![2K SEPT SWITCH SALES](https://images.nintendolife.com/792701782bc54/2k-sept-switch-sales.900x.jpg)
Update (Fri 11th Sep, 2020 16:30 BST): As a quick reminder, 2K's current Switch sale ends today in the US.
Those of you in Europe will be able to enjoy these discounts for another couple of days (up until the 13th), but anyone in the US will need to get a move on. If anything takes your fancy, get on it now while you still can!
Original Article (Tue 1st Sep, 2020 10:30 BST): If the relatively quiet release schedule over the next couple of months has you wondering what to play on Switch, publisher 2K has launched a tempting sale on Switch eShop that may prove useful for filling your gaming hours in over the next few weeks.
The sale runs until the 11th September in the US, and it also appears to be live on European eShops as well where it's going until 13th September. It includes some chunky discounts on some excellent games - we've taken the liberty of listing them below with their respective discounts:
Game | US eShop | UK eShop |
---|---|---|
Civilization VI | $29.99 (was $59.99) | £22.49 (was £44.99) |
NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 | $5.09 (was $29.99) | £4.24 (was £24.99) |
Carnival Games | $9.99 (was $39.99) | £8.74 (was £34.99) |
WWE 2K18 | $19.79 (was $59.99) | £13.19 (was £39.99) |
BioShock: The Collection | $39.99 (was $49.99) | £31.99 (was £39.99) |
BioShock Remastered | $15.99 (was $19.99) | £12.79 (was £15.99) |
BioShock 2 Remastered | $15.99 (was $19.99) | £12.79 (was £15.99) |
BioShock Infinite: The Complete Edition | $15.99 (was $19.99) | £12.79 (was £15.99) |
Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition | $23.99 (was $29.99) | £19.99 (was £24.99) |
Borderlands: The Handsome Collection | $31.99 (was $39.99) | £27.99 (was £34.99) |
Borderlands Legendary Collection | $39.99 (was $49.99) | £31.99 (was £39.99) |
XCOM 2 Collection | $39.99 (was $49.99) | £31.99 (was £39.99) |
NBA 2K20 is also on sale in the US until 2nd September for $4.99, just ahead of the release of the next entry later this month.
This latest 2K sale is similar to one the publisher ran back in February, although the addition of Bioshock, Borderlands and XCOM make this far more tempting.
Again, the sale is running until 11th September in the US (and presumably Canada) and 13th September in Europe, so you've got a week or two to make up your mind if you're on the fence. If you need some help, you'll find reviews for the games above by heading to their corresponding game pages (just click on the titles).

Shame you can't but Borderlands 2 by itself, I'm tempted by Bioshock Infinite as its the only one I haven't played
I have all the Bioshock games but for anyone who never played any of them I suggest you get to it!! Amazing games to be gracing a Nintendo console for the first time!! FPS fans Don’t miss them!! Atmosphere is incredible!! 😊
@carlos82 Bioshock infinite is amazing Hop to it! Lol- if you enjoyed the first 2 you’ll love it 😊
Sadly the BioShock games ported here weren't the best of transfers (at least from reviews and videos I've watched) or else I'd be tempted to buy it.
I'm not buying the Bioshock collection until Gyro aiming is added. Then I will buy it at full price.
Traditionally a bit too bankrupt for game investments this time of year, but I already got the rest of Bioshock trilogy in summer (and just finished downloading B2 - the first game's challenge rooms ultimately didn't hook me for now). More of a bummer to miss Civilization's DLC discounts, but I can't deny appreciating that they've started going on sale to begin with.
I got Bioshock on release day for less than that.
Please put the price in euro’s
still more money than to buy physical. I bought the borderlands collection for £24.95 from the game collection website. Bioshock I'll get too but only once they add gyro. Borderlands is actually £23.95 now
Civ 6 is currently 17€ on Amazon DE.
I'm tempted to buy it 😁
Very tempted to get Bioshock. I know they are great ports, and amazing games, but I´m not so sure if they are for me XD (not a big fan of shooters). I think they still have to go a bit cheaper to convince me.
Not much of a sale on terms of prices, can still find these cheaper in retail
I want all Bioshock, Borderlands and Xcom 2 games, but I think I'll wait for a more generous discount.
@koekiemonster I wish they would too, but Nintendo always (irritatingly) matches the Euro value to the USD value—they don't convert the true Euro value, for whatever reason. So whenever you see $, you can just pretend it says €.
Bioshock is well worth the money, I bought the cart a while back and have completed all three, and will likely play through again at some point. I thought the ports were good quality.
Seriously considering Borderlands but still think I would prefer the physical one...
can anyone recommend The Sinking City? seems like a decent discount
@the_beaver I'm in a similar boat. I want to experience the games for their story and atmosphere, but I'm also not a huge fan of first person shooters. The closest games I've played to a FPS that I've actually enjoyed are the Metroid Prime games, and that was mainly due to the Metroid elements I love (exploration, puzzles, powerups/upgrades, epic boss fights) being present.
@Tyranexx, @the_beaver don't let it keep you from getting these games... I'm not a fan of fps games either but these (especially 1 and infinite) are some of my favorite games of all time.
$40 for Bioshock or Xcom2 collection are not a deal. You are just being robbed a bit less.
@Paranoid_Android Thanks for the tip. A guy with that nickname can't be mistaken XD, so I'll consider it seriously.
Woah, they're still trying to sell WWE 2K18?
For U.K. buyers the Borderland ‘Cartridge’ (plus Download code) is £24 at The Game Collection and Bioshock is £28 at Currys PC World. These aren’t great prices.
@Godlike_Virus I don't know my friend, I bought the collection and they all play really well. They nice too. Worth a shot. Take care.
@PlayedNSlayed I went ahead and bought it because of the discount. Haven't tried it yet though. I hear the story is really well done and the investigations are fun and well thought out. Take care.
@Godlike_Virus Not sure what you heard but the Bioshock games on Switch look and play extremely well. Even in handheld mode. All of them are well worth your time
@Paranoid_Android Thanks. I'll seriously consider them, though I might go with the physical collection when I find it on discount. I realize there's still a hefty download with the physical version, but it'll still save some storage space! That way, I can also resell the collection if it isn't my cup of tea.
@Tyranexx plus you can find the physical cheaper than this sale price on Amazon!
Nice deals, but I'll just snag BioShock, XCom and Borderlands physically during Black Friday. I got Civ VI for only $20 last BF.
@NintndoNik Yep, same here. No gyro, no buyro.
I wouldn't mind getting Bioshock as a physical, but I would really want gyro.
@PapaPedro What you are forgetting is that taxes are included in the euro price while they are not for the US prices.
@IPrino I too decided to take the plunge and buy the deluxe version,so hopefully I'll enjoy it enough
@Paranoid_Android 9 times out of 10, physical usually is cheaper. One of the reasons why I don't think it'll die anytime soon.
I'm waiting for a better promo, still too expensive for ports.
@SilentHunter382 Ah, you're absolutely right! I always forget about the whole 'sales tax after the fact' thing with US purchases. Cheers.
Thanks for the reminder. Might have to grab some Bioshock Infinite before the day is up as I never got round to it first time.
I picked up Civ VI and the DLC subscription. Now all I need is about a hundred hours. Anyone willing to lend me a few?
@Godlike_Virus I've got to disagree. Having played all in dock and handheld they ran brilliantly for me and were a joy.
For EU friends, buy these game on RUS-eshop. It's about 25-27 EUR per collection.
I love Civ 6 so much. And I love the Switch as my favorite gaming platform of all time.
But Civ 6 runs like total crap on Switch. I can't get through a game without multiple crashes. And on large maps, in the late game, turns take 10+ minutes.
I got Bioshock on a cart cheaper on Amazon...not much of a "sale" when it is more expensize digitally, AND it is tied to your console AND you cannot sell it back...
@Tyranexx Bioshock is better than most FPS shooters, but it definitely is NOT close to a Metroid game. There is a bit of a story, and they have hacking "puzzles" but I find the game to be about a 7/10, at most...if you have nothing else to play, and can get it at a good discount, then go for it. USD 40 is expensive, I got the physical copy on Amazon for USD 31, and I plan on selling it back to get my money back when I am done. Having said that, it is probably better than a lot of the other FPS shooters, ymmv
Picked up Bioshock pre-owned at GameStop earlier this week and got the collection for $39.99. Takes up some space on my microSD but now I have the cartridge to add to my collection 😁😁
@Lone_Beagle I've decided to pass on the collection for now and wait for a really good deal on the physical version; I've noticed that seems to happen with a lot of 2K's games over time. I'd still like to try one or more of the games out, but I'm definitely not hurting for games to play right now lol.
A lot of people are complaining about a Switch "drought", but I'm a relatively recent adopter. I have plenty to play. XD
@Tyranexx if you are a recent adopter, then obviously all the Mario games and Zelda games are your first stop & best bets...after that you still have a lot of other top rated games to go through. I happened to pick this up just because I really don't play any FPS games at all, and wanted to try one...heard this was one of the best, so, gave it a whirl...it will tide me over until my copy of the 3D Mario remakes arrives in (gasp) 1 week!
@Lone_Beagle "Recent" might be a bit subjective depending on perspective; I've had my Switch since the holidays. But compared to those who picked one up near launch, it's recent lol. I've been working my way through a lot of the best games. I'm hoping to get to the Future Connected content of Xenoblade Chronicles this weekend and also hope to start Super Mario Odyssey soon.
