Haunted Castle is no masterpiece but at least it has some charm and the music is great. The worst Castlevania games by far are the Lords of Shadow games, although I hesitate to even call them Castlevania.
Nintendo continuing what they do best and continuing to bring in more indie developers is not mutually exclusive, they should do both. At least I think that will be best for them in the long run. The indie wave might slow down eventually but I think there will always be room for indie developers in the foreseeable future and having their support can't be anything but an advantage
@FilmerNgameR I would prefer a game with neither of them. They 're both terrible but at least a game about Big probably wouldn't take itself so damn seriously. So I guess the answer is yes, I would rather have a Big the Cat game. I still wouldn't play it though.
@PrincessEevee9 Well, maybe it's not AS bad as 06 but it's still pretty darn awful. Plus it stars arguably the worst character in the Sonic series, a series filled with useless characters (yes, I hate Shadow more than Big the Cat). Personaly I dislike all the 3D Sonic games up until Colors (which still was no masterpiece but at least a big step in the righ direction). But at least this is just a movie so maybe (hopefully!) they will keep going with the lighthearted goofy style in the games instead of trying to force their blue cartoon hedgehog into incredibly dumb "mature" melodramatic sci-fi fantasy stories
I had hoped to never hear "Dark and Edgy" mentioned in the same sentence as Sonic again. Sega where finaly starting to redeem Sonic with games like Sonic Generations and Lost Worlds and now they want to screw it up again. Hopefully they look back at what happened with Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic 06 and realize their mistake but I wouldn't count on it.
By far the greatest Hockey game of all time, and possibly even the greatest sports game of all time. I'm super happy that it's finally comming to Wii U VC. Now we just need a 3D classics version on 3DS
Thank you! I've always thought that Castlevania 64 got way too much hate. I'm not going to pretend that it's as good as the 2D games (which are among the greatest games ever made) or even the PS2 3D games but it actually plays very well and has a great atmosphere and compared to the piece of garbage Lords of Shadow games it's a masterpiece.
The screen on the Gamepad makes it look like Tecmo Bowl, I really hope that's how the game will play as well. I don't know anything about American football but I still love that game.
I'll just wait for the Wii U version. It sucks that they put money before us but at least they didn't cancel it, but the second Ubisoft abandons Nintendo is the second I abandon their games.
I still have faith that Nintendo will make a strong comeback. If they just give more incentive to 3:rd party developers and keep up the fantastic 1:st party efforts. I don't think they will reach the same level of sucess that they did with Wii and DS but that would be unfair to expect.
If they cancel Watch_Dogs on Wii U I sure as hell won't buy it on any other system, or buy any other Ubi games at all for that matter. But lets hope it's just some more groundless douchey rumors.
I don't think many gamers use smartphones the same way as a real gaming device, a smartphone can be great to have if you're stuck somewhere without acess to any other entertainment. You can play a quick round of something like Doodle Jump or Temple Run in just a minute or two and there's certainly a place for those kinds of games, but that's not what Nintendo is about. They make huge deep games that encourages taking your time and exploring and those games do not belong on smartphones, and they certainly don't belong on any system that doesn't have buttons. What I would rather see is: 1. Better 3:rd party suport (maybe giving them more exposure, and maybe help with marketing/publishing more often?) 2. More 1:st party games from the less safe and familiar franchises. We all love Mario but there are still thousands of fans that are waiting for more F-Zero, Star Fox and Punch-Out 3. More small projects. Of course we want the huge fantastic Mario and Zelda games but the excellent eShop has opened up great possibilities for the kind of crazy experimentation that we all love from Nintendo, and with smaller budgets these games don't need to be million sellers to be a sucess. 4. Why not combine the first two points and let more 3:rd parties develop games in 1:st party franchises (under Nintendo supervision of course) it worked out amazingly for games like Luigi's Mansion 2, Punch-Out for the Wii and Excite Truck and I bet there are many other developers who would give anything to get a crack at one of Nintendo's legendary franchises.
The Castlevania series have some of the best games in history and I would love for them to come back to Nintendo. But if the series are going to continue in the tracks of the unbelievably mediocre Lords of Shadow games then I couldn't care less.
As someone who's worked in the industry I'm surprised that he didn't realize how stupid what he's saying is. Nintendo is both a hardware and software company so it should be obvious to anyone that their consoles is a big part of their business. More importantly ,for gamers at least, Nintendo's hardware is speciffically made to compliment the games they want to make so if they had to make games on other systems it would impede the creativity that makes Nintendo what it is. The unique hardware is also important for their long-time fans and it's a huge part of Nintendo's image. PS4 and Xbone are systems that just improves the graphical abilitiesof games without bringing anything new to the industry, and I'm not saying there's anything particularly wrong with that but I can't see how anyone after that could say that Nintendo's continous atempts at revolutionising the gaming industry makes them "irrelevant".
By the way, if Nintendo's hardware is "irrelevant" how comes Sony and Microsoft always flat out tries to steal the new features Nintendo introduces.
Shadow of Rome was really awesome and I'd love to see a sequel for it. But all of the series he mentions would be fun to see continued, as long as Devil May Cry refers to the original games and not the groan inducing 2013 version.
I own both a 360 and PS3 but I was not a huge fan of GTA IV so I'm not planing to buy GTA V until the price is reduced. But if there was a Wii U version I would probably buy it just to help show that we want developers to release their games for the system.
I finished the game yesterday and I thought it was very good. The levels where perfectly designed for the stealth gameplay while still giving you the option of a more action oriented approach if that's what you want. The Spies vs. Mercs mode is in dire need of patching though, even after installing the latest patch the game freezes the entire system almost every time I try to play it,
I think Twilight Princess is a masterpiece, but my favorite in the series is still Majora's Mask. I sure as hell don't agree with him about making Mario games for iPad though.
Remember the first few months after the 3DS came out and all major gaming news sites reported that Nintendo was doomed, and remember how the 3DS is now a big success.
I don't know if reports like this are just meant to draw attention to get more page views or if the reporters are biased against Nintendo, or maybe both.
Really hard to decide, there are so many great nes games. My list changes a bit from time to time but this is how it looks right now 1. Ducktales 2 2. Castlevania 3 3. Ninja Gaiden 4. Little Samson 5. Shatterhand 6. Castlevania 7. Maniac Mansion 8. The legend of Zelda 9. Super Mario Bros 3 10. The Flintstones: The Rescue of Dino & Hoppy
