Re: Monster Hunter Rise Has Already Shipped Five Million Units Worldwide

Mr-Fuggles777

Its a good game and I'm glad it's selling well as there's plenty of people playing so.you can always find a match up online.

I do think sales have been helped by the lack of releases on Switch - its the first big release of the year and theres nothing else really announced apart from a zelda port. I only picked it up on release because I didn't have anything else to play

Re: Xbox Says It's "More Important Than Ever" To Preserve Gaming Icons And Classics

Mr-Fuggles777

I picked up a Series S on a whim because it was cheap (skipped out on xbox halfway through last gen) and have been absolutely blown away.

Firstly I immediately had access to my old game library of over 300 games, and then with GamePass I doubt I will have to buy any games for a long time. I was going to grab Outriders today but that has dropped onto the service so that's saved me £60 (or effectively given me 6 months of gamepass free)

Also for those who dislike renting games, every game on gamepass is available to purchase digitally and for the physical only group the XsX is backwards compatible with original Xbox, 360 and Xb1 discs.

@Clyde_Radcliffe it's always been on GamePass, they have just added it to the streaming service so you can play it on your phone via Xcloud.

Re: Nintendo Announces Huge Multiplayer Switch Sale, Over 190 Games Discounted (Europe)

Mr-Fuggles777

@Big_Fudge Gears 5, Outriders and Halo Infinite would like a word - All free Day 1 with Gamepass (and if you were going to buy just 1 of those games with DLC you have effectively got 12 months gamepass for the same price).

Apart from refusing to discount it, Nintendo can't even manage voice chat and team based matchmaking for a shooter like splatoon. It sells so well because there are no alternatives on the System.

Re: Nintendo Announces Huge Multiplayer Switch Sale, Over 190 Games Discounted (Europe)

Mr-Fuggles777

@sikthvash Microsoft and Sony do really good sales.
I just had a look through the switch sale and its mostly shovelware with a handful of games that seem like a half decent deal.
A quick look on xbox and the tombraider survivor trilogy is 60% off, Crash 4 series X version is 35% off - not including the free game you get with your online subscription.

Then Nintendo is still doing 33% on 4 year old software whilst not giving any free games with NSO

Re: The Price Of Animal Crossing's Sanrio amiibo Cards Are Already Skyrocketing On eBay

Mr-Fuggles777

@SwitchForce the only read people ate buying up 38 packs is because they are scarce and will attract a significant profit on the second hand market.
If Nintendo made enough stock so that anyone can get hold of a set, there wouldn't be a second hand market so there would be no motivation in scalpers bulk buying.
Even allowing the option to purchase "digital cards" via the eshop would go a long way in stopping scalpers.

As for me, as soon as I can find them in the UK, I'm going to be buying as many sets as I can get my hands on, with the express view of reselling - that extra money will get me more comic books or board / video games. The Mrs only budgets £200 a month for my hobbies, so anyway I can bolster that is a win for me.

In that regard I love how Nintendo creates scarcity, its like a real life stalk market - buy cheap / sell high and hoard those bells!

Re: The Price Of Animal Crossing's Sanrio amiibo Cards Are Already Skyrocketing On eBay

Mr-Fuggles777

@SwitchForce if Nintendo produced enough in the first place it would be irrelevant how many people buy and there would be no secondary market stopping those kind of shenanigans.

Look at Amiibo in general, I grabbed Magnamalo and I'm going to sell it for more than the amiibo and game cost me, so I got MHR for free - I will likely end in profit after selling the steel book as well.
If there were enough around people wouldn't be willing to pay £60+ for a second hand plastic figure.

Re: The Price Of Animal Crossing's Sanrio amiibo Cards Are Already Skyrocketing On eBay

Mr-Fuggles777

@SwitchForce you can blame Nintendo. Rather than just include the characters and furniture as a small paid DLC (like every other publisher) they decide to lock it behind the amiibo paywall, they have than failed to make enough to meet demand (as usual).

You can always buy spoofed cards off of Etsy / Ebay, or better yet just download one of the apps available and make your own.

Re: Mistwalker Boss Not Interested In Reviving Studio's Older Games

Mr-Fuggles777

This is where lack of backwards compatibility or access to digital versions of older software with Nintendo shows.
Both Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey are readily available on Xbox but you can't even Download games like The Last Story from the Eshop. That's the problem with making every console control unique and being reliant on gimmicks I suppose.

Re: Talking Point: Are You A 'Complete-In-Box' Or 'Loose Cart' Retro Gamer?

Mr-Fuggles777

I've never been a collector and have always just sold games and consoles on once completed or I'm bored of them.
Even now as an adult i don't have a clue where half of my switch cases have gone, I put the carts in my case when I get home with them and chuck the cases in whatever draw I'm stood by at the time.
One of the reasons I prefer digital as its less mess

Re: New 4K Switch Model Could Launch For $399, Analysts Suggest

Mr-Fuggles777

@Balta666 remote play to my phone has veey little to no lag around the house, but can get a little janky when I use it in work.
Xcloud is a lot more consistent in work aside from a few crashes. I do tend to stick to single player games as I often need to jump out quickly if I'm needed. I have noticed a little lag when playing online games like Destiny 2 via Xcloud

Re: Review: Monster Hunter Rise - A New Apex For Capcom's Beastly Franchise

Mr-Fuggles777

I've got it pre ordered but I think the online game lobby is going to be a deal breaker long term, I prefer to be able to drop in and out between coop and solo modes in these "looter shooter" type games and the extra time needed to leave a game and open separate lobby is a ball ache.
On the plus side if I don't like it I can always trade it in and sell the Amiibo for a profit.

Re: New Switch Model Could Launch For $399, Analysts Suggest

Mr-Fuggles777

@Automated_Unit_4937 Gamepass ultimate has remote play, its not quite as quick swapping between portable and TV as the switch but it also doesn't have the limitations and reduced resolutions.
It also has cloud gaming via android when I'm in work for the same price and PC gaming if I wanted to take the laptop up to bed as a second screen when the Mrs is watching TV.

Re: New Switch Model Could Launch For $399, Analysts Suggest

Mr-Fuggles777

@electrolite77 I've hardly played on my switch since picking up the Series S.
I used to take it to work but with Xcloud I just take my Razor controller and play on my phone instead. It nice being able to play games like Witcher and Doom portable at a decent resolution rather than be stuck at 720 and 30fps.

Will take the switch out the cupboard later in the week for MHR though.

Re: New Switch Model Could Launch For $399, Analysts Suggest

Mr-Fuggles777

Not a chance I would be paying close to new Gen hardware to still be locked in last gen on a switch Pro that could manage ps4 ports.
As long as Nintendo doesn't lock BotW 2 and MP4 behind the new console I'm happy with my Lite.

The Xbox Series S is already cheaper than a base Switch, with Gamepass and Xcloud it offers all the benefits of the Nintendo console with non of the limitations.

Re: Talking Point: One Year On, What's Still Missing From Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

Mr-Fuggles777

Critter weights and sizes so you can always push to catch bigger versions, with a leaderboard to co.pete with other people.

It would also be nice to have some Interaction with items placed beyond the limited basic functions - why can't we go down slides or sit in a pool? The game feels like a digital doll house where you can dress it up prettily but it's ultimately a shallow experience when you try to do anything beyond that.

Re: Video: Here's Digital Foundry's Technical Analysis Of Apex Legends On Switch

Mr-Fuggles777

@JR150 it was an upscaled 3DS game that got ported to the switch. Compare with more modern RPG'S, Outer Worlds barely ran on Switch and even after multiple patches is still miles behind the other versions.
I love the switch for what it is, but don't count on big cross platform games - especially as the generation gap widens and more developers start looking at the current gen systems.
