Re: Looks Like RetroBit 6-Button Pad Will Be Essential For The Mega Drive Mini

Mr_Pepperami

@impurekind I agree that the 3 button controller is more iconic but I think they shouldn’t have put street fighter 2 on it if they wanted to stick with that. The point of a plug and play for me is that everything you need should be in the box. You shouldn’t need to go out and buy addition joypads to play certain games put on the console properly. Maybe they should have released two versions. One premium with the 6 button pads and a few different games and one with the 3 button ones. The fact that japan gets the 6 button ones is curious in the fact that the megadrive wasn’t half as successful there as it was in the West so surprised they get a subjectively ‘better’ package.

Re: Sega Ages Line Struggling To Appeal In Japan, Interest Overseas Better Than Expected

Mr_Pepperami

It’s really not rocket science, there is a ceiling on how many times people will keep buying the same titles again and again, definitive or not. Considering how many games sega have in the locker, many of which have never been ported or had arcade perfect conversions, it’s puzzling the choice they have made up till now. Did we really need sonic 1 again?? Start giving us Saturn titles, arcade perfect titles like revenge of death adder, outrunners, scud race, Daytona 2 etc. These will sell as they have t been released a thousand times before

Re: Random: Someone's Working To Fix SNES Shooter Gradius III's Slowdown Issues

Mr_Pepperami

@Shiryu that is a bizarre collection. Why haunted castle is on what is basically a shooters collection is just baffling. Also the region changes to each title are so significant in some cases that there should be an option to switch between the two. I hope we get additional collections from Konami as such a small numbers of titles doesn’t really show the scope of konami’s fantastic back catalogue.

Re: Mortal Kombat 11 Dev NetherRealm Studios Responds To Toxic Workplace Accusations

It’s amazing the bad behaviour people want to dismiss just so they get their video games as quickly as possible. This isn’t just a video game industry problem, this is something that has gotten worse and worse in most sectors since the banking crash a number of years back. Corporations used that to dial back pay and hike up work hours under the disguise of ‘we all have to work together to get through this’ as the economy has improved conditions and pay haven’t. People have seen job benefits that used to be standard shaved away, sick pay, Christmas bonuses and parties etc. We should be grateful we have a job....yeah right.

Re: Sega Will Reduce Number Of New Digital Releases After Facing $17 Million Loss

Mr_Pepperami

@YANDMAN yeah I wish we’d get a compilation as well but it looks like those days are gone. They love milking the single releases stuff for more than what they should be. Think as it’s M2 doing all of these they are perfectionists so take their time. They are probably bogged down with work as well. As well as all these titles they are on the megadrive mini as well.

Re: Sega Will Reduce Number Of New Digital Releases After Facing $17 Million Loss

Mr_Pepperami

@YANDMAN totally agree. There has to be a ceiling on how many times SEGA can release the same titles and achieve great sales from them. They should have been expanding their portfolio for years but it’s been the same megadrive/genesis collections and mediocre sonic games year after year while they sit on the games and franchises that people really want to see come back. Hopefully they will be a bit braver and release those arcade classics that never got home ports as id snap them up, as would many people I think.

Re: Sega Will Reduce Number Of New Digital Releases After Facing $17 Million Loss

Mr_Pepperami

@YANDMAN I think the ages titles are slightly overpriced plus I really think that there is point where people get a little tired of getting the same titles. They really have an opportunity to bring back some titles that either haven’t been released in years or at all but so far some of the choices has been a bit standard. I think that megadrive classic plug n play will sell boatloads as well.

Re: Google Reveals Stadia, Its Vision Of A Cloud Gaming Future

If it works well then I’m impressed by it on a technical level but this worries me greatly on where gaming is going. I have a horrible feeling that this type of gaming will be forced on us all eventually. They always hated the second hand game market as they couldn’t make more money, this will kill all that. As for the presentation it was very sterile to say the least.
