Something I don't get, why didn't Nintendo specifically advertise it's totally fine to play as your first Pikmin game? I wasn't sure if I was going to get it until someone told me it didn't matter.
Nintendo should've been shouting it from the rooftops, but they didn't. That probably hurt sales.

@Daniel36 Just FYI, "Jap" is an offensive slang word for Japanese people that really shouldn't be used still. "Jpn" would be a better abbreviation

I already own it on 3ds, and with the new game plus mechanic, there wouldn't be much pptint in starting over on the Switch...

My friend came in at World, got a Switch as soon as Rise was announced, and now we're playing through 4U and GU together as we wait for Rise. :3 We also both have 3U, but without online play, that'll be harder to figure out

With how fast the first HW ate the Switch's battery and how wonky the pop in was, I was expecting it. I'm probably getting it either way, but I may wait for a bit after release in hopes that there will be a performance patch, especially since I'm playing pretty exclusively in handheld mode with everyone home all the time

Why are people defending this? It's gross to promote or normalize sexual harassment. That should be a no brainier. There's many other "slapstick" actions they could've used.

@komodo182 But de-maked, yes. If you really want to play all the games in the series, there is merit to the original, but if you've played any of the remakes of the original game, you've already seen the story with better graphics and less bad RNG.

I'm getting it in futile hopes that they'll some day bring over ones like Genealogy of the Holy War and Binding Blade.

Pre-Covid, it was probably more of a 70-30 split with handheld, but now that people are always home (with only one TV) and I'm not going to people's houses to play party games, it's more like 90% of the time. The Switch's small size, even with the dock, makes it great for bringing to places that may want to play. :3

It's very cute they used the "Can you pet the dog" twitter format.

Haven't played it yet, but I'm glad I downloaded the files when it first game out.

@Kienda Seriously. I've told so many kids and parents about the free repairs, and not a single one knew about it, and so many of them wasted money on new sets? Nintendo has been doing the bare minimum, and it's scummy that they're still selling them. I wish that they would stop and just do a redesign.

@MS7000 Really? There were a ton of zany and unique characters. Even a lot of the villagers had unique designs. The only ones who didn't were the travelers and stable workers, and they didn't need crazy personalities

The EV training mini game in XY was high impossible to play as a leftie. L=A is a great option, until it means you can't do certain menu functions. And SuMo's Rotom screen was distracting and annoying to open the map on.

@Muddy_4_Ever I feel you on that. I'm intrigued by Cuohead, Shovel Knight, Hollow Knight, etc. But I am so terribly bad at those Metroidvania/Bullet hell style games I know that if I picked one of them up, I would just get too frustrated, and it would seriously sap my enjoyment of the game. I'm still sitting in at the beginning of the secret ending for Cave Story, because despite trying and trying and trying, I never even got halfway to the final boss.

@Bobb The art style itself is an improvement over the games over the last few years, so it's like, 5% improvement.

The art style is better, but not the graphics themselves or the definite mobile feel. It pretty much looks like Seeds of Memories, and holy woah was that game's interface ugly.

Ya know, I want the HM games to get good, if they're gonna keep making these rip offs, I wish they'd be entertaining enough to fill the gaps between SoS, RF, SDV, etc, but as it is, it feels like such a scam I don't even want to buy one as a time waster.

@TheLightSpirit Just because someone didn't get SwSh doesn't mean they're childish. :/ I tried really hard to get through Moon twice, but the game long tutorial was so bad that I couldn't stand it. I loved my team, I loved the region, could not stand the game. SuMo did nothing to improve that, by what the reviews said, so I skipped it. Let's Go seemed cute and nostalgic, but I couldn't see myself spending $60 on it. I really wanted to like SwSh, I really wanted it to be good, I didn't even care about the Dex (even though GF really did seem to be rather shady over the whole thing) but with all of the issues that came up, I just couldn't get it, not after my experience with Moon.
