I'm glad I got into the Gamer's Club Unlocked from Best Buy when I did. I went ahead and stacked my subscription there, so I'll be getting discounts of 20% off every game and amiibo I buy till june of 2021. And just in time for most of the smash amiibo to be released in that time.
Sad to see the discounts go from Amazon finally though as well, but there is at least the credit, but it will never be as good as the discount.
@LegendOfPokemon The Last Specter was, in my opinion, the weakest entry in the series, though still enjoyable to me. The series isn’t everyone’s cup of tea though, so I get it.
As for me, I’m stoked to have more Layton adventures, even if it’s not the gentleman himself. Just wish they would have implemented that 3D feature into this, as with Miracle Mask and The Azran Legacy it added a lot of visual depth to the proceedings. One could chalk it up with it being on mobile phones as well, but that’s a lazy excuse at best. Here’s hopeing we get a sequel on Switch next.
I expect these bundles and controller colors will be shown off for America at E3. That's the most likely reason why they held off making an announcement now. Otherwise, they are allergic to excess money, because why not have these available in America when everywhere else will get them.
Those Joy-cons and controllers do look lovely though. Now I wished I'd have waited for that special case instead of the standard Grey one that I got for my switch. How boring...
I'm really digging this continuation of the Layton saga. At first I thought it was just a random character to replace the great Hershel Layton since his story was supposedly done. But, this being his daughter and her looking into his disappearance, makes me truly giddy inside. I hope we get some more backstory on who the mother was, and all that.
The only thing I want to complain about is that dog... I suppose he'll grow on me, but they could have done much better with Luke's replacement. I know there was a talking rabbit in the third game, but he was only present for a small section of the story. This dog on the other hand is practically tied to your hip the entire game.
@Evenmoresteven No worries. I hope you enjoy it. I also was wondering where the option was when I first got it, but I discovered it after doing some poking around. They should have labeled it a bit more clearly I reckon.
@Evenmoresteven the option to purchase the other 2 campaigns is actually on the main menu. Before you select your save file to load, select the 'Explore Fates' option. The other paths are purchasable there, with Revelations not available to download till early March.
Awesome news though. I've been loving my copy of Birthright, and can't wait to get to Conquest later. Even if I think the King of Nohr is a madman.
There's a novel idea. I'm glad someone at Nintendo was able to see the results and figure it out. Who knew that you could make more sales by selling things at a discount?
Seriously though, they should really consider that to be their big push. Step 1. There is still no select range in the US yet, so just drop the price and reproduce a bunch of select games in waves of 4. Step 2. Also drop the price of the consoles new and old by a margin. Step 3. PROFIT!
More moaning over a minutte feature getting cut. If I could get a dime for every post claiming censorship over the past few years, I'd be a millionaire.
@Shiryu Looks like Federation Force will be filling the Metroid anniversary game gap this year then. I do hope they have more than that to give us this year. Not that I think it will be a bad game or anything, but I want a proper Metroid experience.
@AlanJones84 Because it doesn't fall into the category that Super Smash Bros. does in the rating spectrum. Smash has always been at the highest a T rated game. But it's more of an aesthetic for me, and if I don't like, I just won't buy it. It is DLC after all. I just feel there were better choices, but it was apparently voted on the highest, so congrats.
So much potential down the tubes. I was hoping for at least 5 characters, but only 3 is a bit disappointing. I'm not to pleased with Bayonetta making it in either. She's the only character besides Snake from an M rated game so far in Smash, and that sort of clashes with me. I never really liked Snake either. Would have been better if Shantae or some other character with a strong relation to Nintendo consoles was included.
Besides that, I'm stocked for Cloud and Corrin though, and what a ride it has been. Well done Mr. Sakurai!
From watching a bunch of different videos of Did You Know Gaming, these sorts of changes have been going on way before now. I mean, it started back in the NES days, and probably even before then. The only reason people get riled up over this now is because so much information is so readily available from the internet. This isn't the first time, and it probably won't be the last.
Oh look, another article about an issue that doesn't really matter in the whole scheme of things... I would say just be thankful at least that they are localizing it at all, since this is a riskier venture for them financially speaking.
Let me just say that both sides of the argument don't have any concrete details about why it was changed. It could be because of the ESRB slapping on a M rating if it wasn't changed for all we know, or maybe they did want to protect the innocent for some reason or another. No one knows the truth, so it's just idle speculation for now.
I registered back in January 2012, but I've been lurking this site since the earlier days of its inception. I just needed a little nudge to actually join for discussion purposes, which was mostly thanks to MLP:FIM. Such great times those were.
But happy anniversary NintendoLife! It's been a heck of a ride, and I hope it doesn't stop anytime soon. All the editors and contributors to this site get a salute from me.
He deserved it rightfully. Such a driving force of one of my favorite passtimes. Though, it's sad that a person is mostly recognized for their achievements after they die. I don't know, just a thought.
And here we go again... Who really cares? As long as I can play an English speaking game, I'm am good with this. This is such a non issue to be frank when there are more important things to worry about than a costume change.
So ok, but nothing particularly special. Sounds about what I was expecting, based on impressions and all I've heard. Still, I should be able to play this how it should be, since I got siblings to rely on locally. I got so much to do as is though that I'll probably what for a sale on this.
@Aqueous Would be fun to play some with you on this in the future if can.
I found out about it only this morning, and am still reeling from the shock I had. As the only President of the comfy I really knew about, he was an icon to me growing up. And the fact he helped make so many memorable games is a testament to his work ethic. Heck, I may not be enjoying the same Super Smash Bros. most have come to love over the almost 2 decades.
Kinda makes you think how short life can be. Much like a vapor in the grand scheme of things.
I downloaded this last night. I know I'm going to be getting my money's worth out of this one, and I'll probably revisit it often. I already have the Wii Disc, so this will help to preserve that. Now perhaps maybe I will finally finish this adventure.
@Spoony_Tech I couldn't agree more with the assertion of English voice acting. I much prefer it if companies take the time and effort to properly dub something then just giving me english text over a Japanese voice. It kinda breaks the immersion for me. Not to say that I can't handle it, but I enjoy something far greater if I can just listen and watch the action.
Looks great though, I may just get this to compliment my Wii version, and perhaps actually finish the game finally since it's portable. I've always had a harder time finishing a game on a TV console then a handheld.
Gonna have my Majora's Mask XL come to me via mail, so I probably won't. Though, it would be fun to just mingle with some gamers with a similar interest, and watch enviously as they leave the store with their new shiny system.
I went to Target first thing in the morning before church. Got to the store just a couple of minutes after they opened, and found about 9 people already in the electronics section. Luckily, everyone was very civil about the situation, and there was plenty of Rosalinas to go around. The only figure that wasn't stocked well was Shiek. I believe the employee said they only got 4 of her for the store.
This is basically Valkyrie Chronicles, with a new coat of paint. I'm surprised so few have made that connection in the comments, but that is to be expected. I wouldn't have known either a couple of years ago before I picked it up myself.
In anycase, I really liked the demo, but I need more info before I can make a full decision on this. The gamestop preorder bonus with Majora's Mask pin is starting to sway me though.
Code Name Steam demo and Metroid Prime Trilogy for me. Can't pass this up just to keep my disc even safer. It'll be interesting to see if Code Name Steam is like Valkyrie Chronicles on PS3. Still need to finish that one.
Such a non issue. Prices will drop, but will rebound within the year, especially on sealed copies. People, myself included, like to have that physical copy they can hold and touch, so there will always be a market for that. What this will help the most are people that are not interested in collecting games physically, and they can go play it for a ton less and legally.
I will never sell my copy though, unless I need to save myself financially someday. My game probably wouldn't fetch much of a price anyways. The steel book case was stolen from my house a while ago. Rotten thieves.
Just got me one today. The manager at my local GameStop in Hawaii called me up this morning as soon as they opened and told me they had some available to do instore. Had to pay in full, but definitely worth it, and better than feeding the scalpers those insane prices.
One thing he did meantion to me though was that they were allowed to do this since everyone in the west coast states and beyond were shafted because Gamestops weren't even opened yet when they sold out from the east coast. I'm just glad my waiting and searching is finally over...
Sorry to those that had their orders canceled and didn't get a chance to order from GameStop though.
Wow... I was just thinking of how I needed to do some surveys last night. Guess I better start cracking down on that. Shame to see the program go though, but haven't been many decent rewards really for the past year or so. Hopefully we get some decent stuff to spend more coins on.
I still have some surveys from the DS and Wii era to still fill out.
I am betting latter part of the year personally. Somewhere in the August-October period. Otherwise, they will release it early next year like Awakening did, but I'm going to say we'll get it this year.
If only there was a way to band together with others across all countries to not buy these systems on Ebay and other such sites from these people. For hundreds upon hundreds to suddenly flood Ebay over the course of a day is ludicrous, and to not give these stinkers any money would definitely make them consider canceling their preorders.
I was hoping to get the MM N3DSXL, but I was stupid enough to wait a couple of minutes after the stream finished to idly chat with a friend about what was revealed. Had I known that I would not be able to purchase them in 10 minutes, my priorities would have been very different.
I have a Monster Hunter Console reserved as a backup, but I really hope they put more of these out in the wild. Would be a shame for everyone who wanted to pay only retail for them.

@Detective_TeeJay Not out in the Americas yet I'm afraid. I believe we still need to wait till March 24th for Earthbound.
Can't wait for this though. I never did get to finish this on Wii U, so this will be perfect to have portable.
