The Wii U version of Advance Wars DS is also undone by the lack of control options. The DS version didn't require the touch screen for any of the main modes, why does the Wii U release require using the terrible Gamepad?

Nintendo needs to make a good console to get third parties onboard. The Wii U was just mistakes after mistakes.

DSi was great. New 3DS is a muddled mess of a product. It confuses the marketplace and potential "3DS family" buyers. The New 3DS models should not have been made.

Look at Wii and the kind of games that were popular there. Local multiplayer was pretty dominant back then. Wii U is such a bad console with low quality games that it drove down the popularity of local multiplayer games. What are people going to play other than Mario Kart 8 and Smash? Nintendoland? Ha!

@Wolfgabe New 3DS has been a massive flop in the West, and it has done poorer than expected even in Japan. It failed.

@AVahne Have you looked at the graphics of average mobile titles? Processing power is not the issue, system design and game selection are.

@firstnesfan PS4 will soon pass 3DS in hardware sales outside Japan. And that's with a 2 year head start and several hardware revisions for the 3DS. Even the existing Western 3DS userbase is dying out because of the lack of games and New 3DS models flopping.

Was Nintendo included? Seems their own interest in Wii U and 3DS is about this level!

The current Wii U and 3DS selection is crap, simple as that. Bad consoles, bad games. Nintendo's current downfall is completely deserved due to their own mistakes.

@abbyhitter And just who would those people be? Twilight Princess is one of the highest-selling Zelda games ever made, mostly thanks to the Wii version. Most of the people that have wanted to play the game already have.

Hahaha! The New 3DS has been a mistake from the start. In Japan, "3DS family" sales have fallen sharply on a year-on-year basis when compared to when just the original 3DS models were on sale. In the West, "3DS family" sales have been very low following the New 3DS launch. It's a poor "upgrade" that most people didn't want.

And your "data" is wrong. Just look at Wii and DS. Third party games sold millions. Sure, the biggest hits like Wii Sports and New Super Mario Bros. Wii were Nintendo's, but third parties actually used profits from Wii games to subsidize their less profitable HD development.

Even this holiday, Just Dance 2016 has been a steady seller and has appeared in the charts in both US and Europe. And that's on the strength of the WII version. That shows that Just Dance players are loyal and consistent.

Nintendo just messed up really badly with the 3DS and especially the Wii U. Now nobody trusts them anymore. NX needs to be really good, or it'll flop like 3DS and Wii U did.

What's more, Just Dance is a series that keeps selling well after its launch. So you might see Just Dance 2016 and especially the Wii version popping up in charts even in March 2016 and further.

The Xbone has even fewer good exclusives than Wii U. This would bring one of the few worthwhile things on the One available to more people.

Remember during the Wii & DS days, when November and December used to be great months for Nintendo? Now with games like Amiibo Festival and Mario Tennis, it's no wonder sales are bad.

The Wii and Just Dance are still kicking ass!

Wii's Xenoblade was a slow burner. It didn't sell much at launch, but good word of mouth spurred it to continuing and long-lasting sales. In Japan, XBX has fallen far from Xenoblade's total sales even though launch week performance was similar.

Nintendo has always produced also bad games, like Clu Clu Land or FlingSmash, but on Wii U and partially the 3DS, they've put out a whole slew of stinkers. There's no point listing them all and what's wrong with them, it's just painfully obvious that the quality of Nintendo-published games has dropped like a rock in the past few years. Lately, a good Nintendo-published game has been a very rare occasion.

That was the year WiiWare started, too, and featured tons of great titles. And Virtual Console had a steady stream of classics. Just go back and play the Wii games of 2008, there was so much good stuff!

Wii U has been a big disappointment, and the Gamepad is total crap.

Note: If you want World Dance Floor, it's still there in last-gen versions, like the Wii.

How is Just Dance 2016 "incredibly online focused" when World Dance Floor was replaced with the clumsy and limited whatever video thingy mode on current-gen platforms?

Themes are stupid, but since it's Sega, I might actually buy one.

@westman98 Just Dance typically debuts modestly. It doesn't top charts at launch, but keeps selling and the sales actually go up over time. Despite the Wii's age, it wouldn't be surprising if there was still a sizable chunk of owners using it for Netflix, Youtube and now Crunchyroll besides games and other apps. I know a few people like that.

The Wii Remote offers a better interface than smart TVs and their remotes, for one.

Investors are probably also hoping that Kimishima can lead NX away from the problems that plagued 3DS and Wii U. But with so little known about the new platform, many are worried that Nintendo might fumble again.

@Sean_Aaron If you only have Just Dance 2 & 4 (+ DLC), you're missing out on a ton of great tracks. Not only tracks from previous games you don't own, like Eye of the Tiger, That's the Way I Like It, I Feel Love and No Limit, but also stuff from newer games, like Starships, Could You Be Loved, Follow the Leader, Bang Bang, Diamonds and Happy. Just to name a few. And that's in addition to all the new tracks in the Just Dance 2016 main game.

So even if you have some tracks featured in JD Unlimited in JD2 or JD4, that only makes a dent in the whole selection offered by JD2016 and JD Unlimited. Assuming the game and the service are up to the quality standard set by the previous Just Dance games, but they sure should be.

@Tsurii You can also buy the Just Dance 2016 Gold Edition for 60 bucks, containing 3 months of Just Dance Unlimited. That's a lot of playtime!

@abe_hikura Just Dance 2015 sold 4 million, and lots of those were on Wii. This just goes to show that Nintendo abandoned Wii too early. They could have made bank by releasing some Wii games in 2013 and even later. But even their "Nintendo Selects" budget line did very well. There are still lots of Wii owners out there looking for games.

@Tsurii Just Dance 2016 is 50 bucks on Wii U. (40 on Wii, but that doesn't have JD Unlimited.)
