Raji: An Ancient Epic was a high profile Indie arrival on the Switch eShop last year, catching the eye with its ancient India setting and intriguing mythology. It's made its way onto various platforms since, and now it's been confirmed that an Enhanced Edition is arriving later this year; it'll be a free update for existing owners.
As you can see in the trailer above it'll be adding a Hindi voiceover, 'new game modes' and revamped gameplay. It seems we'll need to wait a little longer for specifics on the new content in particular, but it'll certainly be welcome.
In rather good timing with the announcement it's currently 50% off on the eShop (until 16th August).
Let us know if you already have this game, or if you're perhaps thinking of grabbing it at a discount in good time for the new content later in the year.

I think I read somewhere it’s getting a physical release too, but can’t find it. Am I wrong about that?
Nice. I wonder if they’ll revamp combat a bit. Maybe with weapon switching and magic styles coming into play a bit more. And have some better upgrade mechanics in place too.
I picked this one up but somehow never finished it. Maybe the update will convince me to.
I've had my eye on this one since it was revealed in a Nintendo Direct (Unless it was some E3 or awards show presentation)
With the sale going on, I might go ahead and take the plunge. At this point, I'll play anything to keep me from wasting more hours in Pokemon Unite, really.
Did they fix the constant crashes the switch version had at release? That's why I dropped it after a few hours.
@Friendly The dev did mention on their Twitter that they are considering it after various demands but it would probably come after the other platforms got their port and after they had released all DLCs. I say maybe wait 2 more years if you want to get the physical version.
@Specter_of-the_OLED ah yes, that was it. Thank you.
I can wait. Most games eventually get a physical release in some way.
Nice! I bought this game and thought it was decent fun. The mythology and all the voice work was the most stand out stellar part of it. Nice to see it get a polish.
I bought it at release and really loved the atmosphere and storytelling. The gameplay itself (jumping/fighting) was kind of floaty-feeling, so maybe they'll tweak that a bit? I'll definitely play through it again once the update is out.
If they don’t fix the performance on Switch, I have to hope there’s a version elsewhere with the Enhanced Edition update. Hindi VO definitely makes me wanna check out the new version, and any improvements to the gameplay are welcome. The vibe and aesthetics are top notch, but everything else fell flat for me in the demo.
@Spiders I read earlier that it's been added to Gamepass. Going by the trailer, it looks and runs better too.
Played Raji at launch and was so disappointed I actually asked Nintendo for a refund (which they didn't issue). Really excited to see the revamped gameplay, new voiceover, and hopefully some improved performance and presentation. Definitely will give Raji another try when the update is released
I bought it for half price a couple of months ago, and finally tried it a few weeks ago. Although reasonably well crafted, after an hour or so I wasn't motivated to continue. Not particularly bad, just not compelling to me.
A few reported performance issues made me hold off on this one but my partner is Indian and we always love seeing some good representation of her mother country's history and mythology in gaming. This certainly looks like it aces that. This is reminding me that I really should have picked it up already.
I'll definitely play it on Hindi with spanish subs
I bought it at launch but I never got around to playing it. I should probably give it a go before the update comes out.
Ah. It's currently on my backlog. Interesting
This has me excited since I recently got it for 50% off but haven't had time to play it. I'll definitely wait for the new update.
I saw its coming to game pass too. I'd like to play it on switch though as I'm more likely to finish it there.
Good on them for providing new content and not charging everyone for it. Good karma for an indie team. Excited to find out what's new and/or changed.
Bought it day one on PS4 & playing it again on Game Pass + free update is a service. Only pay for amazing DLC. Paying for an upgrade is always a pass & probably a future pass when they release a new game (my overall rule from now on)
Day one supporters pay the most & have mostly some bugs to take in account. The longer you wait, the cheaper & better the game is. Wreckfest is the best example for me, so I'll pass a next one & maybe miss out unless I can get it super cheap. I'll be very pick for buying a next battle pass, season pass, ... I remember day one buyers of Super Hot were rewarded and that's always a nice surprise!
This game was worth it's price because I liked the overall presentation.
Purchased it the day it came out, played it and the jumping mechanics were off and the game crashed three times. Have not revisited it but that trailer was so good, it made me buy the game. Hoping they fixed all of the issues.
@OorWullie I have it in my Gamepass queue! Now I’m waiting/hoping to see if it gets the Enhanced Edition update as well.
And they've made the Switch home icon horrible. Please change it back developer's if you are reading this.
