With reports suggesting that Nintendo will lift the lid on its "Switch Pro" prior to E3, the web has been eagerly waiting for news – and with that in mind, we've gotten wind of some more (unofficial) details from Spanish site Vandal.
This information comes from a Chinese accessory maker (those guys have proven to be quite knowledgeable in the past) and Vandal's track record is decent, but keep in mind all of this is rumour at present.
According to the site, the Switch Pro will be similar in size to the existing Switch, but the OLED screen will be around 7 inches from corner to corner and has almost no bezel around it.
Current Joy-Cons will remain compatible with the new model, but the annoying and flimsy kickstand is gone. In its place there's apparently a Microsoft Surface-style flap which presumably makes for sturdier tabletop gaming. The Micro SD port sits behind this flap, and is easier to access this time around.
When it comes to the dock, the report claims that it is slightly thicker than the original version, but offers x2 USB 3.0 ports and an ethernet port – the latter will come in very handy for those who demand the lowest amount of latency when playing online. 4K output will be possible using the dock.
Vandal is tentatively claiming that the Switch Pro will arrive in Europe at the end of November in very limited numbers.

If all these rumours are true then the Switch Pro will end up being a sentient Transformer.
So Europe gets it later on and in small batches? Boo!
Oh boy another day another one of these how joyous.
An inbuilt Ethernet port would be good.
Worst part of the Switch is joy-con drift.
The second worst part is the weak kickstand.
Are you kidding me? It took Nintendo this long but they finally did it. They're adding Ethernet.
I've heard a rumor that the switch pro can do 8k 240 fps docked.
Still gonna get the usual guys lying to themselves on how this is not true and Nintendo life should stop reporting leaks
This falls in line with what I'd hope from the Switch Pro. Hopefully this much is true.
These rumours are really going into overdrive now aren't they? I won't believe them until proven true still because I don't want to get disappointed!
Existing Joy-Cons being compatible is a must.
Hopefully it gets a power boost or we will be stuck with 10FPS at 4k.
Ethernet on the dock ? "Rumours" are getting dumb and dumber
Another day, another baseless Switch Pro rumor!
@kobashi100 How many times have people reported a Switch Pro was coming?
It'll be hilarious when E3 season comes and goes and there's still no Switch Pro reveal. And SO MANY people are so sure that it's happening this year, just like last year and just like the year before.
@nessisonett,
If all the rumours are true the system will also make tea and coffee.
@ChandlerKeith19 And people will still blame Nintendo
Rumour has it, from a squirrel on the side of the road, the Switch Pro will also do you laundry and ironing
You have also missed out the new that Amazon Mexico listed the Switch Pro and then took it down:
https://nintendoeverything.com/amazon-mexico-listing-appears-for-new-nintendo-switch-pro/
I've heard the Switch Pro sounds like Liam Neeson chasing a load of hens around inside a barrel. It also has a fear of stamps.
This is probably the worst time to release a new system given how badly the pandemic is hitting most economies and production lines around the world. I hope they're able to manufacture enough units, otherwise we'll be seeing $1000 batches everywhere. The PS5 situation told us enough.
"Vandal is tentatively claiming that the Switch Pro will arrive in Europe at the end of November in very limited numbers."
I highly doubt Nintendo is going to delay the release of the Switch Pro in Europe given that the original Switch, Switch Lite, and virtually all relevant first party Switch games have been simultaneous global releases. I expect the Switch Pro launch to be no different.
USB 3? Why is that useful?
Would be great if they come up with a way to charge while it's on it's own kickstand.
"Vandal is tentatively claiming that the Switch Pro will arrive in Europe at the end of November in very limited numbers"
So even Switch Pro club is starting to pay attention to Furukawa's concerns? Next week's rumour will be about Nintendo announcing the upgrade along with a lottery it will be distributed through.😅
Kinda goes against the other day's "revision gradually phasing out the older flagship models" narrative, too - it would be awkward if Nintendo stopped the 2019 unit conveyor belts completely in favour of something they can put out in PS5 quantities at best. But like I mused elsewhere, it mostly raises extra eyebrows about them still calling it "Switch Pro" even though it can't be a "Pro" if the only alternative is a "Lite". But when did these things perplex fandoms and yellow press?
@ChandlerKeith19 tho I certainly remember that there was talk of a pro last year, l don’t remember anyone saying it would release, especially with the pandemic. I mean, there were some people thinking it might release during the holidays, which I think is logical and might have been an option we’re it not for pandemic and chip shortage.
@Slowdive The only few reputable rumours are about the OLED screen. Staying in 720p. It's every sign of a basic refresh, mostly for supply reasons, not a pro version. All other stuff like more power, 4k, DLSS (the worst *****) is a Christmas wishlist !
November release makes sense, as that's my birthday.
I'm just scared I won't be able to get one. Let the bot battles begin...
While I would lament the arrival of an actual "pro" version with stronger GPU and CPU, I am all for a version that improves screen and construction.
Kickstand and Joycon drift are my biggest issues with the fat switch. If the latter is fixed that's enough to warrant a purchase alone!
they have to make sure games play better on this new model because 4K upscaling means nothing to me, I hate playing games such as Age of Calamity, Persona 5 Strikers, Bowsers Fury and others where the frame just tanks and is not stable at all
Ethernet in the dock sounds good. I'm strongly suspecting the Pro is going to have a lot of nice-to-have improvements without significantly upgrading the processor.
It's happening. I know people are sick of the rumors and sick of hearing about it, but it's happening. Bloomberg isn't the National Enquirer, they wouldn't keep reporting on this if it was false or the sources were suspect.
My only hope is that there aren't "exclusive" games for this version. I adore my Switch and want to upgrade when this available, but knowing how hard consoles are to get initially, it might be a little time before I do pick it up.
I also hope this helps end the whole practice of games not coming over to the Switch or not being released time and date. No more excuses of games passing this console. Why in the world would you keep skipping a console with over 80 million users? It makes no sense to me.
Even if true, I highly doubt we'll start seeing a flood of games like COD, Resident Evil 2, 3, 8 or Battlefield and similar titles arrive on this Super Switch. Which begs the question what will this unit be useful and good for ultimately? 🤔 🤔
This article is talking about the Switch Pro like it's already been announced.
Unfortunately i think at this point, Nintendo would be better off holding off until their next console instead of putting effort on a Pro version of this console.
I wanted a Switch Pro but after Mon Hun Rise, I'm done with the Switch, it's had its time, moved on to the PS5 now.
I have been extremely skeptical of Switch pro rumors in the past, yet with such a flood of detailed rumors (and a listing on Amazon), I'd bet money that we're getting it this year.
I hope there wil be a dock that improves the visuals by using DLSS. Otherwise i'll have to buy a new switch! Bye bye wallet.
Rumor has it the Pro can use the touch screen and TV at the same time while docked, and you can play a game on the TV while you start your instapot and air fryer on the touchscreen.
Give us two micro sd slots on I'm gonna have to buy a 1tb card.
Will they be releasing a Pro Pro Controller that also improves on the analogue stick drift? (same issue with Joy-Cons)
Larger screen size is all fine and dandy, but if the battery size stays the same, then play time becomes caca
@Razer Does that mean you thought Monster Hunter was so bad it made you move on from Switch?
Man, I'm just exhausted by all this rumor mill. It's obviously happening, there's leaks and insider reports all over; I just wish Nintendo would officially announce the stupid thing so we can finally have something concrete to discuss and look forward to.
Small batches??? That ain’t good
@Trajan the 2026 refresh?
Why wouldn't the bezel-less screen be part of the headline?! That's the best part of this rumor! The Switch's bezels are as big as smartphone screens that still had physical buttons!
Wow, and I thought people couldn't get any more creative with rumors.
The last two years some website said Nintendo will release a Switch Pro, and that didn't happen. It will be the same this year.
Will it have driftless joycon though?
I really hope it won't be called Switch Pro, it's dumb as dung
Surly the joycons must change!
"And Ethernet Connectivity"
Why now? Far as I can tell no Nintendo console in history - handheld or home - has ever had an ethernet port. I know the early consoles didn't need 1 but Wii and Wii U could have used them for the online shops.
Also, if they wanted, Switch dock could have had 1 already, or they could have added 1 to the current dock at any time over the past 4 years, such as when they changed the battery.
Dock could use 1, should have been there from the beginning, but it didn't. My thought was always b/c they didn't trust the switching if you were in the middle of an online game when you took the Switch out of the dock, but it did work in practice when I was using an ethernet adaptor so maybe some other reason.
Bezel-less will never happen but it will be a whole lot smaller than the current Switch, that's a given.
Seems like it's coming though, whatever it is.
Seems like a good time to ask @damo You guys have one of these in your hands yet? You all but admitted - after the fact -that you were in the room w/ the NX before Nintendo officially announced the Switch.
But why? I mean, they already sell more Switches than they can produce, so what would be the point of releasing a new system, businesswise? Can someone who believes the rumours (or anyone else) explain?
2x USB 3.0 in the back AND a built-in Ethernet port would both be godsend for Smash!
Would encourage more people to use an Ethernet cable and the Gamecube adapter's 2 USB cables could be plugged in the back, freeing the side ports for accessories or recharging wireless controllers!
@rjejr With so many people complaining about online stability in Nintendo games, I wouldn't be surprised if devs themselves pushed Nintendo to add an Ethernet port.
For example, maybe Sakurai himself suggested them to finally do it since he keeps recommending people to buy Ethernet adapters.
perfection, they are basically improving every aspect of the original Switch. A bigger screen is nice, but I am glad that they did not go futher. The original handheld's screen has 232 DPI and assuming they keep 720p, the new Switch will have over 200 DPI, which is still very very good. So the graphics and text will still be smooth.
It will also be hilarious if this does materialize this year despite all the people so sure that there's nothing at all to see here and everything is totally fabricated. It reminds me of all the people who were certain AMD was Nintendo's hardware partner in 2016 because Nintendo didn't reveal their deal with Nvidia in financial reports and there was no way they could have worked things out without such a revelation....except they did and those people were wrong.
I just changed the cases for my joycons to add a proper D-Pad (it's so good!) So I'm glad the new model will work with the old joy cons, 'cause the tiny electronics in there is tough to work with!
@kingbk , I totally agree with you. Bloomberg and Eurogamer are confirming something. And Eurogamer confirmed the Switch if I remember right.
I hope we get bigger cartridge sizes.
@BloodNinja is it ninja approved, though?
@Razer Who cares that you moved to PS5?
@Merry_Blind I think if the Switch were a home console I could see an ethernet port coming, but since I think it's still mostly used as a mobile handheld, b/c that's what it is, see Switch Lite, then I don't see cheapskate Nintendo spending the extra 25c to put a port in each dock.
@CodyMKW My two left joy-cons beg to differ. 😬
I don’t expect them to work perfectly when you buy them 10 years later in a thrift store, but they should work a couple of years without drift.
The current kickstand is not flimsy (some people think it's flimsy because it is smartly designed to nondestructively "break away" when overextended rather than just break), and it gives the Switch very stable support in tabletop mode. Also, the micro SD card is not exactly hard to access.
I do think it's happening, but I don't believe most of the leaks and all the leaks say "pro" I can't imagine them calling it a pro. Most likely "Super Switch" or for a laugh "The Switch U" would have a fun impact. Especially as the system has a lot of ports from Wii U days
Hope its not 32gb, I have a 400gb micro sd card and its already full.
@NikHogan If it's real, and if it improves loading times, frame rates and overall performance, then it certainly will be! Gotta wait and see, can't approve stuff ahead of time or corporate will have my hide.
@Razer Does the PS5 have the same CMOS error that the PS3 and PS4 have?
Sounds pretty good, though I really wish the handheld screen were 1080p. Greater internal storage would also be nice. Those two things would make it an immediate buy for me.
@Poodlestargenerica I definitely see the demand for an upgrade, I just meant that the production is already running at full steam, so the only way to increase profit by introducing the New Super Nintendo Switch Pro would be if they had a better margin on that one than the current, which I highly doubt. But maybe they are already forecasting a decline in Switch sales, in which case this could be a clever move anyway. Maybe. I'm still sceptical and would not be surprised if all those rumours are based on actual plans by Nintendo, but that they are holding back a release of the new version due to the success of the current one. We'll see.
Well we know now that someone who is "usually right in the past" will be wrong in the future since this rumor says late November while the other rumors have been saying September-October. Good luck to the rumor sources!
I really really hope for a build-in wireless connection with the dock, then we can play with 2 screens (the dock would support 4k upscale while docked and 1080p while wireless connected). A second screen (for handheld/tabletop) would be awesome (even if sold separately), but seems to be impossible
I hope for a NVMe port instead of a MicroSD, but it's seems to be impossible too.
Bluetooth headphones support should be awesome, but nothing talks about this specifically
A bigger storage seems to be logical, but nothing talks about this specifically
So, if the leaks (from more trustful leakers) are true we'll get OLED bigger screen (similar body, for joy-con compatibility, some say same resolution, some 900p and others 1080p), 4k upscale (docked), better processor/RAM (I heard something between PS4 Standard and PS4 Pro but I more willing to believe between Xbox One and PS4 Standard or slight better than PS4 Standard), better kickstand, build-in Ethernet port and probably bigger internal storage (wome say 64GB, some 128GB). That's enough for me. I'll buy it.
Thicker dock means bigger fan... hope not a turbine...
Sounds legit. Don't expect to get native 4K games however, but upscaled FullHD. Maybe it could, more in the same way as the 'Only for New 3DS' games. But it would be either VERY costly to produce on cart or take very long to download on your 1TB SD-card.
Or... just get Nintendo to enable USB 3.0 on their current docks. If you don't remember, the Switch already "supports" USB 3.0, but the USB chargers are 2.0. It ain't a console problem, it's an accessory problem.
Switch lite fine for me. Xx I still don’t like the sticks at all tho, even without drift they just feel flimsy and for me same with the joy con. Hope they get improved. X x d pad gaming for me! Xxx
Does anyone else get nervous about this release? Like we've heard rumors and speculation and wanted it for years, then it'll release and scalpers will get them all lol
This reminds me of all the Chinese accessory manufacturer rumour / leaks back in 2019 in the run up to the Lite announcement. Some were close, but others were well wide of the mark. I think some of these manufacturers leak stuff to get attention as a form of marketing. For those who hate the rumour hype, or just like surprises, you may want to stay offline for a couple of weeks
@rjejr Nintendo's employees have publically told consumers to get Ethernet adapters before playing their online games, that's not something that happened in the Wii / Wii U era. If Nintendo is finally acknowledging the importance of hardwiring, it's not a stretch to imagine them finally adding it as a default option.
good b/c the kickstand is a joke
If it's all it does I'm ok with not spending the cash for the upgrade
@link3710 "it's not a stretch"
Well no, it's not a stretch, it's not going to blow my mind if New Switch Pro has a port in the dock, but I think it's unlikely. I'm going 80-20 no port. Maybe 70-30 if the dock is redesigned and overhauled in other ways besides swiping out USB for USB-C ports.
Who knows, maybe it will have interchangeable face plates? 🤷♂️
One reputable leaker already showed how unreliable their word is by saying it would be announced last night then deleting their tweet when it wasn't.
A lot of reputable leakers seem no different than psychics or grifters making as many predictions as possible then deleting the ones that don't actually happen.
@Slowdive I’m thinking a November 19 release date, to release along new pokemon games. Or maybe will release with Metroid Prime 4, that seems to be the more realistic approach
@EVIL-C I disagree. I think we will. A lot of third party developers im sure would love to port their games to the switch but can't because of its lack of power. Now with this newer version we can finally see all the other titles we've missed out on.
@jump they have to say that cause of the tension between China and EU. 😬
@KBuckley27
Unfortunately, the frame rate is not something Nintendo can just "do something about".
Even -if- there was a reasonable update to GPU power, which hasn't been confirmed, then developers would probably still have to individually update their games to make use of this power.
Very limited. Yay! Can't wait for the scalpers to buy them all, and resell at 5x the amount. This will be the PS5 all over again. 😭
Throw enough mud at the wall and eventually one of these rumors is gonna end up "true".
I don't care that Bloomberg and Eurogamer reported on this. Until they have something actually concrete, I'm not believing any of this.
I also heard a rumor it's also going to play PS5 and XBOX Series X games natively at 4K120.
@Digimon24 We've all told ourselves this many times. GameCube had the power. Wii U had the power, but never the "install base", as many of these studios always cry about. Though every system has 0 install base prior to launch. It's all about perception and betting on what will sell.
Even COD has never come to the base Switch, yet Wii U got 2 entries. Xbone still gets them, yet Switch has outsold it nearly 2 to 1.
So that's my reasoning to not just assume a deluge of back titles will some to the Super Switch, and what will it's overall purpose be?
Having said all that, I want the Super Switch.
@Mr-Fuggles777 With DLSS it wouldn't be native 4K and performance wouldn't be a big issue even with no power upgrade.
Is there anyway they could just have a new dock that would make the current switch more powerful when connected to it
It's not going to be the "Switch Pro," that name is antithetical to Nintendo's way of doing things. Also it's a Sony console thing, and Sony is Nintendo's #1 competitor. Stop pushing that name.
I sorta suspect Super Switch, "New Switch" or something totally new and weird.
I just want to use my Bluetooth headphones with my switch it's 2021
@rushiosan Switch isn't having the same chip problems as the PS% and Series X. In fact their issue is they are both using the same exact chip.
@Facelord I could do a Super Switch, that sounds perfectly fine to me
@Pod Framerate would be based off of most newer games for one and two most games already released can already handle a higher framerate so I see no issue.
@kobashi100 I don't understand people who deny it. Do they just not want an upgrade to ever come out?
SNS not Switch Pro. Goes along with NES to SNES so a NS to SNS would be more fitting naming sense. Ethernet port will be those compact one where you flip a clip to open it to connect to ethernet cable.
@ChandlerKeith19 I mean, people were talking about a new PlayStation and Xbox for multiple years too. It's not too surprising, seeing as it takes years to develop the pro and next-gen systems.
@Lanmanna honestly think some people don't want a new switch to be released as they feel it will invalidate there current switch which is ridiculous. Only thing i am unhappy about is that getting the switch pro is gonna be near enough impossible!
@Heavyarms55 how can they have anything concrete unless it is actually announced by Nintendo themselves. You do realise it's people who actually work within Nintendo who leak out information right. Bloomberg and Eurogamer are not just making this stuff up. Why are you still in denial about this? Bloomberg and Eurogamer are credible. Switch pro is happening, fighting it tooth and nail is pointless!
@sdelfin the amount of people who blindly followed supermetal gamer and his ridiculous BS was hilarious. Even when credible sites like Eurogamer were exposing his BS, people still wanted to believe in this super powerful Nintendo home console. The day we saw Nintendo confirm he was full of BS was a good day.
@Strumpan Nintendo still would have to produce switch machines without a switch pro. The cost to produce switch pro over the current switch will now make financial sense for Nintendo. They can sell a better product for the same price as the current machine.
Here we go with this again.
I have no doubt that another hardware refresh is coming. Even the PS5, barely out a year, is heading for an alternate SKU soon to dodge supply constraints. It's just that all of the rumors are getting people hyped up for their dream version of what the Switch was "supposed" to have been, only to get angry and disappointed once the actual product comes out.
It's "Dante will be the final Season Pass 1 character for Smash Ultimate", just writ large.
I can see a slightly beefier CPU and GPU, maybe just enough to run ports of Unreal Engine 5 games. More realistically, it's just going to have better screen quality and AI-assisted 4K upscaling.
@kobashi100 Because they've been saying these things since like 2018. All of them supposedly leaked information from supposedly reputable sources. Always unnamed, always lacking any hard evidence.
Anyone can say anything for clicks and call it a leak from a reputable sources. And there are so many of these that come out, eventually one will be right and everyone will act like they did anything other than throw mud at the wall until some stuck.
I especially distrust anything tied to Bloomberg. I'm slightly more inclined to trust Eurogamer, but even they are always fishing for more clickbait.
Even if this paticular series of rumors does actually end up happening, I'll doubt they had any real sources because they're always reporting stuff like this. It ain't the first time, and wont be the last. Again, it's throwing mud at the wall until some sticks. That's all.
No one at Nintendo is going to risk their job by leaking information. Leakers are often severely punished when they get caught. Sometimes they can end up not only fired, but effectively blacklisted in the industry as a leaker. Why on Earth would anyone risk their who career like that?
@Heavyarms55 leakers exist in every single industry and yes it is from people who work within the companies. If you believe nobody within Nintendo ever leaks information then you are being very naive. Leaks are part and parcel of technology. Sony, MS, Apple, Google, Samsung etc etc just like Nintendo have staff leaking stuff. Eurogamer have been brave enough to confirm switch pro due to very credible sources they have.
Okay if you didn't believe it before that's one thing but to still continue with this denial is straight up delusional
@ImmortanJho no actually I've enjoyed MH Rise, put 180 hours so far and im probably gonna get up to 300 but its the last game im gonna sink that much hours on the Switch.
But to be fair my Switch has had a great run, easily over 4000 hours across some 30-40 games.
It's had its time, i can't wait for the Switch 2 but for now im probably gonna move on.
It was the same for the PS4 after God Of War came out, my gaming had fully moved on to the Switch by that point, been nearly 3 years since then.
Also consider the fact that Nintendo throughout its entire life has released a new console every 5 to 7 years with the Wii U been the shortest lasting console at just over 5 years.
Considering its been more than 4 years since the Switch launched, we can expect to see a new Nintendo console within the next 2-3 years, leaving no real room for a pro version of this console.
So that essentially gives me 2 to 3 years with my PS5, now i normally wait about a year for games to pick up on a new console so thats normally the time frame. It has been for years now.
What im saying here is the Switch has had 4 years and been very successful, not much a pro version will do now that a new console wont do in 2 years.
May as well wait.
@kobashi100 You can take your insults and shove them where the sun doesn't shine. Calling someone names doesn't prove your point.
I don't believe this so-called leak. Even if it turns out we do get something like this, I'm still calling it a lucky guess like all the countless other guesses before.
For those wondering about the whole world wide chip shortage thing. The major problem happened when companies cut orders in the future because of the pandemic and their space in the fabs got bought up by other companies.
Nintendo was always planning on having these made they would have prepurchased a ton of next gen SOCs.
@Razer You can play games on multiple systems. You don't have to choose on or the other. You won't play your Switch, even when Metroid and Zelda come out?
@Dirty0814 Yeah, Super Switch is perfect, I think. I do have to mention, though, that the chip supply problems that are hitting the XSX/PS5 are also partially hitting Nintendo's Switch supply, but significantly less, thankfully. They don't share the same 7nm node, but they would both require substrate and all the other physical materials that go into these chips.
Heck, we've got issues with getting computer chips for cars these days! Crazy shortages. I'm honestly stunned Nintendo has Switch consoles in stock almost all the time at my local store, they did a dang good job keeping stock during all these shenanigans. I give it an 80% there are Super Switch shortages for the first three months, and I give it a 60% chance that they resolve their shortages before Microsoft and Sony do.
@ChandlerKeith19 selling my switch this summer. So I hope this pro version is coming out
@rushiosan And PC parts & series x
That's it? Bigger screen in the same form factor would be my number 1 desire. The Switch already has a USB 3.0 port. And you can already add an Ethernet port. (Unfortunately, it isn't any faster than the WiFi, and you can't "switch" if you are playing online. Your game will cut off going from Ethernet to WiFi.)
@thinkhector Adding Ethernet in place of Wi-Fi for online gaming isn't a matter of speed, but stability.
@Tandy255 Yes! Please. Nintendo give us a stability update!
All I wanna know is Are we getting 8 or 16gb of ram!!?
@montrayjak 😆 Nice pun!
I hope the switch pro can bring the triple a titles with it.. that'll get me back into actually playing my switch. the lack of fallout, gta, red dead,COD,Madden, cyberpunks, resident evils, etc etc I could go on and the list is never ending... I get a Nintendo system to play Nintendo exclusives yes(which are few and far between these days), but it doesn't hurt to offer more than just those and Indies. idk. the Nintendo I grew up on has changed, and that's ok.
@Trajan Only when it's facing the east.. on a Tuesday.. for one min.
@jump I can't imagine regions will have different dates, just that the article is more confident to discuss what it's more aware of through distributions and manufacturing points.
It’s also gonna be more powerfully than the PS5. But the PS5 will have better games.
Newsflash - the Microsoft link is because they designed the flap.
Um, hopefully it'll have much more "improvements" than that. That would be disappointing if that all it improved. Would hold off greatly if that was all.
I heard it folds up in your back pocket and gives you a reach-around.🤞
@dannym2091 That's my list: 1) Bluetooth headphone compatibility
2) Everything else
We are experiencing the worst chip shortage since the Irish Potato famine. Have we learned nothing?
Hopefully Nintendo has been watching Sony and Microsoft's consoles being snapped up by scalpers and bots and have come up with ways to prevent them from doing the same to their own customers. Setting hard one-unit-per-customer limits, limits for units originating from the same user accounts, e-mails, addresses, etc. within a given time frame, software that detects bots and/or mass purchase attempts and immediately (and permanently) blocks them, and making such practices a requirement for all online sellers are just a few ways it could be accomplished. And don't cry foul about "capitalism" being impeded; by their very nature scalpers are exempt from such claims and no sane hobbyist will feel sorry for them if they're left unable to continue extorting legitimate customers.
@Kamalen what is weird about ethernet on the dock?
@AtlanteanMan never gonna happen dude. The bots are gonna snap these up just like they get everything else.
I'm confident, that this is all real and is on par with what Bloomberg was leaking.
My biggest worry at the moment is, how hard will it be to get one at launch or this year.
@kobashi100 That's likely true because unfortunately the manufacturers and the stores don't care where the money comes from as long as they get paid. But it can't hurt to throw out a few suggestions just in case someone at Nintendo sees a positive PR opportunity.
@Tandy255 can you imagine if they are the same joy-cons on this thing?
@AtlanteanMan yeah that's why I said it is never gonna happen as like you said the manufacturing companies don't care one bit. I am a sneaker head and have seen how Nike don't care one bit. getting new Jordan sneakers now on release for example is practically impossible unless you are using bots. As Nike have done nothing to stop bots and don't care I have decided to treat them the same and now my money goes to Chinese factories who manufacturer amazing replica sneakers.
HD Rumble is not so impressive after experiencing PS5's DualSense Haptic Feedback. Nintendo should improve it to 4K Rumble - needs more resolution and power.
Please just remove the input lag
November would be half a year and I don't think my actual Switch lasts that long. Bit afraid regarding this...
Funny that no one talks about HDR? The main reason to use an OLED screen is HDR, it will make games look so much more vibrant.
@Lanmanna both of those games will be multiplats on both Nintendo consoles (The Switch and Switch 2)
Zelda has had a double release since the GC days.
So yes i will play them but neither of them are coming anytime soon.
@jump That honestly make this whole "leak" untrustable.
Nintendo has been pretty good since the original switch release at doing worldwide releases.
@Samo_Gallego Don't forget, being listed on amazon does not mean it is sold by amazon. it is easy to list anything on the marketplace.
@rjejr On the contrary having the Lite as the dedicated handheld model positions the alternative model as the more home-oriented one. Also a lot of people use their Switch more in docked mode, and Nintendo know that. The dock by design is a connectivity hub, it just makes sense to add an ethernet port to it and it should have had one already.
@Facelord Yup the sWIItch XD
Yes, these are all things that I really want. Bluetooth headphone support is the other.
@AtlanteanMan
There are ways around it if a company is bothered. Currys in the U.K. do it well, they have a queueing system then when you get to the front they send you an email with a code. It keeps bots away really well and is how I got my Series X.
Recently with PS5 they’ve been using a Lottery system.
@Mgene15
The only change in Nintendo is they’re getting better third-party support than normal.
@kobashi100 honestly think some people don't want a new switch to be released as they feel it will invalidate there current switch which is ridiculous. Only thing i am unhappy about is that getting the switch pro is gonna be near enough impossible!
Wonder which boat did you got off on but reply so far is people would get a Pro or SNS when it comes out when they can find out. So where are you getting that no one wants something New and More GPU power other then NintenDoomed fandom. You do know the SNS/PRO or XNS will be called will be backward compatible with older games as they will more or less use the same port/cart configuration. Those cards have rumored to be big as 64gb in size so think about that a 64gb cart fitting a full game. Why would someone think NIN would Shootthemselvesinthefoot for. As for inventory not everyone will get the higher model until they see more games coming out but 4k games are coming whether you like it or not. NIN already put out Press asking Developers to make games 4K ready did you not read this press release as well. There is no going to be split this is a NintenDoomed myth rooted in baseless nonsense. They use the 3DS to 3DSXL cart difference as the model but remember this is Switch not 3DS but that is lost in translation when you tell them that. NIN isn't going to do that again to cause problems maybe the new Switch will be a larger port but still fits the older Switch carts that would be what I expect to happen not become a gimmick notch where it can only be use it on the New Switch but can't insert the New carts into the older to prevent issue or that the software is BuiltIN to Switch pun to lower power mode or resolution to run on the older Switch units. And those carts are like SSD/Nand chips so more chips can be stuck and when hardware gets smaller they could put more into it. And until far...far down the family series they could place a libary of games into a single cart maybe then it would truly become a larger cart but then a Different family line of Switch would come at that Generation then.
@SwitchForce take a chill pill kill Bill!
I have no idea why your wrote that big response to me. Where did I ever say that the switch pro was gonna have all the things you just argued against. I am truly baffled how you got all that from reading my initial reply about people being unhappy that Nintendo are releasing this new machine. It's like you made up a bunch of stuff just so you could argue against it.
@kobashi100 read your post #109 that was your own reply. So you might have to take your own medicine.
Then someone is messing with the post numbers.
@electrolite77 so it’s increased since the wii and Wii U days. Cool. That’s up to .1% of triple A titles.
@Godzil I am well aware of that, I was just mentioning it as another possible sign which I would normally take with a grain of salt, yet because there has been such a large amount of rumors flooding in (which, for the "Switch Pro," is a lot) I'm less skeptical about the possibility of a new Switch.
@SwitchForce #102 was not from me
Not interested. Will buy a PS5 or XBOX Series X before...and not from a !@#$%^&* scalper.
@Mgene15
Better than any Nintendo system since the SNES. And that didn’t get everything. Western AAA games have never really been a thing on any Nintendo system you ‘grew up on.’
@Razer i think people got tired of putting escape quotes around “Switch Pro”. now it just Exists. and it does 240fps 8k in handheld mode, water cooling, custom RAM timings, AI, plus a slew of other unrealistic things.
“Gamers” are the worst demographic to listen to online, hands down.
@Heavyarms55 a broken clock is right twice a day, and so is, occasionally, a video game rag that will say just about any outlandish thing day after day to get views.
they've moved onto speaking like everything said about the Switch's successor, even down to its name, as factual. fans who buy into this crap are going to see themselves disappointed, it's easy to forget that Nintendo is going to behave the way they always have, which is conservatively. “gamers” want 16GB of RAM and a 10" screen? go buy a laptop, they're available right now.
@BOLD_TEXT Thing is, I do think it's inevitable that we will get a hardware refresh/update of some sort. And it's also inevitable that a lot of people are gonna love it, but a louder group is gonna be furious that it doesn't live up to their expectations.
My issue is that people have been reporting "leaks" without any solid evidence to back them up, since like 2018. I've heard it all. Pretty much every conceivable idea about what it will be. So when we do get something, someone will have been "right" for the simple fact that everyone and their cousins have all reported on "leaks" about this.
But here's why I don't think the leaks are likely:
First and foremost, none of these reports have any hard evidence. No pictures, or documents or anything to back up their claims.
Second, leaking industry secrets is a good way not only to lose your job, but to be effectively blacklisted by the industry as untrustworthy.
Well I already went from a V1 to V2 Switch and the difference was worth it.
Would probably buy the Pro when it gets to the point there's exclusive games to it and I find a console on a store shelf.
6 months in PS5 and Xbox have had a depressing launch between Covid and chip shortages. Switch is still selling strong and until chip shortages are resolved and stores and websites have better ways to protect from scalpers I wouldn't even bother with a new console yet.
Will it be able to become sentient? That's what I'd like to know.
@Heavyarms55 of course there is no pictures of hardware or documents. Leakers decide what they want to leak and which dates to put the info out. People like Bloomberg and Eurogamer follow them instructions as they want to keep there source within Nintendo sweet.
Let's stop the silly talk about leakers would lose there jobs. They certainly would if ever caught. The chances of that happening are minimal. Eurogamer are not gonna snitch on there sources. Also companies/sports teams etc etc from the high ups leak stuff out to the media (can be true or false).
This practice has existed like forever!
Hm. Whatever the "Switch Pro" will have, it will have. We just have to wait until E3 2021 to find out for ourselves, and there's no greater time to show it off than a Nintendo Direct. And this time, I'm gonna be fast enough to pre-order it! I mean, it's not like there'll be a Switch Pro Enhanced Port of Smash Ultimate with ALL The DLC included. Maybe even upgrade it to a point of adding new Palutena's Guidances not made by Zelda Universe, for each of the Fighters Pass Characters. At least provide exclusive upgrade for existing copies for free, anyway. It's what they do for Final Fantasy VII Remake on PS4 to PS5.
theres so many different rumors coming out about the new switch pro think ill wait until E3
@Merry_Blind "The dock by design is a connectivity hub, it just makes sense to add an ethernet port to it and it should have had one already."
That's my point. That Switch dock is over 4 years old, Switch 2, whatever they will call it, will be out in a couple of years, why add an ethernet port now if they haven't done so already? They had the perfect opportunity when they added the larger battery and changed the box art. It makes too much sense. Nintendo doesn't do "sense", they do "Nintendo Logic".😉
@kobashi100 either case you clearly have issues with the Switch being Switch.
@SwitchForce what the hell are you going on about. You have lost the plot dude. I dunno who your response was supposed to be for but it isn't me. I have never had an issue with the switch being a switch. Not a single post ever have I said anything even close to that. You need to go back and start reading who is actually making posts you don't agree with.
@kobashi100 I think he is just trolling, nothing much.
Typical get caught and deny what they wrote again look at #109. You tried to have it both ways.
@Godzil are we making duplicate accounts to try to support our own retorts now are we.
@Dirty0814
Sure, I'm just informing you that it wouldn't ever be Nintendo doing anything about the framerate of any games, aside from their own releases of course. But those are mostly pretty good to begin with.
@Heavyarms55 looks like we've been vindicated a bit, no?
@BOLD_TEXT Honestly had to go back through the comments to figure out what you were replying to. Lol
But kinda yeah.
