@NewAdvent I know what you mean but I do have hopes that the switch will be different. I think it’s been a slow build with Nintendo that has seen large third parties, for a variety of reasons , be very alienated from putting stuff out on Nintendo’s consoles. Increased cost due to cartridges on the n64 started it, then u had the small storage and specialist GameCube discs, then the underpowered Wii etc etc. Nintendo seem to have tried a bit harder this time to lure them back but ultimately money talks.
@NewAdvent the Wii was notorious though for, despite selling over 100 million units, having very poor software to system sales. A lot of mums etc bought it for Wii sports and Wii fit and didn’t bother with anything else.
They will go off sales numbers. Skyrim has sold well but Doom and wolfenstein 2 I have no idea. I always feel that it’s an unfair gauge the way third parties judge support on Nintendo’s last few consoles. They release paired down or really really late ports and then wonder why the numbers aren’t huge. I’d love to see them release a new game same day and date as the other consoles and see how well it sells. If it’s still low then I guess we are to blame.
@Syntaxkita actually weirdly enough I saw another report on this data and it said that Nintendo can only read your playing data when you are connected to the internet so it’s not logging that time spend playing outside when you aren’t online. Thought it was interesting
@ThanosReXXX yeah I don’t understand it either. You are getting a portable version of a PS4 game that was released 6 months ago and people are moaning that there is a drop in performance? I think it’s incredible that we are getting this game at all.
@FredTheCat personally I disagree. I don’t think it’s unreasonable for you to buy a game and expect to be able to play it out of the box after spending 60 pounds.
@gcunit totally agree. I’ll be buying it as to play this on the go is fantastic and I actually want further Bethesda releases. We really need to support games like this. They really have done a great job as well. Could understand if they had rushed out some garbage but it’s flat out amazing that this game can now be played on a train.
@Grumblevolcano honestly I based on some of the recent announcement I actually think there is a strong possibility it will be brought back. The switch for a lot of people is mainly a handheld but third party seem to be viewing it as a Wii.
Does this mean we might get ninjabread man, Jerry rice and nitus dog football and imagine party babyz ported over as well. The future is bright. This is why I bought a switch.
This is a funny one. I loved the original but if you go back and play it now it’s not too great. They have clearly based this on the original so don’t know how well this will play today.
Hmmmm I do want this to be great but I’ve not seen a trailer yet that really sells me on this one. The 8bit one was great but there is something about this that doesn’t quite click.
@bimmy-lee honestly I absolutely loved that game. It had all the finishing moves and everything. Was such a great coin muncher. If I ever won the lottery I’d have to track that baby down😂
@ThanosReXXX yeah same here. My brother has a mame cabinet with all the classics on there. Had that Konami xmen, Simpson’s arcade, the punisher, ninja baseball batman(amazing game), alien vs predator(capcom) etc etc. I actually play more old games than new ones these days.
@ThanosReXXX think captain commando is probably the weakest of the capcom beat em ups on the SNES. Prefer even magic sword to that one although not even sure that counts as a beat em up. The arcades had so many classics that were never ported
The base game isn’t worth owning if you aren’t going online with it. So if you are a splatoon fan you kinda have to get the online sub just to get anything out of the game.
@NEStalgia yeah totally. Never said he was wrong just felt sorry for him as he seemed confused to why people thought he was being racist. Thought id help him out. Weirdly now I want to eat some crackers.
@Anti-Matter don’t know if you are aware but you wrote ‘crackers’ maybe instead of the word hackers. Crackers is a derogatory word that means white people. Just in case you didn’t know.
@DABYX totally. The people that do this kind of thing are just sad, empty people. Imagine if the only way you could derive pleasure was through knowing you’ve upset others. It’s disgusting and the world has too many people like that for my tastes.
@XenoShaun this is a Nintendo news site and this is stuff that’s going on in the world of Nintendo right now so it’s in their perview to report it. That’s like saying if the news reports a murder they are promoting murder. It’s not how it works. Also there is such a thing as bad publicity. If you read 5 reviews of the same game saying it’s pants you are hardly more inclined to buy it.
@XenoShaun there’s a difference between reporting and promoting. Promotion would be saying the whole thing was funny or encouraging it which the article clearly doesn’t . It’s very clearly reporting it in a negative light. If you don’t want it reported then fair enough but the use of the word promoting is wrong.
This is definitely on my radar but the online has to be sorted before I will pull the trigger and buy it. A game this dependent on multiplayer needs to be more stable online.
@Joker13z all the Wii u games being ported are well worth playing as they are excellent titles. If you’ve not played them then pretty much all of them are worth a buy to be honest. I think the year hasn’t been totally terrible otherwise but not brilliant. Kirby was ok, mario tennis seems to be ok but I personally won’t get it unless they sort that online out as it has real problems, smash and Pokémon look good but I feel they were one or two titles away from having a very good year. In contrast 2019 now looks great potentially.
@Joker13z May possibly be due to people not feeling that there haven’t been enough worthwhile games coming out of Nintendo for year 2 of the switch. Honestly don’t think people would comment on it if they felt they had gotten enough from Nintendo. It personally doesn’t bother me as they are great games. The argument on whether or not Nintendo has forfilled expectations in the second year is another argument.
It’s an interesting concept and a cool one for kids to enjoy but if they really want to get people to try it out they need to price it a bit cheaper. For what it is made up of it’s hard for a lot of people to justify that kind of outlay for something like that.
They will make it a priority when sales dictate it to be. If Nintendo shift enough consoles for it to not be an afterthought(which if it does what it forecast will be more than enough) but also these third party games on the switch need to have good sales numbers as well. I hope the support just gets better and better as it will only be good for us all.
@retro_player_22 I doubt they would be able to get Fallout 4 running to a good standard on switch sadly. Fallout 3 yes, 4 no. Game chugged on PS4 and Xbox one. I’d take Fallout 3 for sure.

@Anti-Matter he works freelance doesn’t he? So if Square paid him for new work I’d guess he would do it.

Hardly their A-team😂

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend?
Gonna be playing more Yoku’s island express. The game is amazing and so addictive. Will also shoehorn some Doom in. Really want wolfenstein 2

Had this on the mega drive back in the day. So weird seeing it now. I remember dj boy as well.
Re: Nintendo Says Switch User Playtime Is Split 50-50 Between Docked And Handheld
I’m actually quite surprised at this. I’ve only played docked a few times. I mainly play handheld.
Re: Video: Cat Quest II Will Arrive In 2019, And Here's A New Teaser Trailer
@Anti-Matter maybe should have called it ‘the lupine empire’ if it’s about wolves(which I’m sure it is)

Re: 2K Announces Carnival Games For Nintendo Switch, Partying Hard This November
@AlphaElite summed up perfectly.
Re: 2K Announces Carnival Games For Nintendo Switch, Partying Hard This November
@Anti-Matter imagine better third party support. Like to see that one ported 😂
Re: 2K Announces Carnival Games For Nintendo Switch, Partying Hard This November
Also the original game on Wii had over 25 games and the sequel over 30. This one only has 20. We seem to be getting less carnival fun for our buck. 😂

@Anti-Matter do nickelodeon even make game anymore? Can’t remember the last one based on one. To be fair I’ve not been looking.

Like a good point and click. Wish the would release a monkey island collection or even better a new one. Those games were fantastic.
Re: David Hayter Returns As The Voice Of Snake In Super Bomberman R
The guy doing the voice over was terrible. Also Konami is really milking all they can out of metal gear and snake.
