Would be nice to see some more announcements following the MillarWorld deal. I'm hopeful for a decent adaptation of Wanted and to hear when Jupiter's legacy season 2 can be expected.
One of my favourite game series, 2 & 3 already looked amazing so hopefully they boost it to 4k and include a stable framerate at 60fps. I appreciate I will likely have to play it elsewhere unless the Switch Pro can upscale accordingly.
@The_Pixel_King you won't see many Microsoft exclusives high on a sales chart because most people get to play it Day 1 as part of Gamepass. Halo Infinite sales will unlikely hit the top 10 for example
I will only replay a game if I'm chasing achievements/trophies for it nowadays.
I used to play games over and over, but that was more because I couldn't afford to just buy new games every week as a child and had to wait for birthdays/Christmas etc for a new game.
@sixrings that's not going to happen handheld and if it requires being docked to hit that performance benchmark then just buy a base Xbox1 for a fraction of the price.
At this point people are going to end up disappointed once a switch "pro" is officially announced.
Most of the features people are asking for would need a new console (switch 2 ?) and not a mid cycle upgrade - especially when it would put it closer to the PS5 & XsX price bracket, whilst delivering last gen specs.
We got it from very, the Mrs had £30 off for making an account so we got 2 copies for £70. I got all of the MHR pre order stuff from Very, so we may get these as well.
I like Indy games when they are given free with PS+ or Gamepass but I very rarely feel they are worth buying. Apart from SilkSong which will be a day buy (deluxe edition of available) - Hollow Knight is one of my favourite all time games.
@nhSnork I only play over WiFi - either at home or in Work. I've had a few instances of stutter but not enough to cause any serious issues - I pop my phone into aeroplane mode to reset the WiFi and it works great afterwards.
@MarioBrickLayer the best we could hope for for a switch Pro would be a steady 30fps upscaled to 1080 and possibly 60 fps upscaled to1440 (at a push). We will be nearer the PS4 and Xb1 than current gen I reckon. I'm hoping the new switch doesn't have exclusives that won't run on the Lite, and if it does why didn't Nintendo just make a full on upgraded Switch 2
@brunojenso I'm not saying I want a handheld PS5 but everyone is asking for a 4k Switch when the current model can't even handle 60 FPS @ 1080p - Look at Monster Hunter Rise it only just scrapes by in HD docked. What is a 4k upscale going to do without a significant power boost to aid performance.
As for price, The series S is already cheaper than the current Switch and if Nintendo increase the price by even 20% the new one is going to creep up towards the Series X and PS5. I would rather pay more and have something that is worth playing on than a £300 console that spends more time sat in the drawer than in use, like my current Switches do.
Got 2 copies of Mario Golf ordered to play Multiplayer with the MRS. Everything else that grabs my fancy like Ninja Gaiden I will pick up on Xbox for better performance.
I'm not interested in a slight visual upgrade. The only way I would buy this is if it can handle current gen ports without the downgrades and can run exclusive games at a steady 60FPS
@nhSnork not sure about the Surface Duo but I grabbed the Razer Kishi for my Galaxy. It's amazing being able to play big AAA games portable without downgrades. I also get a lot of the bigger Indy games included for free with my gamepass subscription. My switch is now used just for the exclusives I can't play elsewhere.
I was wondering when you guys would report on this after seeing it on Pure Xbox yesterday. Its great being able to play games like Outer World and Doom Eternal portable, without having to put up with the Switch downgrades.
Kind of disappointing this sold so well. Nintendo will take it as a sign to port more DS games with a hyper inflated price tag instead of putting effort into new content. Hopefully they have something good to show at E3 apart from ports and sequels - Where's the Nintendo ingenuity gone?
Great for the collectors but im pretty much fully digital at this point. I just prefer the convenience of not having to swap games out and can take my collection with me to play in work.
I'm just hoping that Nintendo allows full switch backwards compatibility with their next gen console so I can carry my game library forward like with my Xbox.
Its a fun game but unless you enjoy getting smashed it's 100% required that you have a mic and communicate with your team. I was playing on Xbox where its free as part of Gamepass and I used the Club Page to find Teams to play with which significant cut down on the frustration of playing with randoms. Saying that there isn't a lot on offer and it gets boring after a few rounds as you just grind for cosmetics. I'm glad I haven't had to pay as Its not a game I can myself playing Longterm as it gets repetitive after a couple of hours.
I think NL is covertly sponsored by Game Pass and usingsubconsciousmarketingtechniquesto drive sales onto the xbox platfor.- Yesterday an article I read on this site resulted in me downloading Rare Replay and now this one has resulted in a download for Steep. Coincidence, I think not!!!
@CactusMan everyone uses Witcher and Doom as examples of what can run on Switch but both are old games that run really poorly on the hardware - Doom in particular is rough looking. Newer games struggle to get upto modern HD resolution full stop. MHR, Immortals FR & CB4 are all 720 docked and sub HD handheld. It was this that I was alluding towards with my og comment about a new 1080 game.
@RadioHedgeFund so what about Skyward Sword Link not also including this feature or having any interaction with the game at all. How does that carry on giving with future titles?
We stopped buying boosters as its much cheaper to just buy the cards you want separately rather than waiting on a random chance of getting the cards you need to uild a deck. Especially when the Mrs refuses to use anything apart from Fairy types.
@nhSnork so what does the Switch do that the wii-U couldn't - apart from having the ability to play it undocked away from home? It feels to me that the switch is the wii-U equivalent of a PS4 pro - the same console with a few QoL upgrades and a little bit more power.
Calling it a 9th gen machine Is completely ignoring the fact that it can't even handle 8th gen (ps4/XB1) games without major downgrades and recent exclusives like MHR run sub HD handheld and only just manage to hit basic HD when docked. There's nothing wrong with it being last gen, that doesn'tmean it's not still currently viable. It's an amazing handheld console that links up to the TV.
@nhSnork The eighth generation of video game consoles began in 2012, and consists of four home video game consoles: the Wii U released in 2012, the PlayStation 4 family in 2013, the Xbox One family in 2013, and the Nintendo Switch in 2017.
Taken from Wikipedia but most other sites mirror the same view. In fairness the switch is pretty much just a repackaged wii-U anyway
@TheWingedAvenger is nt just about graphics. Look at The Medium, it's effectively running two game worlds side by side where your actions impact each one at the same time - that couldn't have been achieved with older tech. I'm really intrigued to see what new game mechanics developers can get from the extra power available.
@Ludovsky I think I've got lazy but I much prefer being able to send out a quick "invite to party and game" when I log on and be done with it. Its probably why I don't bother too much with MP on the Switch.
@LA_Blue or I can just continue to play MHW, Left 4 Dead 2 and Zombie Army 4 on Xbox with native voice chat. Having to go through Discord and then mess around arranging a game via the lobby system instead of just sending a game/party invite is extra steps I don't need.
I cant get hold of a Series X or PS5 and have been trying since launch. I did grab a Series S though to tide me over until I can get hold of the other systems.
The Switches are readily available which will definitely help sales at present but this will likely drop off once curewnt gen I readily available and new games start dropping. Let's see what E3 brings in term of PS5/XsX game announcements.

Re: Video: 14 Exciting New Games Coming To Nintendo Switch In June
@anoyonmus 4k vs 720 and its showing as 60fps+ on the Microsoft store so could have a 120fps mode on new gen consoles.
Re: Random: Someone 3D Printed Their Very Own Crash Bandicoot Smash Bros. amiibo
Without NFC functionality this is just a 3D printed model and not an Amiibo.

Re: Talking Point: What Do You Think The "Switch Pro" Will Actually Be Called?
Super Switch 4k Ultimate Arcade Edition

Really looking forward to this game, will be grabbing it day 1.
That collector's edition is ridiculously overpriced for what's included.

Re: Crytek Seems To Be Teasing Something Related To Crysis 2...
Crysis 2 is one of my favourite games.
Hopefully if we get a reboot, it's going to be a PS5 XsX version rather than being held back by last gen consoles like the first remaster was.

@CactusMan steep has not long received a new gen update so might give that a go to scratch that 1080 itch after reading this article.

@westman98 it depends on how they approach it, Monster Hunter Rise performs worse than BotW for example.
Re: 1080° Snowboarding Creator Would Be Happy To Bring The Series To Switch
1080 Snowboarding on Switch, more like 720 snowboarding docked and 540 snowboarding handheld!
Re: Talking Point: amiibo Have Always Been Physical DLC, Skyward Sword HD Is No Different

Ive just managed to get hold of one.
Shop to has UK stock if anyone wants one but grab it fast before it sells out like it did on Amazon
Edit: looks like its sold out now.
Re: Talking Point: amiibo Have Always Been Physical DLC, Skyward Sword HD Is No Different
Where's the option for I'm buying it, but will resell it for profit once I've finished the game and have no more use for plastic tat.

@nhSnork Switch is an 8th gen Console. Another reason the switch is outselling everything else is that most households have multiple Switches/Lites.
