@JR150 it would hobble the other versions if they were held back 2 generations just for the switch unless it followed some more current releases and was stream only. The switch can't even run PS4 era games without massive compromises being made, what chance does it have as the generation gap widens.
@Shadeon_Koopa I just went for the basic game as I'm still unsure if I'm going to like it or not (loved world, hated Generations Ultimate). I decided to pick up the new Xbox Wireless Headset instead of having an amiibo that will just collect dust.
My mam got trapped in Cyprus by the lockdown so hasn't been home for 18 months. Her, my wife, 2 sisters and niece have all bought Switches along with Animal Crossing (I just picked up the game as I already had the console) and have played together for the last year, meeting up and having parties on the different islands. It's helped everyone stay close even when apart xx
Need to finish Celeste to get it out of the way and then I'm going to try and blast through Journey to the Savage Planet before it gets taken off of GamePass. Nothing much on switch until MHR next week.
@RupeeClock 170% markup for a 3 hour game just because its on a cartridge is ridiculous no matter how many people are involved. I might buy as many copies as I can and hold them for six months before flipping them - thats not scalping, I'm just including an additional storage fee
I only play my switch intermittently so whenever I pick it up I spend the first few minutes backing out of menus because for me (I spend way more time nowadays on the PS4 and more recently on Xbox) the accept button is in the wrong place.
I know that's how it's always been on the Nintendo controller but it's still a minor annoyance.
They need to add EA Play to switch, surely the 360 era games should run without an issues. I would also be happy streaming games like battlefront or battlefield if they can get a stable connection for online matches.
Just what we need on the switch, more games that have been given away free multiple times getting ported over with a full price entry point. I would rather see new games that I haven't played elsewhere, and the lack of trophies/achievements give me little reason to double dip.
Steamforged make some really nice games, I used to play Guild Ball competitively and both Horizon and Dark Souls were really good quality and played really well.
I havnt played any of their card games but if they put as much care and thought into the sonic franchise it could be a decent game.
@RupeeClock no official announcement if they are definitely coming though? Might just grab them tonight then instead of waiting on the off chance I can grab a set.
I bet a lot of the people who are refusing to buy this as they don't buy digital are the same ones complaining that they won't be able to buy the digital version of 3D Allstars next month.
That Tigress brings all the furries to the yard
And they're like, it's better than yours
Damn right it's better than yours!
I could draw it but I'd have to charge.
@COVIDberry the witcjer is good but way overpriced on switch, Amalur is due our any time now (it was £30 new at release on ps4 so should be somewhere around that price) and that's the game I would recommend - its like fable crossed Skyrim with Todd Mcfarlane's artwork.
@COVIDberry it's probably just me but I got fed up traipsing around empty landscapes. If it had been left to the elements forr 100 years like the Lore said then why wasn't there more vegetation? Who was going around mowing hundreds of acres of fields? Compare with other open world RPG's like Witcher, Amalur and Fallout - you can't help but get sidetracked on your way somewhere with either an interesting looking locale or someone giving you a side quest. In botw you have rain that drags out climbing to a mind numbing chore and the same 5 or 6 puzzles stretched out over 120 shrines. im pretty certain if this didn't have the Zelda branding it wouldn't have done 1/2 as well.
This just highlights how empty and sparse Hyrule is. One of the reasons i got bored of the game was there was just vast expanses of nothing bit flat grass and the odd tree.
@superguy123 all companies just want your money and will look at ways to maximise profit streams, its not worth getting worked up over. Buy the games that you want to play and don't think about the corporate politics, its supposed to be a hobby.
I use my switch for first party Nintendo games and hardly ever buy third party on it because they are always overly expensive and don't drop in price, so things like this don't bother me. In fact this has actually turned out great, I've not long bought a Series S with gamepass so I will finally get to play Octopath
@superguy123 Guess i wont support fake exclusives from square anymore.
I guess you won't be playing Ori or Cuphead on the switch either then as both of those were "fake" Xbox exclusives.
Nintendo probably has the strongest first party line up so I have no idea why people get worked up about third party games going multi platform - its good that people who don't have a switch get to play them.
@Dman10 Somehow I sense that at some point the Xbox version will be cheaper than Switch version even though it coming to Xbox much later. Love that Switch tax
The xbox version will be launching cheaper than Switch, its free on GamePass.
Wish these did more than just pure decoration. Would be fun if you could play the original Mario or other NES games on them - you could buy different ones for different games.
I've wanted to get this for a while but refused to pay full price for such an old game and now I can play it for free. Its making me wonder what kind of deal Square Enix and Microsoft have got going with this now coming to Gamepass and Outriders Day 1.
@Clyde_Radcliffe I havnt played Miles Morales yet (I'm waiting until I can grab a PS5) but Spiderman was one of my favourite games of last gen and an epic open world adventure. Saying that I am a massive Spiderman fan (Amazing is the only Marvel comic left on my monthly subscription) so I could be biased - it's also looking like they also implemented Taskmaster better than they have in the black widow movie.
@MetalMan that's a rubbish argument considering the switch has turned out to be one of the most expensive consoles I've ever owned because of all of the hidden charges.
Switch: £300
Pro controller: £60
New set of joy cons because of drift: £65
Micro SD card 256gb: £50
Switch Lite (because Mrs wanted her own AC island): £200
That's £675 before I even take into account the inflated prices of the software or additional accessories (grips, cases etc) I've purchased.
I hardly play on my switch, so it was a kick in the teeth that we couldn't share a console to play Animal Crossing.
@Chris55 the average 10 year old isn't the target market for upgraded hardware - unless it runs fortnite @ 120FPS (My nephew genuinely wants a PS5 just because it runs a F2P game at higher frame rates ffs).
@kobashi100 if the next switch doesn't have a significant power upgrade how many people are actually going to bother upgrading and that will come at a premium. I dont see the point in them releasing another underpowered console and still being left behind by third party devs - especially when focus inevitably turns to current gen consoles instead of skirting last gen like present releases.

Re: Video: Here's Digital Foundry's Technical Analysis Of Apex Legends On Switch
@JR150 I doubt Titanfall 3 would run on Switch (or even the pro). Its not even in development yet, so it would likely be a PS5 and XsX/S game.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 20th)

Nothing much on switch until MHR next week.
Re: Video: Check Out This Unboxing Of The Monster Hunter Rise Collector's Edition
I'm glad I cancelled my pre order and went for the standard edition as this definitely isn't worth the money for the extra pin.
Re: Shin Megami Tensei III Remaster Launches This May On Switch
Will hold off and pick it up in the autumn PlayStation sale unless it's cheaper on switch by then.

Re: Brothers: A Tale Of Two Sons Gets Physical Release
That's a steep price hike, its only £10 digital.
These guys over charge worse than scalpers.
Re: Talking Point: The Problem With The X Button
@johnvboy weirdly when I'm using the xbox cloud app I back out a lot because the Razor Kishi feels like a switch in your hands.

Re: Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection's Getting A Fancy Digital Deluxe Edition
How much is the digital version on Switch, it keeps saying not available when I look on Nintendo's website.

@zander_dale I missed everything, seen this and when I went back the comment had been deleted and I suppose any responses had gone as well.

Re: Sonic The Hedgehog's Getting Its Own Physical Card Game
@HotGoomba what about Exploding Kittens?
Re: Capcom Switch And 3DS Sale Discounts Monster Hunter, Mega Man, Resident Evil And More (North America)
I see they didn't put MHGU up on sale, afraid the old gameplay puts people off grabbing Rise I suppose.

@Kimyonaakuma at least I don't have to feel guilty using Tagmo or grabbing spoofed cards off of Etsy if Nintendo doesn't make them readily available.

@Chlocean might start picking them up then. Although it might feel like scalping if I'm only buying them to turn a profit at a later date.

Re: Random: Did You Know You Can 'Steal' Your Friends' Clones In Super Mario 3D World?
@RandomGamesAndStuff that would be quite difficult, I sold my switch because I never hooked it up to the TV and got us 2 Lites.
Re: Random: Did You Know You Can 'Steal' Your Friends' Clones In Super Mario 3D World?
Hopefully they patch in online matchmaking and I will pick it up.
I'm not buying 2 copies to play with the Mrs as we played it to death on wii-U.
Re: Poll: Rate Your Favourite Game Boy Advance Games
They should have added GBA games to the NSO library, or at least the titles that were put up for us on the ambassador programme.

Might be worth starting to pick some of these physical editions up.
