@tourjeff yeah supposedly on the official site it says coming June 2019 for PS4 and Xbox one but if you go to the switch version it just says coming soon. Sounds like a delay.

Never actually got around to getting this one on Wii u so I will be looking to pick this up at the right price. Perfect for handheld play

@HollowGrapeJ yeah same here. Would be more interested in the base game for sure. I’d be surprised if rockstar don’t put anything else out as from what I understand the switch version of la noire sold better than the Xbox one....err one.

@nocdaes think the only reason we haven’t had GTA V is down to the cartridge situation and file size. Think if it was smaller it would be on there already.

Knew it was doing well. I’ve got a number of friends in the states who a few years ago wouldn’t go near a Nintendo console. Now when I talk to them they are all switch owners and play super Mario party and Mario tennis aces etc. Honestly with these people this was unthinkable a few years ago and I had been regularly looked at with scorn for continuing to buy Nintendo consoles.

@nocdaes while I’m sure those battlefield 5 numbers aren’t great you have to remember that it’s had a staggered release and has been available to some people for 2 weeks. Hardcore battlefield players had probably already picked it up. The numbers are def down though

Will be getting this. Absolute classic. Few years ago it felt like the shump was pretty much dead but the switch has really reignited the genre for me.

@BionicDodo yeah I did the same. Honestly can’t wait for it to show up. Really tempted by these collections and also the SNK 40th anniversary collection as that has all the Imari warriors and a few more that can be played in TATE. Have to say that Kickstarter has been amazing. Constant updates and videos on the product and where they were with it. Wish more were like that.

Got a flip grip via Kickstarter coming my way at some point so it would be rude to not have games to use it with. Guess it’s getting bought

If someone has bought the game and doesn’t like it that’s one thing and fair enough in my eyes but people saying it’s garbage who haven’t even played it based on its graphics or preconceived gameplay have zero merit. Remember when people were calling Zelda wind waker garbage simply down to having cell shaded graphics. People can be over the top. Don’t like the look of it then don’t buy it. Personally I’ve never played Pokemon as it doesn’t appeal to me but hope it does great as that means more systems sold and more support going forward. Win win

Wow, those hardware sales are impressive. Huge jump. Hopefully they will hold up there over the next few weeks so it’s not a one week wonder. Great to see. The more switch units sold the more publishers can’t ignore the player base and stick more and more games on it. Great for everyone

@Ooyah completely agree. When they put the effort in they got great results in sales. This year they have released fringe titles(I want to call them something else but I’m trying to be kind) and so sales are down. If they released any of their big hitters they would def sell.

@OorWullie yeah I prefer standard tennis rules as well. I was a huge virtua tennis fan so I’ve been looking for a game to fill that void but this doesn’t sound like it’s it sadly. ☹️ Thanks so much for the info

@OorWullie is mario tennis any good? Like you I’ve bought nothing this year sadly as the titles aren’t really in my wheelhouse but mario tennis was tempting until I saw some of the reviews.

Nintendo really need this to hit big to push those hardware targets.

I’d buy this or even the original if they fixed the resolution you get when you hook it up to a TV. It’s not good enough as the switch versions look better.

@Mallow oh I agree. People just saying fail or stuff like dooommmmed is garbage but it’s interesting to me to see the initial uptake and feeling towards the service especially as the low price would initially make it look like a slam dunk. Just goes to show when you have an established model of a type of service and how it should operate, people expect that regardless of price(however how unrealistic that is). Personally I haven’t subbed yet just as there’s hasn’t been a pressing need and the NES games haven’t appealed that much but I certainly don’t think it’s bad value for money. It’s def not that

@Mallow some people find the economics part of the business interesting but others don’t. Sometimes these kind of figures can lead to educated guesses on where certain products may go in the future or may change due to lower numbers or whatever. You might not find that interesting but others do and no one is forcing you to read it at the end of the day. Like for me if there is an article on Pokemon I don’t bother as I have zero interest.

@Mallow dude, what are you on about?? This is an article about the online element of the switch so people are gonna talk about the good and the bad. If this was a conversation about the solo experiences on any Nintendo console it would be pretty much universally praised but online gaming is and has become a larger piece of the pie to the larger gaming community. The sub rates just give an overall bigger picture of what people thought of it as a product. Don’t think anyone is claiming it impacts their life but we are on a Nintendo forum so strangely people are talking about Nintendo. If you want I can post messages about my life, health and family if that makes you happier.

@MysticGengar but the online is hardly top draw. No native voice chat, no messaging, no dedicated servers just P2P connection. So even if judged on just that it’s meh. The NES thing is ok if you are into it but it’s nothing new.

Based on those comments and not wanting to disclose numbers I’m guessing that the pick up rate was lower than the hoped. Personally I didn’t sub as it wasn’t really offering me anything I couldn’t do without.

@goggles789 yeah i agree. Using capcom again as an example they have done it right. Square often try to do it almost too cheaply by taking mobile versions or not taking into account different control methods etc. Hopefully their new releases of the classic final fantasies will be better put together. I like others also think they are missing a trick not having the older kingdom hearts games on the switch. Think they would do very very well.

They need to do what capcom did a few years back when it was in trouble. Get into their back catalog and release the classics. They cost hardly anything to port and it’s easy money until stable again.

@SmaggTheSmug that’s exactly what the problem was. That last final fantasy cost an absolute bomb to produce and they were fighting a losing battle right from the off. The director has quit and they have canned all the planned DLC for it apart from one. They need to revise how they produce games.

Really curious about how this reviews on switch as on other systems the reviews were all over the place. Some said it was bad other thought it amazing. Would love a good modern road rash so fingers crossed.

I find switch game discounts are never particularly earth shattering few quid off here and there but hardly ‘Black friday’ level that you find on other systems. Maybe it’s the whole cartridge thing.

@Kalmaro personally I totally agree with you but you would be amazed at how not clued up certain people are when it comes to games. If you haven’t been a gamer yourself some simply don’t bother looking into these things. Honestly lost count of the amount of times in the past when I worked in retail where I warned parents about buying grand theft auto for their kid but was met with a ‘oh it’s just a game it can’t be that bad’ rubbish. Now with added microtractions people and especially parents can’t be lazy about this stuff anymore.

I love my 3ds but I’ve never liked the design of the 2ds. It’s pretty horrible

Personally have never been into smash but my god people can’t say they don’t get value for money with this game. It’s incredible how much is in this. Think this will sell very very well indeed and so it should based on what I’ve seen.

@illmatic20xx think it’s a bit too early to say that. In a few weeks time when Pokemon comes out will be the true indicator.

Not subscribed yet as I haven’t anything in my library of games that I’m desperate to have online other than splatoon 2 but I’m not subbing for one game. Think if it had SNES on it as well I would take the plunge but nothing yet I’m desperate for.

@gcunit know what you mean but I think those numbers for Mario tennis and Kirby are pretty good and already more than those franchises usually sell. Think if there had been a new donkey king country game that would def occupy that middle ground.

Honestly I think that target rests mainly on the reaction to Pokémon. Smash games in the past have seen an uptick in sales but nothing massive but Pokemon could sell tons. Guess we will have more of an idea in a few weeks when Pokemon hits.

@saintayu I’m with @NewAdvent the implication is that if you like rockstar games you are mindless is pretty obvious. If you throw out a statement at least have the courage to stand by it and not gaslight someone when they call you on it.
