I still don't believe backwards compatability is a deal breaker for Switch 2 or needed compared to Switch 2 exclusive games that are not on the current Switch that is the most important thing of all for next gen
@LacsiraxAriscal development time for 3D Zelda games are only getting longer, took over 5 years for BOTH and over 6 for TOTK so year next 3D zelda is likely 2029 or 2030
@Rob3008 counter argument Nintendo has started they want people who already own a Switch to get multiple Switch units, there are probably millions of people who only have a Lite or base Switch who maybe were thinking or getting the Oled but now with the announcement or the new console not that far away they they now might wait for that
Tears of the Kingdom is one of the most lazy soulless copy and paste games I've ever played it tried so hard to be Breath of the Wild all over again and to me failed miserably
Digital Foundary are correct Luigis Mansion 3 has the best graphics for a first party Switch exclusive, I do not count something like Prime Remastered because it is originally a GameCube game or Monster Hunter Rise because its third party and on other platforms
"Most significant drop in hardware sales year on year" probably because Nintendo told us their next generation is not that far away so people are waiting for that announcement
Nintendo puts in less money and resources than any other gaming company and still their game development times are getting longer and is only going to get longer once "Switch 2" is out
@mattesdude vast majority of third parties for over 7 years haven't put their latest games on Switch why would they all of a sudden put their big games on Switch 1 when the next console comes out when it will likely be easier to port to that system than the current Switch? they are clearly OK ignoring the current Switch audience but next problem not
@Narrator1 other than 3D Mario and Mario Kart what other franchises will have brand new games ready for the first year of Switch 2? there won't be any new games from Zelda, Splatoon, Animal Crossing, Smash Bros, Luigis Mansion, Pokemon, Metroid, Donkey Kong, Pikmin etc in that first years because they all just got games and game development takes years
main thing I want from Switch 2 is exclusive games to Switch 2 that simply can not run on Switch 1, nobody is buying a $400 to $500 console for backwards compatability or cross gen games they buy a console for the exclusives
Nintendo "fans" are the reason why Metroid isn't more popular than it is, the large majority of Nintendo fans refuse to give Metroid a chance for no reason
I'm getting worried that Switch 2 isn't going to have near as many big games in its first few years compared to Switch because of how many big games Nintendo has just given to Switch 1 in the past few years, Switch 2 is probably going to be very back heavy because game development is getting longer and Nintendo is not immune to that
isn't it funny how Nintendo and Pokemon fans criticise developers rushing out games that end up being buggy and broken but when Pokemon does that those same fans hardcore defend it, the hypocrisy
the people who are getting Switch 2 early are the hardcore fans not the casual fans or normies they wait a few years in when it's got plenty of exclusive games
if your doing a remaster or remake and pricing it at $60 it better include a lot of brand new content and improvements to the original game if not it should be $40 max
there will be games this year but I'm setting my expectations to just small tier releases simply because we are towards the end of the Switch generation than at the beginning and the big games we want now need to saved for the next console to give that the best chance at success
2024 is going yo be a ghost town for Switch now that next gen is likely delayed to next year Nintendo doesn't even have Pokemon so carry their 2024 holiday

Re: Rumour: Switch "Successor" Will Be Backwards Compatible, It's Claimed
I still don't believe backwards compatability is a deal breaker for Switch 2 or needed compared to Switch 2 exclusive games that are not on the current Switch that is the most important thing of all for next gen
Re: Talking Point: Would $499 Be Too Much For 'Switch 2'?
Yes it is way too expensive for a Nintendo console that doesn't compare to the other consoles on the market
Re: Round Up: Everything Announced At The 2024 Pokémon World Championships Closing Ceremony
Pokemon fans: please game freak take more time to make your games better
also Pokemon fans: I WANT A NEW POKEMON GAME NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Re: Rumour: Game Developers Supposedly Told Not To Expect Switch "Successor" In Current Financial Year
I will happily take a April or May release for next gen I do not want to wait till November 2025 for "Switch 2"
Re: Feature: We Look To The Past To Predict Every First-Party 'Switch 2' Release Until 2029
@LacsiraxAriscal development time for 3D Zelda games are only getting longer, took over 5 years for BOTH and over 6 for TOTK so year next 3D zelda is likely 2029 or 2030

Re: Random: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Sold Better Than Tears Of The Kingdom Last Quarter
Tears of the Kingdom is one of the most lazy soulless copy and paste games I've ever played it tried so hard to be Breath of the Wild all over again and to me failed miserably
Re: Nintendo Switch Sales Hit 143 Million As Hardware And Software Figures Decline
bet if Nintendo didn't tell people in May that next gen is on the horizon sales would be higher
Re: Poll: Do You Prefer Fire Emblem: Three Houses Or Engage?
I couldn't bring myself to finish Enaged it was that boring where as Three Houses I have put in over 800 hours
Re: Poll: Are You Ready To Move On From The Switch?
I've been ready to move on from Switch for the past three years
Re: Digital Foundry Hails Luigi's Mansion 3 As The Best-Looking Exclusive Switch Game
Digital Foundary are correct Luigis Mansion 3 has the best graphics for a first party Switch exclusive, I do not count something like Prime Remastered because it is originally a GameCube game or Monster Hunter Rise because its third party and on other platforms
Re: Soapbox: Has Nintendo Set A Precedent That 'Switch 2' Can't Hope To Match?
No change next gen sells anywhere near as much as Switch 1 it's going to sell less the question is how much less
Re: Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Was Nintendo's "Best-Selling" Switch Game In May 2024 (US)
"Most significant drop in hardware sales year on year" probably because Nintendo told us their next generation is not that far away so people are waiting for that announcement
Re: Nintendo President Says Longer Game Development Cycles Are "Unavoidable"
Nintendo puts in less money and resources than any other gaming company and still their game development times are getting longer and is only going to get longer once "Switch 2" is out
Re: Component Shortage No Longer An Issue For Switch Successor, Says Nintendo
how many next gen systems does Nintendo plan to manufacture for its initial launch? anything under 5 million won't be enough
Re: Feature: 54 Switch Ports We'd Love To See Before The Generation's Out

Re: Feature: 54 Switch Ports We'd Love To See Before The Generation's Out
the second Switch 2 is out third parties are going to ditch Switch 1 in a heart beat guarantee
Re: Soapbox: 'Switch 2' Is Nintendo's Chance To Adopt The PC Feature It's Desperate To Take For A Spin
@OorWullie it took Nintendo over 5 years for BOTW and over 6 years for TOTK It hard to believe they can make a new 3D Zelda in 2 or 3 years
Re: Soapbox: 'Switch 2' Is Nintendo's Chance To Adopt The PC Feature It's Desperate To Take For A Spin
@nhSnork there are cross gen games which are made with the previous console in mind and not the new one
Re: Soapbox: 'Switch 2' Is Nintendo's Chance To Adopt The PC Feature It's Desperate To Take For A Spin

Re: Reaction: A Direct That Delivered, And Shows That Switch Still Has Plenty Of Pep
I'm getting worried that Switch 2 isn't going to have near as many big games in its first few years compared to Switch because of how many big games Nintendo has just given to Switch 1 in the past few years, Switch 2 is probably going to be very back heavy because game development is getting longer and Nintendo is not immune to that
Re: Final Fantasy XIV Online Director Would Love To See Square Enix's MMO On A "Nintendo Platform"
no way FF14 can run on Switch 1, if it can't run on next gen 14 probably never going to be on a Nintendo platform
Re: Hands On: Luigi's Mansion 2 HD Delivers More Than Just A Hi-Def Upgrade
It is a good $40 pick up but at $60 not a chance
Re: Feature: We Look To The Past To Predict Every First-Party 'Switch 2' Release Until 2029
we just got Splatoon 3 just over 1 year ago we don't need 4 anytime soon it's time for a new Animal Crossing early on into next gen
Re: Talking Point: Would You Want Quality And Performance Options For Nintendo's 'Switch 2' Games?
Yes absolutely I don't really care about high resolution graphics but high frame rate I value very much
Re: Rumour: Pokémon Leaker Suggests Gen 10 Games Are Coming In 2026
isn't it funny how Nintendo and Pokemon fans criticise developers rushing out games that end up being buggy and broken but when Pokemon does that those same fans hardcore defend it, the hypocrisy
Re: Rumour: Pokémon Leaker Suggests Gen 10 Games Are Coming In 2026
@ikki5 how dare fans wants a high quality game that isn't buggy and broken 🙄
Re: Nintendo Acknowledges That Successor Announcement May "Impact" Switch Sales
the people who are getting Switch 2 early are the hardcore fans not the casual fans or normies they wait a few years in when it's got plenty of exclusive games

Announce it THIS YEAR and release it in March 2025
Re: Nintendo Switch "Successor" Announcement Is Coming "This Fiscal Year"
Thank you this is all I've been asking for
Re: Poll: Are You Bothered By The Frame Rate For Paper Mario: TTYD On Switch?
there Is no defending 30fps, 60fps is just better
Re: Bayonetta Origins Director Empathises With Paper Mario Dev, Suggests Reasons For 30FPS
Nintendo should just make better hardware
Re: Saber Interactive CEO Doesn't Think $70 Video Games Are Sustainable
I'm not spending more than $60 on a game no game is worth $70 or more
Re: Dragon Quest 12 Reportedly Suffers Delay, Producer "Steps Down" Following Reshuffle
I don't see any way this is on the current Switch
Re: Japanese Charts: Princess Peach: Showtime Rules Over The Competition
yikes as of now Nintendos only brand new games for 2024 and don't even crack 100k
Re: Talking Point: Why Isn't Nintendo Revealing Its Partner Devs Before Launch?
Nintendo barley makes games themselves anymore they just get other companies to do their work for them
Re: Poll: So, Do You Prefer Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Or Tears Of The Kingdom?
Breath of the Wild was revolutionary where as Tears of the Kingdom is just more of the same 6 years later
Re: Leaked Trailer For Sonic's New Mobile Game Gives Off Major 'Fall Guys' Vibes
the Atlus/Sega leaker is right yet again
Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Princess Peach: Showtime! For Switch?
I'm way more interested in getting Thousand Year Door remake than Peach Showtime
Re: Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance Will Now Arrive "One Week Earlier" On Switch
Atlus didn't want to get overshadowed by Elden Ring DLC and I'm being serious
Re: Talking Point: Should We Be Expecting More From Remakes And Remasters?
if your doing a remaster or remake and pricing it at $60 it better include a lot of brand new content and improvements to the original game if not it should be $40 max
Re: Nintendo Confirms Switch Release Dates For Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door & Luigi's Mansion 2 HD
Well likely no normal Direct until June
Re: Princess Peach: Showtime! Developer Seemingly Revealed In Demo's Code
so everyone who said this was internally developed by Nintendo themselves were wrong
Re: The 2024 'State Of Switch' Survey Is Here And It Wants Your Gaming Opinions
there will be games this year but I'm setting my expectations to just small tier releases simply because we are towards the end of the Switch generation than at the beginning and the big games we want now need to saved for the next console to give that the best chance at success
Re: Rumour: Paper Mario & Luigi's Mansion 2 News Potentially Coming On MAR10
not exactly exciting news IMO it's just updates on already known games that are not new
Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Announced, Coming To Switch In 2025
2024 is going yo be a ghost town for Switch now that next gen is likely delayed to next year Nintendo doesn't even have Pokemon so carry their 2024 holiday
Re: Rumour: New Report From Nikkei Corroborates 'Switch 2' Delay Into 2025
"March at the earliest" that alone fills me with fear we have to wait even longer, I am ready to move on from the Switch
