Picked up a Lite yesterday which is my first Switch. Spending more time searching the eShop and starting my library than actually playing games but dabbled in some SNES (aaah... Super Tennis flashbacks).

Been holding off buying a Switch until they revise the hardware: Gimme a Pro! (and a D-pad).

A 'remarkable' year? Really? Hmmm...

Would it have killed them to launch this service with SNES or a Gamecube game at least? This month on PS+ I downloaded God of War 3 Remastered. Sure, it's only $20 but so what? You gotta work harder than NES games these days for my attention.

The wait for this announcement was definitely not worth it.

So this is what Switch's year 2 looks like.

I just upgraded to a PS4 last week so I'm scooping up some great AAA games for cheap. I can wait until Switch 2.0 since I've got a Wii U so it just looks like ports and old franchises. I'd love one in 18 months though when they've sorted VC, the library is deeper and My Nintendo has been scrapped.

Been hoping there'd be a New 3DSXL I'd want to upgrade to before they kill it off. This is the one.

Good luck to them. Not exactly encouraging me to buy a Switch but maybe that's just me.

I'll wait another year at least to get a Switch. Hopefully it carries on selling and attracts new games from 3rd parties.

Thank you for asking these questions. I wonder if the Japanese press are grilling the Nintendo execs over there. Seems inconceivable that they still haven't figured out what to do with online (in 2017) with a hit console already on the shelves. Nintendo eh? God love 'em.

I'm calling it: Launch title for the follow up to Switch!

I'd prefer a new, exclusive IP from Retro. From anyone really.

Nintendo need all the 'adult' (if that term even applies) exclusives it can get. I hope it stays Nintendo-only for the sake of the platform.

Nintendo need some big reveals because Microsoft have to come out fighting this year and Sony have the most third parties behind them (plus they have no shame in teasing games that are early in development).

A new AAA IP would also help counteract the sense of deja vu that often surrounds Nintendo these days.

What is My Nintendo?

I'll get a N3DS XL when it drops in price so I can enjoy that 3D effect for as long as possible. If Switch's tablet screen had an optional 3D effect I'd be so happy.

I'm loathe to give up stereoscopic 3D yet and was actually marvelling at the graphics on Ocarina of Time last weekend. (Yeah, I'm past the age of caring about cutting edge graphics).

As long as I don't see a Switch screen over the next 18 months I won't know what I'm missing. Then I'll pick one up when the library's more mature. In fact, I may actually snap up a New 3DS if they announce a price cut.

I'll check back in 2018. I'm sure Switch will have a great library eventually they need some big exclusive surprises at E3 or Sony and/or Microsoft will walk away with it.

Just one more reason for me to wait a year to buy a Switch then.

Wouldn't it be better to write an article on what Reggie DID say this week? A whole post describing another non-answer (even when the damn machine is already out) is not only frustrating but pointless.

I'm excited to get a Switch eventually but I'm definitely waiting for revised hardware so they can iron out these teething problems and figure out their online service. I just hope it doesn't take them 3 years to do it.

Q: Are the controllers comfortable in portable mode (when joy-cons are attached)? That layout looks awkward to me but I've only seen one complaint so far...

I found the most compelling moment in the Nindie showcase was right at the end when he reminded viewers: "A lot of these games are launching first on Nintendo Switch, and many of them utilise key features only found on Nintendo Switch, like HD Rumble, flexible local multiplayer, and the ability to take the console experience with you on the go."

Stardew Valley's multiplayer coming to Switch first was a coup as well. Those 2 moments piqued my interest more than the games themselves but then it's very early days.

Sweet! Sometimes I dug out my ancient Xbox to play Metal Slug 3. Will be nice to play it on the go in 2018 when I look at getting a Switch.

I'm thinking of upgrading to a NEW 3DS (I love me that stereoscopic 3D) but my question is... what happens to my digital download games when they do phase out a machine? I guess this applies to my Wii U as well...

Sure, very sensible. But what if some of those games don't interest you? Then it suddenly seems like slim pickings. I know, I know, these are only the announced games but you can only make a 1st impression once. Here's hoping the indies come out strong at E3.

I'm giving the Switch button layout a big old side-eye. I'm sure they've tested it plenty but in portable mode, and on that ugly 'dog' controller... ugh.

Steve's comment that he wishes he could preorder a Pro Controller was, perhaps, telling.

2 reasons why I'm in no hurry to change from 3DS to Switch for my portable gaming: the 3D screen and the d-pad.

I want a shiny new Nintendo portable but I also love 3D and want a d-pad so... I have to get a New 3DS XL instead I guess

@SanderEvers I know it's supposed to be but I actually like the stereoscopic 3D and want to continue with that.

@WOLF1313 Wind Waker HD is still sitting on my Wii U's backlog and I only just cleared the water temple in Ocarina 3D. I got some catching up to do!

CONFESSION: I would take an upgraded 3DS right now over a Switch. Just gimme slightly better resolution and more of that sweet 3D action.

Amen! Maybe the person in charge is the Lisa Kudrow character in Bojack Horseman who has been in a coma since the 80s. Then it might make sense.

It seems like every day brings a new Switch announcement that makes it easier for me to wait a year... at least. Wishing them well for the long run though.

@jaymacx I'm not sure it IS soon enough at this point. In the days since the presentation I've decided to spend my next console money on Sony. The fact that Nintendo won't be upfront about some basic, and long overdue, customer requirements just makes me more convinced they will shoot themselves in the foot again. They could have put lots of fears to rest from the outset but chose not to which hardly instills confidence in this Wii U owner.

Translation: "Stay tuned... we have plenty more confusing and disappointing news between now and launch day."

This drip feed of information isn't working. Nothing they've said since the presentation fills me with confidence (£60 for a game? In today's gaming landscape?!). Just give us the damn facts already. It only makes it seem like they're hiding even more disappointing news. At this point I've decided to get a PS4 and see how Switch is doing in 2018. At least I'll have lots to play and can pick up lots of discounts.
