@CANCEROUS well as far as I know only 10 of 20 games have been announced so that may change but what they have announced so far isn’t the best. You could argue that having just NES games in itself isn’t good enough given the type of games that live and psplus give away every month but I understand there is a price difference so I get that the offerring won’t be as good. I do personally think it should have at least SNES games as well. As for the games, I had an NES growing up I’m old enough to know these games very very well and this first batch has a lot of the most basic first releases on the system with very limited game play appeal. Yes games like SMB3 and legend of Zelda are classics and dr Mario is pretty good but games like tennis, soccer, ice climbers really aren’t that great. Even the original Mario bros is meh. Look as said everyone’s opinion on value is different and to you these might be great titles but I had my fill of a fair few of these growing up and they were questionable even back then

Also regarding the voice chat in my view it really isn’t acceptable to be charging for online play and not have easy communication between parties. That is utterly basic. When it was free you can’t complain as we were lucky to get anything but when you are paying it’s non negotiable for me

@CANCEROUS value is different to everyone though. I personally don’t see it’s value in its current set up. The games announced are weak in general and the fact I have to use my phone for voice chat is laughable. For me that makes the price too high.

The iCloud game save thing isn’t the worst but it’s sadly systematic of Nintendo’s entire approach to this online launch. They should be coming out strong but everything seems a bit half-arsed. There are ways around the iCloud cheating thing yet Nintendo seemingly can’t be bothered as it requires more effort. The selection of NES games announced thus far is weak to say the least with some of the most basic and earliest titles(I am aware that this will eventually change but the fact that it’s not even SNES at launch is poor in itself) and lastly the inability to sort out easy and reliable voice chat in 2018 is absolutely shocking. I love Nintendo but this hasn’t been, up till now, their best effort by a country mile.

The game is terrible. They are clearly trying to throw it on switch to try and make their money back.

Hope we get a release date soon. Been waiting for this for ages. Looks fantastic

@MichaelHarvey ‘entitled’ is the new hip word that everyone throws about if anyone complains about anything. Don’t think Nintendo release enough games? You’re ‘entitled’. Don’t like a certain film you were a fan of? You’re ‘entitled’. Then comes the if you don’t like it don’t buy it special. It’s just the time we live in.

@AlternateButtons while I think theft is wrong. We clearly have a different base line on what I would refer to as evil. I personally leave that word for murderers etc. But each to their own.

Honestly think it’s a waste of money by Nintendo going after these sites. You take one down and two take its place. It’s like a hydra. Total waste of time. Just get the legacy products on the shelf so people have easy access and don’t end up stumbling onto these sites out of desire to play old games.

Can already smell the extra character paid DLC on this seeing as there is only two fighters

Super Metroid is def number one for me. First prime number two. After that the list is pretty fair. The only other thing I’d change is I’d put prime pinball above other M and hunters, it’s so good.

Isn’t social media great? Really brings out the best in people.

@Spoony_Tech probably now Nintendo are using their old library as a lure for people to care about their online subscription that want to make sure you can’t just get them for free elsewhere.

@GrailUK same with me. First was disappointed with it being only sonic not Sega, then the first trailer arrived and the tracks didn’t look great and seemed to play slow and this one just urghhh, no thanks

It feels a little early for this direct. Thought they would have more on smash around October. Maybe they are bringing the release forward?

When smash came out on the Wii u did it have a large impact on system sales? Does anyone know?

Not surprised to see this pop up at all. Based on those estimated system sales Nintendo really need this to hit big. Hyping it up as much as they can makes sense. Wouldn’t be surprised if there is some kind of pre Pokemon thing as well at some point. Personally I don’t really care for either game but I have more than enough to get on with plus spider man will be out around then as well.

If it’s not got the Nags head pub team from my local Sunday league then I’m not interested. I want to play as out of shape booze hounds

Not played a broken sword in years. Didn’t know they were still going. First few were excellent

Not for me but looks great for its target audience. Would have loved to have this kind of stuff as a kid. Really hope the software has long term use this time though.

If it’s just the old Hogans alley then ‘meh’. The original was fine for its time but really limited. Hopefully it’s a new thing.

@Agramonte yeah sold out at 110k is pretty bad. Mario tennis did 120k in its first week. No idea why they got the demand so wrong for this. It was top of the games Japanese players were waiting for chart for months as well. So stupid.

You put in low effort you get low returns.

At the right price I’d be all over this. Was looking at that second one on switch today weirdly but I’ll hold off and play this one first. Really hope they don’t price this stupidly.

@Heavyarms55 bare in mind that crash is selling on three systems and octopath on just the switch so third is actually very good.

@AlternateButtons not necessarily. May be a batch that got the chemical mix of the plastic wrong or something that happens to some not all. Not everyone had the red ring of death on the Xbox 360 but it was a design flaw that Microsoft were responsible enough to fix. If this is a design flaw then the fix should be free. That’s a big if though but I’m not silly enough to think just because Mine is fine that everyone else is either lying or using theirs as a cricket bat.

@AlternateButtons if it’s through console neglect then yeah it’s incredibly stupid to expect it repaired for nothing. However it’s it’s down to a design flaw then Nintendo absolutely should do it for free.

Honestly ,regardless of the console being in warranty or not, if this is a design flaw of the console Nintendo should be fixing this free of charge. It’s obviously debatable if this is the case though but if the number of cases of this rise I’d like to see a change in policy from Nintendo or that is just wrong.

Bad idea. We really don’t want the eshop going the same way as steam. Filling the shop with so many games that the majority are fairly poor and therefore the quality titles get lost in the shuffle. Sometimes less is more.

@electrolite77 your post pretty much sums it up. I also have zero interest in those titles but saw it as my own personal bad luck and figured the line up was actually pretty good. Was totally fine with it as also have more than enough to work through.

Honestly find the whole thing bizarre. If you haven’t at least shown your line up by E3 it means they won’t be out by Christmas is the usual way it is done and I completely believe that Nintendo had shown their line up. This does reek of a panic reaction to people’s concerns and complaints to me and by people I mean share holders. If they do get other games out that weren’t shown at E3 they must have already been done with Nintendo sitting on them to pad out releases or they will be rushed(which I don’t want as who wants a rushed and potentially bad game). Will probably be some Wii u ports or possibly a few higher profile third party ports. Either way it is very strange.

That explains why everytime I put my cartridges into my ‘famicom’ they would cook within 2 minutes. If only I’d known.....

@FX102A personally I think Mario Tennis could have done with an extra 6 months in development as well.

Is this the game that’s huge in Asia? Never tried this type of game before but looks pretty good. Hopefully it will help the switch out east.

Looked at both of these when they came out but thought they were overpriced. If they are doing a good deal on these I’d pick it up.

@Dogorilla yeah considering any seeming exclusivity has lapsed as it’s coming into Xbox, Square would be crazy to not port the older ones onto the switch. There is a real hunger for good RPGs and with the Disney licence as well they would definitely shift. Fingers crossed as they are fantastic games.

@Dogorilla yeah, this. Honestly considering the type of games that do best on Nintendo consoles, the kingdom hearts series should absolutely be on it. They would sell so well. I for one would buy them all
