Re: Toys For Bob Is Now A Support Developer For Call Of Duty: Warzone

Mr-Fuggles777

@Blizzia I've pretty much got bored of MHrise, have a few more hunts to finish off a couple of armour sets but no voice chat means I have little incentive to grind in silence. Pokemon snap isn't worth full price (to me) so will grab that when it's on sale.
The world ends with you looks ok, but I wasn't thrilled with the first game and I've already played the Great Ace Attorney games when the fan translations were around.
No More Heroes 3 looks cool but after Travis Strikes Again will likely wait for a sale or at least until reviews are out before I get excited

All of those games are third party developers so what has Nintendo been working on for the last 2 years?

On the plus side Resi 8 and Biomutant are out this month along with the Mass Effect Trilogy so there's new games for me to play and I'm currently loving second extinction.
I play games on my night shifts so can get through 60 hours of gaming a week before I even switch a console on at home so blast through games.

Re: Toys For Bob Is Now A Support Developer For Call Of Duty: Warzone

Mr-Fuggles777

@Blizzia well you could be in luck as Nintendo are starting to port the 3DS games across so you can buy your library all over again off of them like us wii-U owners got to.

As for newer third party games I tend to use my xbox or PlayStation as I'm not a fan of the reduction in quality to get them running on switch. My switch is pretty much a first party and exclusive machine - which means there's pretty much nothing coming out apart from Mario Golf as there's only ports announced so far.

Re: Toys For Bob Is Now A Support Developer For Call Of Duty: Warzone

Mr-Fuggles777

@Blizzia so you think it's ok for Nintendo to rip off the customers that actually supported them through such a hard time? People say that the wii-U failed, but it only failed because "the fans" didn't support it - it had a hell of a software library, as seen by making up a significant portion of the switches.

It would actually make more sense for Nintendo to allow backwards Compatibility because there were less people who actually purchased the software first time around (especially digitally) there's less to give away.
Nintendo are one of the most greedy publishers and rely on fans blindly buying the same stuff over and over again.

I missed out on Xb1 as there wasn't enough exclusives to justify the console but have recently picked up a Series S and immediately had access to my library of over 300 xbox 360 games, in contrast with Nintendo I have to pay for NSO just to access LttP and super Metroid - games that I've already bought 5 times on different consoles.

Re: Toys For Bob Is Now A Support Developer For Call Of Duty: Warzone

Mr-Fuggles777

@Blizzia "As for relying on wii u re-releases, I feel like they are in a unique situation. If you think about it, the install base of the Wii U was like 15% of the install base of the Wii, and still a very low percentage of the install bases of previous home consoles, and previous handheld consoles."

This same argument could be made for Xbox as the Xb1 sold significantly less than the 360. The difference is that Microsoft has given access to all of the previous gen games without the significant markup on price that Nintendo has done with the wii-U library. Those who supported the last console are also able to access any game previously purchased digitally for free - which Nintendo completely ignored for those of us who bought wii-U games.

This is also why the Nintendo lineup looks so barren as for the past 3 years it's mostly been full priced ports and very little new content - the same as this year is actually looking unless they unveiled something epic at E3.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Apex Legends: Legacy 'Gameplay Overview' Trailer Is Questionable

Mr-Fuggles777

Anyone who watches that trailer and thinks it's Switch gameplay is either an idiot or doesn't own a Switch - apex is sub HD handheld and only just hits 720p docked.
Its like the pre rendered trailers that "doesn't show actual gameplay" and people are shocked when they play the final product.

Its no different than food ads using fake food for their adverts and promo shots - when does a bigmac ever look like the pictures?

Re: Toys For Bob Is Now A Support Developer For Call Of Duty: Warzone

Mr-Fuggles777

If more people had picked up the games and they were more successful this wouldn't have happened.
Like it or not but CoD is a money machine and generates a regular income with the warzone season pass so more devs working on it means more content. A lot of younger gamers play these F2P titles and drop a lot of money into the cosmetics

Re: Talking Point: Do You Miss Instruction Manuals?

Mr-Fuggles777

Modern games are more naratively driven so there isn't as much need for a manual with the background like we used to need.

As a child I used to enjoy reading the manual on the bus home but now as an adult I don't really miss them at all. I tend to buy digitally anyway and all the Information needed is online so I will just flick through a wiki or forum when on the toilet, usually trying to work out how to get that last hidden achievement.
I will buy a nice strategy guide though, especially for the Zelda games.

Re: Switch Online Members Can Save 30% On Wireless NES Controllers (North America)

Mr-Fuggles777

@JuiceMan_V you also don't really get new games added to the NSO library either - in fact I can't actually remembering the last time I even opened the app.

I agree that you do lose games from GP, but you also get new ones added each month. I'm currently playing Rain on my Parade which dropped Day 1, will I be sad of it gets removed from GP at a later date - not at all, as I doubt I would ever play it again once I've completed it. That game alone has effectively paid for 2 months of my Gamepass.

Sony gave me the new Oddworld game this month and FF7R last month (amongst other games) and what did Nintendo add to NSO in the same time period?

Re: Switch Online Members Can Save 30% On Wireless NES Controllers (North America)

Mr-Fuggles777

@JuiceMan_V you are only renting the snes and nes games on Switch - its exactly the same thing as Gamepass but with less variety. You also get the Keep the 360 games given away with Gold even if you cancel your sub!

@Dirty0814 nope, I pay £20 for 4 months Gamepass ultimate which includes GamePass, Xbox Gold and EA play and I can access the content on My consoles, Laptop and Mobile. You just need to look around for offers on the vouchers.
Saying that you can get NSO for peanuts by splitting a family plan, but as a subscriber of PS+, NSO & GPU, Nintendo's definitely feels bare bones and poor value, even for the low price point.

Re: Switch Online Members Can Save 30% On Wireless NES Controllers (North America)

Mr-Fuggles777

@JuiceMan_V I find it fascinating that people still defend a poor service like NSO just because its cheap.

Let's put it into perspective. NSO is £3.99 a month and I pay £5 a month for Game Pass Ultimate (£20 for 4 months).
For the same price as a double cheeseburger a month, I get access to over 300 games (on console, PC and Mobile), a selection of new games on Day 1 and a solid feature packed online experience over what is Provided on Nintendo's subscription service.

Re: Nintendo Scores Another Victory In Its War Against Switch Piracy

Mr-Fuggles777

@WiltonRoots if people blindly defend large corporations they are bootlickers, I don't care if someone agrees with me or not and being disappointed with Nintendo's output is hardly having a meltdown - as a consumer I am more than entitled to voice my displeasure. Doesn't mean I don't like the switch, it's just not that great a system and I'm not going to ignore blatant flaws or bully tactics.

Re: Nintendo Scores Another Victory In Its War Against Switch Piracy

Mr-Fuggles777

@RasandeRose what about sellers of third party peripherals? They also make money on the back of other bigger companies. Do you also have a problem with them?

As for scalping, I bought the MHR collector's edition and sold off the Amiibo and pin so that the game didn't cost me anything (In fact I actually made a little money) and still have the steel book to sell - is that wrong?

Re: Nintendo Scores Another Victory In Its War Against Switch Piracy

Mr-Fuggles777

@AnnoyingFrenzy miitopia is a 3DS port, Skyward Sword is a slight remaster (they have included a slightly altered control scheme for SS).

I can come across as a bit gruff so apologies, it just feels like we aren't getting any of the big Nintendo games this gen - which is what I bought a switch for.
They are sitting on a wealth of IP's that they aren't doing anything with and them chasing down and taking to court anyone who does us their IP and it's just a little frustrating.

On the plus side, BioMutant is out next month that has that Nintendo feeling from the trailer and early gameplay - just a shame its not on Switch.

Re: Nintendo Scores Another Victory In Its War Against Switch Piracy

Mr-Fuggles777

@eaglebob345 @AnnoyingFrenzy The point is that Nintendo has spent more time in court this gen than developing games. I get they are different departments, but what exactly are the game development teams currently working on apart from BotW2?

I didn't include games they simply funded because they didn't do any of the work other than throw money at another developer -
I dont see why people flock to defend such a large company.

Re: Super Nintendo World Could Be Forced To Close Just One Month After Opening

Mr-Fuggles777

@larryisanassman the vaccine doesn't stop transmission, it simply reduces symptoms if you contract the virus.

I expect infection rates to increase and another lockdown in the UK before the end of summer as people think they are now immune to it after having a jab and taking larger risks - there have been loads of parties and bbq's where I live the last weekend because of the nice weather and people are fed up being trapped inside.

Re: Feature: 'Breaking' Shrines Was Maybe The Coolest Thing About Zelda: Breath Of The Wild

Mr-Fuggles777

I just wished a few more of the shrines had puzzles like these. Far too quickly I noticed the handful of shrine puzzles used and could blast through them.
The challenge ones were handy for keeping a stock of guardian weapons so I never had to worry about breaking weapons again though.

Personally for me, the shrines or Beasts never filled the hole I needed for a true dungeon in the game.
BotW reminded me of the original Assassins Creed, an amazing sand box tech demo with veey little to actually do apart from exploit the game mechanics. Hopefully the second game can lay an actual game over the foundations of the first just like AC2 did.
