I only care about Switch 2 nothing else matters

I still maintain the long term success of Switch 2 is not the name or backwards compatability its Switch 2 exclusive games that are not on Switch 1, if all the big first party games are on both Switch 2 and Switch 1 then there is no reason to get a Switch 2

I don't care for Switch 1 it is a dead console to me

might as well make everything bigger with next gen the console itself, the game cases and game files

June is the most likely release, why reveal in mid January and a early April Direct just to release in September? Doesn't make any sense when Switch 1 released less the two months after the January Switch presentation

yeah the early adopters will not be your average joe schmo casual gamer they are the hardcore gamers who will pay whatever price, people who are getting the current Switch now won't get a Switch 2 until 2035

Nintendo should have revealed the console sooner its their own fault the Switch 2 got leaked

I have no confidence I will be able to get a Switch 2 day one no matter how many Nintendo ships out, the demand for this console is going to insane and the bots/scalpers will be out in full force

they highlight "Switch 2 exclusive games" to me that means only on Switch 2 and not on Switch 1

It did the bare minimum and after do long I'm just relieved the Switch 2 is 100% official

I followed the leaks just because and the fact a huge cunk of them are legit kinda took the surprise away

@Divide_and_Wander remember in January 2017 they showed off the Switch and its games then two months later it released so this is likely a June release, doubtful they show the console and games in April but no release until the fall

yeah a Direct in April focused on the Switch 2 but that better include the games releasing within its first year

99% are likely fake

while I don't believe "Switch 2" is being revealed on Thursday I do believe companies like Square, Konami and others will support the next console with bigger "newer" games that simply could not run on Switch, this is a given

will only believe it until officially confirmed by Nintendo, if Wednesday comes and goes with no announcement then this is fake, you don't shadow drop a new generation console video with no heads up

@X68000 I've done my research when it comes to new generation hardware Nintendo has always stated when they plan to reveal the hardware, they have not said that once yet for "Switch 2", to me announcement means you are talking about something but not showing

that's just assuming "Switch 2" does release this year which there is zero guarantee it does

the go to excuse now is "its A.I it's all A.I" without giving any reason or evidence to prove its A.I

people clearly forget history Nintendo ALWAYS announces their new hardware two years in advance
Switch announced in 2015 released in 2017
Wii U announced in 2010 released in 2012
Wii announced in 2004 released in 2006

If its not on "Switch 2" I do not care I am done with the Switch

@ozwally unlikely Nintendo have made their initial mention of "Switch 2" in May 2024 why wait almost 1 year just to say the successor is still a long ways off?

personally I think this announcement before the end of the fiscal year will be either they announce when they plan to reveal the "Switch 2" OR its release date/window with a promise to reveal it at a later date basically exactly what Nintendo does with every new generation

correction Nintendo said "an announcement about the Switch successor within the fiscal year" that does not mean a reveal, to me an announcement and reveal are different

the same thing they post up every end of the year is not news

not until February and even then I doubt it there wasn't a general February Direct this year and no September Direct why would there be one next year

it needs 10 million minimum unites day one, 7 million will not be enough to meet demand

the absolute latest I see "Switch 2" releasing is early 2026 so Switch 1 would be 9 years old it would have to at that point but I doubt that will happen because Nintendo will have Switch 1 as the cheaper option and "Switch 2" as the premium option

Switch online is god awful why would anyone want this? just emulate their games it would be better than wasting money for NSO

is this really the "Switch successor announcement" Nintendo said they were going to make back in May? I hope not because this is so lacklustre

Metroid Dread only sold 200k more copies on a 140 million plus system to Prime's 2.8 million on the GameCube which sold 21 million that does not sound like "rapid" growth to me

@chardir they technically could reveal the console by March 31st but most likely they will give it a release window similar to Switch/NX in early 2016 months before the reveal of the Switch

the longer Nintendo waits to make this announcement about "Switch 2" the more I fear it won't release in 2025, Nintendo never said they would reveal the console before the end of the fiscal year

this is on Nintendo don't do play tests because not everyone will do as you say someone will leak stuff they know that yet still ask people not to leak info

man this leak is so disappointing, what little interest I had in what this play test was about is gone GameCube would have been so much better
