Re: Soapbox: Super Metroid Showed Me I Had The Right To Exist

Kieroni

So much I could say to this whole, article, I love it. I remember exactly when I first learned Samus was a woman. I was sitting in my brother's room, playing SSB64 with him. (a rarity, as I was his annoying little sister) I picked Samus to play as, and I believe I said something like "I like Samus. He's cool." And my brother said "Samus is a girl, actually." And even as a vaguely seven-year-old, that felt pretty cool. Samus was cool, man. Even as young as I was, I knew that she was unique in her medium.

Of course the problem is that when Samus has her armor on, she's a badass. Strong, stoic, serious. But then as soon as she takes off her helmet, Nintendo has to be like "Oh crap, right, she's a FEMALE" and mucks it all up.

Re: Know Your E3 History? Test Your Credentials With Our Nintendo E3 Quiz

9/12. Pretty good for someone who didn't have internet until 2015. 2016 was the first year I had a good chance of watching it though. It was my senior year, right before graduation, and pretty much had all free classes so I logged onto E3 literally right when Link released the arrow and the fade to white in the announcement trailer. I turned to another dude in my class that I knew was watching on his phone and asked if I had just seriously missed a Zelda announcement and he was like "yup"

Re: Bustafellows Brings 80 Hours Of "Steamy" Visual Novel Gameplay To Switch This July

Not sure why people would click on an obvious otome game article to complain about visual novels. 🤔 I have a hard time making time for them, and I have this contradictory want to listen to all the voice acting but also I read really fast and lose patience when I have to wait for the game. I still haven't even really dipped my toes in Steins;Gate, and I've had it for years

Re: New Pokémon Snap Director Explains How They Decided Which Pokémon Would Make The Cut

@Doofenshmirtz A little while before that E3, the Youtuber JoCat did a video about looking at Pokemon animations. As a side note, he said with the sheer amount of Pokemon, no matter how linited their animations are, if they keep adding them, eventually they will have to have a limited selection in the games.

I found this completely reasonable and wasn't terribly surprised or upset that they were limiting Pokemon.

The thing that did make me angry was how they announced it. As a side note in a treehouse presentation. I watched it live and was like "Really? Did he really just say that all casual like maybe of they say it quietly people won't notice?" And then Gamefreak was just a little scummy about it. They really could've used more tact.

Re: Random: Nintendo Has Uploaded Its Switch Online Trailer (Again), And It's Still Getting Disliked

Kieroni

It is disappointing that we're four years in, and all we're getting is drip fed third party SNES games that no one cares about. Like, there are GB and GBC games, if they aren't wanting to do N64 games yet. Though they've demonstrated that they have a perfectly good N64 emulator. It's just kind of annoying that Nintendo holds such a tight grasp on things that are impossible to get legit.

Re: Soapbox: The Insect Glaive Is Still Awesome In Monster Hunter Rise

I'm a HH and CB main in the old world. But in the demo, my obsession was the LBG. After launch it was the DB and the GS. Now this week it's been the IG. I didn't really have an opportunity to fully take my time in World, so I've been loving the training room in Rise. Between that and a very useful and concise video breaking down all the weapons, I'm hoping to give all the weapons a shot at some point. I'm having a blast fighting the same monsters, just with different weapons

Re: PSA: You Should Be More Of A Vicious Killer In Monster Hunter Rise

Kieroni

In World the drop tables were the same, so if you had the traps, it was always better to capture. But Rise goes back to the Old World tables, which has different drop rates and sometimes trap or kill exclusive bits. It's a little funny since the default was always to kill in places like MHGen, but maybe it's all the World players? Idk. I haven't played with any randos yet

Re: Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings Of Ruin Switch File Size Seemingly Revealed

Kieroni

@UltimateOtaku91 The biggest games on my Switch are Spyro and Project Diva. One is a port of a triple pack of games using tons of detailed models, one is a rhythm game with over 100 songs and tons of DLC. Most my other games are 6-8. It's a matter of compression and optimization. It's more a testament to Capcom's talented optimization then any sort of negative. Once the free updates come out, the file size will balloon, but that's just how DLC works, not because the game is gouged or anythibg silly like that
