I love this game, I'd probably give it an 8.5. Even if you don't love it as much as I do I think it at least deserves a 7. But at least you didn't give it a friggin 2 or 3/10 like a couple of other reviewers. I mean, it's one thing if this is not your type of game, I can understand that but 2/10 is the kind of score that you give to a game that is completely broken. If you have even the slightest interest in this game please don't listen to those reviews, this game is excellent!
I don't get why this game has gotten so many negative reviews. Sure, it has a few problems here and there but I've played it for several hours today and it's been a LONG time since I had this much fun with a shooter.
Both the shooting and the melee combat is super satisfying, it feels more like a 90's or early 2000's shooter than a modern Call of Duty type shooter, and that's a good thing. The plot feels like a mix between an 80's action movie and a really cheesy anime and even if it has serious parts it doesn't take itself too seriously (at least not up to the point where I am in the story) and that's also a good thing.
By the way, back in the 80's there was this company called Atari who used to make great video games. One day a new boss came to the company and they decided to abandoned the console gaming industry and all their pre-existing fans in order to focus on the new exciting technology that people where getting into (in that case the home PC industry). But then suddenly console gaming had a resurgence and Atari came crawling back to their old fans, but by that point their old fans had moved on and Atari died a poor lonely death. The moral of the story is: If millions of people all over the world love you for what you do, maybe you should not turn your back on them for some potential short term profit.
Awesome news! I hope this game brings the story to a satisfying ending. I'd love for the series to continue but I'd also hate it if we got left with another cliffhanger that may never be resolved. They could always start a new story with a similar premise.
If this game had been presented together with a new "real" Metroid game I think people would have loved it, or at the very least accepted it.
Metroid is one of my favoritgame series of all time and like most people this game is not what I wanted for the next Metroid anouncement. But people are so enraged by this that I don't think they are willing to look att the game on its own merits. No this is not a real Metroid game and no this is not what fans where hoping for but Next Level usually makes incredibly good games when handed a Nintendo license and what they showed of the game and the Blast Ball mini game it actually looks really fun. I wish that it had been a new IP instead so it wouldn't have to be compared to Metroid, but I guess they where hoping it would sell better with the Metroid name. This seems to have backfired but guess we'll see when the dust has settled and more info is revealed.
It wasn't Nintendos best E3 but come on, they had good games to show and the presentation itself was fun. Sure, I think most of us wanted more but calling it Nintendo's worst E3 is just plain wrong. Remember 2008? Wii Fit Snowboarding? Robbie Drums? Remember that?
Guess they're keeping the next real Metroid game for the NX. I'm not 100% sure about this one but Next Level usually makes great stuff so I'm sure this will be fun even if it's not exactly what we where hoping for.
Darn shame! They are both excellent games that definitely deserves to sell well. Hope they sell better in the rest of the world, I live in Sweden and I bought both of them on day one.
The Epic Mickey games on Wii where fantastic in my opinion. Let's be honest here, nobody really expected the games to be as over the top dark as the concept images, and to be fair I don't think it would have been a good idea to make it that dark even if Disney allowed them.
The games we got where excellent tributes to Disney's past as well as great 3D platformers which is not exactly something we where spoiled with during the last console generation. The story was very well writen and actually had a mature edge to it without resorting to the tired dark n edgy trope.
I don't like most mobile games but as long as Nintendo themselves focuses on console games and just keeps an eye on DeNA to make sure that they don't abuse their franchises it's fine.
Just thinking about the NX (or any new dedicated Nintendo hardware) has me drooling.
I really hope that it's true. Project Zero/Fatal Frame is one of my favorite horror game franchises and the latest game looked incredibly cool from the trailers. I don't care if they don't translate the voice acting, just release the game in the west and I'll be happy.
The sad thing is that Ubisoft releases this game several months after the other versions when most people who wanted the game have probably given up and just bought it for another system. Then when the Wii U version doesn't sell as much as they wanted they will blame us and say that "Wii U owners don't buy M Rated games"
The fact that it's a FPS made me doubt it right away but when I read the words "action-packed gameplay" and even worse "co-op" my expectations dropped to zero.
There has not been much in the way of retail released for Wii U during the summer, but to be fair the same could be said for all the other systems as well. There has been quite a few cool eShop releases though, and there's a lot of great looking things coming in the next couple of months.
Bogus! I'd love to play a HD version of this awesome game but I'm not going to support the game if Capcom don't support the Nintendo fans who bought it at its original release. Guess I'll just play the GC version again.
Hopefully the immense fan support of Project Zero/Fatal Frame 4 (most notably the fantastic fan-translation) will be enough to convince them to localize this version. Can't really see any reason why they shouldn't
I can see that Itagaki still has his teenage boy mentality going. But the Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive games where very well made and stylish so I'm looking forward to seeing how this turns out. The gameplay looks fun from what I've seen so far and as a huge Nintendo fan it's always very nice to see new 3rd party exclusives.
I'm a fan of the original Burger Time so I'd like to try it but it was still 1000 points on the European Wii Shop when I checked earlier today. Maybe they will change it on thursday when they update the Wii U and 3DS eShop.

Cool! Just wanted to point out that Battle Axe is much more of a Gauntlet style game than a Golden Axe style beat em up.

Please please please let them release Trio the Punch, we NEED a legal way to play that game.

I can live with that. I don't like paying for online services since I don't play online very often but this sounds very reasonable.
