We got to see a little bit more of Bright Memory: Infinite during 'not-E3' last month. This action FPS blasted onto Steam last year with stunning visuals and electrifying combat that — with the cyberpunk feel, natural surroundings, and those weapons — reminds us a little bit of the fantastic Crysis.
Looking at trailers, we wondered "how would publisher Playism and developer FYQD Studio pull off a port of this beautiful-looking game?" Especially as it's not Cloud-based. Now we've got our first glimpse of the game running on Switch and a release date!
The game will aim to run at 1080p docked and you'll be able to shoot and slash at enemies using the Switch's gyroscope features. All in all, the trailer above gives us the impression that this will be a solid Switch port, and given how gorgeous the game looks on PC, we're glad.
The game launches on the eShop on 21st July, barely two weeks away. But if you're curious about what this hybrid shooter will bring to the table, then check out the game's description:
Bright Memory: Infinite is an epic fusion of the FPS and action genres brought to you by indie developer FYQD-Studio. Combine a range of skills and abilities to unleash dazzling combos on your enemies.
Story:
In the year 2036, a strange phenomenon for which scientists can find no explanation has occurred in the skies around the world. The Supernatural Science Research Organization (SRO) has sent agents out to various regions to investigate this phenomenon. It is soon discovered that these strange occurrences are connected to an archaic mystery - an as-of-yet unknown history of two worlds, about to come to light...
Gameplay:
Bright Memory: Infinite combines the FPS and action genres to deliver a high-octane experience. Mix and match available skills and abilities to unleash magnificient combos on your enemies. Your trusted sword allows you to slash through crowds of enemies and even repel their gunfire. The guns you come across in-game can be customized with a variety of ammunitions. Choose between incendiary bombs, sticky grenades, homing missiles, and more to suit your situation.
You can pre-order the game right now on the eShop for $19.99 ahead of its release nearer the end of the month.
Will you be picking up Bright Memory: Infinite on Switch? Played the PC version? Let us know down in the comments!

Looks amazing
Sorry who are these guys?
This looks really well done and a fantastic price at £16.75
Edit: Only two hours long though. That is a massive dampener. I will wait for a sale then. Sorry developers.
Would love to see limited run games, pick this up and let me get a physical copy. 👀
She uses a sword? Ok I am interested now.
Nice! Looks like they put a lot of effort in.
Glad I kept my eye on this. it's looking quite slick
A good candidate for best looking Switch game, assuming that this is running natively and isn't a cloud version.
I don’t understand the wizardry used to pull this off. That looks to be running at 60 fps and is gorgeous to boot.
@Kiz3000 That’s honestly perfect for the asking price. Most games over-stay their welcome, so it’s nice that this one is shorter!
NINJA APPROVED
Absolutely mind blowing what developers are pulling off with "outdated crappy technology"! Can you imagine what a Switch Pro could do? This looks insanely fun!!!
If it end up having a physical copy I may had to double dip.
@Kiz3000 Okay! I was wondering why it was only $20 dollars then. This makes sense. At that price I won't hold that length against them. Seems fair. I wouldn't say that a mediocre game is better because it's 20 hours long, in fact, it would be a better game if it was shorter. So, at only two hours long, it's going to HAVE to be a really great experience from beginning to end. Any parts of the game that don't excel will really stick out because of the short length. Will have to see what the reviews are.
How the hell is this game on Switch? LOL
It reminds me of my ..avatar.. Red Steel 2 !!! So it's looking promising!!!!
Damn this looks too good to be true!
Looks great, but also pretty tough.
Makes me want to dig out Red Steel 2. Think I’ll treat myself to this. Very happy that it’s short… I might actually finish it lol
I pre-ordered this game, first time I do so. I was sold on the trailer, and gyro controllers. Hopefully it'll be good.
@Varkster The Conduit was cool. I only got that game because my parents wouldn't let me play Halo, but it had some really unique guns and the online multiplayer was actually decent from what I remember.
I'll definitely be getting this 😁
Visuals and gameplay demonstrate great potential. Was surprised with the cheaper pricing model.
Looks pretty good, will keep an eye on this for sure and see how it review 🙂
Download size is just about 1.8gb of space.
Looks really good and a definite consideration for an insta-buy.
However, I hope it's not Soulslike, lol
I finished this last week on PC. It's not that stunning. It's about 2 hours long and super forgettable. There's zero story and character development. 6/10. The gunplay is solid, but there are only four weapons and the upgrades are an afterthought thanks to the short length.
If you don't die much you can probably scream through it in 90 minutes to be honest.
I remember when this PC game was ported to mobile and thought, why not on Switch too?(yes, this is also on mobile, but don't feel excluded) That version, despite surprisingly retaining most of the rendering features, only runs on the most powerful phones and still features hugely reduced detail.
This version is looking much more definitive
