@Bizzyb Oh, I thought you were saying I was a wuss It's a really cool game and I loved it, super excited to play the sequel, but I had to spoil myself on the locations of things and constantly make sure I wasn't near anything scary in order to actually progress. I'm going to try my best to play Below Zero blind, but oh man, Subnautica made me realize that I have a much stronger fear of the water than I thought
I was the same way as a kid, though I was able to get past the Eastern Palace (just never the next one). I would explore for hours, sort of playing pretend in Hyrule. I would also play on my brother's finished account, exploring the dark world as well. I did it for several games, being too little to progress, but having a big brother with full files. Link to the Past, Majora's Mask, (mainly as a zora in the great bay) Link's Awakening. I may have been able ti figure out the first dungeon, but after that I just explored. I still will mess with MajorasyMask on occasion, going to the beaver's race and just swimming freely, but it's definitely a part of being a child, and it was great
@Bizzyb Yeah? You're in an alien ocean where there are giant sea monsters that will chase you down. Half the time you're in the open ocean, and the only way to progress is to go deeper. It's super scary
I was kind of hoping for a deeper remake in a more SwSh look, but the chibi style is pretty faithful to the original artstyle, and it looks so much better then the fish eyed bobbleheads that the Friends of Mineral Town remake had.
I bought it last month while it was on sale, didn't wanna play it before the full release though. I'll probably wait a month so the worst of the kinks get ironed out.
The first one was terrifying though, I'm not even sure if I'll be able to play this one. ;w;
@Anti-Matter I mean, the same generalization could be that male artists draw the girls as waifish with big boobs. I don't think gender of the artisthas anything to do with the quality of the designs. I like the bishi look, personally. And I mostly meant the game's model art style, not the portraits. I tend to like the portraits in the SoS games no matter the style, it's the models themselves that look not-great.
I have to agree though, MHSt2 has some awesome looking characters. I just played the first one, and I was impressed at how well the characters looked and how well the artstyle worked with the MH universe.
It is kind of a shame, I find the original Friends of Mineral town to have a really great art style. Very vibrant and pretty, and it's a GBA game, but the direction they go for the art style anymore just doesn't look that appealing to me. It doesn't need to be high fidelity, but the art style should actually look nice
It was funny, because my brother and I were watching it "together", so we both screamed "AONUMA!" and then "GAAAAAH" when he said no BotW news. It was pretty funny. Happy that they aknowledged it though. And Skyward Sword
My dream reveal is a duck hunt-esque trio of the Palamute, Paluco, and Wirebug from Monster Hunter Rise. Capcom and Nintendo have a good relatuonship, and there are two MH games coming out this year
I wouldn't be surprised if BotW2 was originally scheduled for March this year, to match up with the anniversary (which was even on a Friday this year), but I think it more likely to be an "E3" announcment, as a holiday title because of Covid
I actually noticed the pending update the other day. I guess I should do it. It did make me reopen the app and look at all the notes. My brother and I used it a lot before I had a cellphone, and my friends and I sent each other silly nites. Was cute to see it again, I hadn't realized those had survived all the 3ds I had replaced
@UltimateOtaku91 Oh believe me, people said stuff about Fire Emblem. 1000 year old dragon has pretty much become shorthand for "creepy excuse for this 12-year old to be legal"
@sandman89 That was crazy, I can only imagine how much that confused people. They'd have to come up with something unique for the Switch, like messing around with the joy con or something
Probably nothing, but I'd love a remake. I know people diss it nowadays, but it was the first Zelda game I beat all on my own (I was stuck on a single puzzle for two weeks, that was the only time I had too look at the guidebook) The temple of the Ocean King terrified me to death as a kid, but I'll still replay it every few years, it has a special place in my heart.
I didn't want to play the demo too much, but I did play it enough to get comfortable with moving with the wirebugs. I really like them, my main complaint is that the third wirebugs doesn't last long enough. I also don't use them consistently enough in combat, but that'll come in time. I'm used to Hunter Arts being like an ultimate move.
@Rhaoulos It's also a remake of a gba game, and while they added a lot of stuff, most of it was empty fluff. I got it because nostalgia, but RF is definitely the superior series imo
@duffmmann My thoughts exactly. I'm still only in my first year in the Mineral Town remake, and the 1.5 Stardew update is out. So much farming game, so little time
I wouldn't run out and buy one day one, bht whenever my Switch starts to go kaput, I'd like to be able to buy an upgraded version of some sort. Nothing crazy, just a little beefier, some of the kinks ironed out
Wooooah! Considering HH was literally the rock bottom for World, that's exciting. I'm not 100% in love, as an old world HH main, but it's nice to see it getting so much love
@Clyde_Radcliffe Now that I have decent internet, Splatoon ran great during the last Splatfest, but even playing with my brother, who has great internet, it's a stuttery mess
Yessss, the random music selection.cthey added like, five new versions of each track, but you had to choose each one manually. I'll have to go check it out now
@Radbot42 Yeah, I felt like what little training there was in the demo wasn't enough/was too obtuse to actually teach the newbies, while also being too simple to teach the experienced players. It needs an actual training mode that walks you through the moves. (Bith for newbies and people like me who mostly missed World/IB)
Yeaaah, I played the demo of this on Steam last year, and it felt very early alpha and flat, I didn't find any enjoyment in it, but figured it would improve in development, but then it got released very soon after that, so I figured it would end up like this
"You were close!" I mean, it makes sense. It's easy to score, easy to understand, easy to aim for. At least we now have ways to save the cool looking ones outside of the original album.
I figured this movie would be good for ooing at the big monsters on a big screen, so Covid kinda took what little it had going for it. I'll still be watching it as some point though.
I'd want a remake. Not to the extent of the FF7 remake, but something that isn't just an upscale, but has new models, animations, and especially story scenes. Really make it feel like a more modern game. That'd be really cool.
I just bought a second charger finally, Nintendo! I need to buy a nice portable one for whenever Covid is over and I'm playing party games with people again. It's a pain ti unhook the dock everytime, but I was kinda spooked after the whole "third party docks bricking consoles" thing
@Brydontk I don't think that was really the point though. We tend to like specific starters because of our playtime with them, and a lot of that is their evolutions. Think of this more as an overall sort of thing
Torchic, Cyndaquil, and Piplup are my favorite. They are a good mix of adorable and useful, without having funny looking evolutions, especially Torchic. I don't dislike the first gen starters, but they wouldn't end up on any of my fav lists.

I still want it though help

A darker story may have brought people back to the series. I may get it, but I'm also pretty likely to just skip over it and get Rune Factory 5
