Mario Party Star Rush? Yeah it looks rushed alright! Looks like yet another substandard game, like most of Nintendo's games lately. Rushed to the market to pad out the poor selection and to peddle the sinking Amiibo line. It didn't work with Mario Party 10, which flopped, it didn't work with Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival, which flopped even harder, and it won't work here.
@wazlon Yeah, the SNES games are different than New Adventure Island. Super Adventure Island is really simple and short (but has great music), while Super Adventure Island II is more like a Wonder Boy/Monster World game.
New Adventure Island and Super Adventure Island share the basic formula of the series, but still have different gameplay. The Turbografx game is one of the best if not the best traditional Adventure Island title.
Those are some terrible, terrible figures. Nintendo made some huge mistakes with the Wii U and 3DS, and now they're reaping the "rewards". Even the Amiibo bubble has already burst.
@Kirk Talking about all the motion-controlled versions of Just Dance really, but specifically on Wii and Wii U, the Wiimote controls were gradually improved year by year (at least until JD2015). The biggest difference is between JD1 and JD2, but you'll notice improvements in later games too.
@Kirk It sounds like you may have played Just Dance 1 on Wii. That was sort of a "prototype" for the series, and the games improved by leaps and bounds by every iteration, year by year. Just Dance 2015 is a very different game from Just Dance 1.
As someone who's been gaming for well over 20 years, I'll place the Just Dance series among the best videogames and best videogame series ever made. Just not based on Just Dance 1, but the later and better games.
Also, a lot of those Just Dance releases you linked to are compilations or regional releases, like the Just Dance Wii series for Japan. In those, Ubisoft together with Nintendo took special care to localize the series for Japan.
I'm not really feeling the Zeldabreath. Seems like just a whole lot of grinding and not a lot of actual gaming. The enemy responses seem really lame too.
@Matclip Facts are even tougher to defeat, and you aren't even trying. It's one thing to hope for Nintendo's success, but to fabricate figures to claim Wii U did better than it actually did is just completely delusional.
@Matclip I've looked it all up, that's why I'm telling you that you're totally wrong, you need to go make the search, because either you haven't understood the Nintendo quarterly reports and other info, or you're just making it up.
I'm telling you: go read the reports. I'm not putting any more time into proving something to you which you should already know if you have actually read them.
@Matclip No, you're mixing overall Nintendo profits to the Wii U. Wii U has NOT been profitable. Wii and DS backlog have brought in a constant revenue stream. Why do you think Nintendo is still re-releasing Wii titles as Nintendo Selects? Also, don't forget that new Wii titles like Just Dance have been outselling their Wii U counterparts, even though Wii total releases have obviously slowed down to a crawl.
At the same time, the "3DS family" has been profitable, thanks to 2DS for a large part. While those other platforms, accessories and licenses have been bringing in profits, Wii U game development, shelf space and upkeep has been eating away at those profits brought in by Wii, accessories, licenses and the DS lines etc.
Without Wii U, the rest of Nintendo's business would have been more profitable, because Wii U wouldn't have been eating the profits of Wii, 2DS, 3DS etc.
@JaxonH That's awfully fatalistic of you. Even if Zeldabreath doesn't turn up hot in the end, that doesn't mean Nintendo can't make a good game ever again. You just need to look at the Wii/DS era to see tons of games that drew people in.
And even Wii U had some good games like Mario Kart 8, they just weren't enough to combat the Gamepad monstrosity.
@JaxonH That's good for you. But imagine if Nintendo hope Zeldabreath will be another hit like Twilight Princess... and then it bombs instead? They can't have the NX's success riding on a game that might underperform.
@chiefeagle02 Nobody should have a Wii Mini. They would also be missing out on the best part of Just Dance 2016 and presumably JD2017 - the World Dance Floor online mode, which is only available in the Wii version, not on Wii U!
Really not a very strong selection at all. Sticker Star and Dream Team Bros, really? Then again, it's illustrative of the overall mediocre quality of the 3DS game library.
@JaxonH No, they're not even in the ballpark except when Chartz has doctored their figures to be closer to officially released figures. Usually Chartz figures are just completely off. They're complete guesses and usually the guesses miss - badly.
Nintendo offers a completely different proposition: the Toys-to-Shelf market. Most people probably buy these to have Nintendo figurines in their collection. Nintendo is actually trying to encourage amiibo use in games by offering free amiibo games like the recent Mini Marios thing, but most people probably don't play those.

Re: Reggie Fils-Aime on Why the Wii U Was Misunderstood
The Wii U Gamepad concept was just bad. It wasn't misunderstood.
Nintendo should have ditched the Gamepad when it became obvious what a mistake they had made.
Re: Review: New Adventure Island (Wii U / TG-16)
Well-written review of a great game!
Re: Talking Point: Recent Sales Results Show That amiibo Needs Games For Success, Not Just Collectibility
@vicne94 It is one of the worst selling home console Mario Party games ever made. That's a flop.
Re: Nintendo Download: 28th July (Europe)
@wazlon No problem! Let me know how you like it!

Re: The Definitive Version Of Super Turrican Was Denied A Virtual Console Release Back In 2008
Damn! Hope they can get that version available somehow sometime!
Re: Nintendo Download: 28th July (Europe)
@wazlon Why? New Adventure Island is a great game and a great entry in the Adventure Island series!
Re: Three SNES Street Fighter Titles Heading to European New 3DS Virtual Console This Week
@plug313 Just get Super Street Fighter II.

@Kirk You just need to git gud.
Re: Ubisoft CEO Says Nintendo NX Will Help Grow The Industry And Pull In Casual Players
@Kirk Just Dance is a great series. You obviously need to play it.
Re: Ubisoft CEO Says Nintendo NX Will Help Grow The Industry And Pull In Casual Players
This is interesting. Could Nintendo have learned from the mistakes of Wii U and 3DS?
Re: Nintendo Classic Mini: Nintendo Entertainment System Leads Best Seller Charts on Amazon in Europe
No wonder. This system is a great deal. Having Wii-compatible NES Classic Controllers doesn't hurt either.
@Ichiban Remember the Wii, which sold over 100 million consoles and close to 1 BILLION games?

Wii Mini. Only make it great instead of the horrible mess that was the first Wii Mini.
Re: Shigeru Miyamoto Thinks You Should Give Star Fox Zero Another Try
Give it up, Shiggy. The jig is up.
Next up, he'll be recommending Pokemon Rumble U, Cake Ninja, Game Party Champions and Mighty No. 9.

Re: Nintendo Download: 30th June (Europe)
@KTT Yeah, those unknown Aardman Animations... hope they can get some support and visibility from the video-watching 2DS/3DS userbase...
Re: Nintendo Download: 30th June (Europe)
@gcunit It's possible ZTD could get a physical release later down the line, on another system perhaps.
Re: Reminder: Five More 3DS Nintendo Selects Titles Are Now Up for Grabs in Europe
The eShop already sees regular sales of old and bad titles. Nintendo is intent on continuing that trend.
Re: Nintendo Outlines Key Goals to Ensure NX Success
@Matclip How can you be so daft? Go on, make that search. See if you have anything to argue afterwards.

Re: Nintendo Outlines Key Goals to Ensure NX Success
@Matclip Wii U didn't produce profits. Quite the opposite, it's also been eating the measly profits that Wii back library and 2DS/3DS have made.
Remember, Wii games have been selling millions even after the Wii U launch, and 2DS/3DS have also been selling better than Wii U.
Re: E3 2016: New Kind Of Mario Game Is Coming, Says Shigeru Miyamoto

@LilC Are you SERIOUS? Wii sold something like over 900 MILLION games. Get your uninformed bias out of here.
Re: Nintendo Outlines Key Goals to Ensure NX Success
"So, for an avid gamer a game like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is one of those that you can't not play."
Oh, that's easy. Zeldabreath looks boring from what we've seen so far. I won't be getting an NX for it and I won't get it on Wii U. Next?
Re: Editorial: Nintendo Did A Solid Job at E3 2016, But That Didn't Ease Long-Term Concerns

Re: Just Dance 2017 Coming to All "Motion-Control Gaming Platforms", Which Includes Nintendo NX
The Wii still lives! 10 years on and it's still getting what will probably be the best game of the year!
The news about JD2017 being on NX is interesting too.
Re: Live Blog: Watch Ubisoft's E3 2016 Press Conference - Live!
Just Dance 2017 also coming to Wii. Boom!
Re: Nintendo Download: 16th June (Europe)
Just look at those discounts. So much utter crap, and those represent a large proportion of what's available especially on Wii U.
Re: Nintendo of Europe Unveils Over 40 Discounts for eShop 5 Year Anniversary Sale
@Oubie Dillon is terrible. Don't get it.
Re: Editorial: With Lowered Expectations E3 Can Still Be Full of Nintendo Magic
Gamepad fans: look at how well that controller worked out!
Re: Editorial: With Lowered Expectations E3 Can Still Be Full of Nintendo Magic
Nope. Nintendo's E3 is completely pathetic, and there's no excuse.
NX better be damn good.
Re: Random: Store Shelves Appear To Be Filling With Pre-Owned Copies Of Star Fox Zero
Look at how low Nintendo has fallen. Is this their lowest point, or will they keep getting even worse?

Really not a very strong selection at all. Sticker Star and Dream Team Bros, really? Then again, it's illustrative of the overall mediocre quality of the 3DS game library.
Re: Star Fox Zero And Bravely Second Make NPD's April Best Sellers List
@JaxonH No, they're not even in the ballpark except when Chartz has doctored their figures to be closer to officially released figures. Usually Chartz figures are just completely off. They're complete guesses and usually the guesses miss - badly.
Re: Star Fox Zero And Bravely Second Make NPD's April Best Sellers List
@JaxonH VGChartz figures are bogus.

@khululy You don't have a Wii either? Contra Rebirth is on the original WiiWare, doesn't require a Wii U.
