@CANOEberry not too often but sometimes it "stutters" however it's not too bad and doesn't ruin the game. I didn't notice pop up. The story is awesome though. The only problem I had until I got used to it was I can't read a map for crap. I could be standing in a spot and do a full 360 and not know where I am! I'm so bad with that!

@CANOEberry I'll check it out but Firewatch for $4.99 is amazing. I couldn't believe how great that game was. I waited for it to go on sale. Finally it did and I grabbed it.

"Skeptical". Yah makes sense. They pushed that title to its limits...they'll need a new concept to continue in the next installment.

If nintendo released the planned line up for Switch 2 on this current Switch, they'd easily sell 10 million more units. This gen Switch just keeps on going.

@Kraven I was wondering about DQ XI myself. Maybe it's on the list for "Best Jrpg on Switch"!

@John_Deacon I'd say ACNH benefitted from the Covid, (yah, I know you don't hear about it anymore, don't get me started) break. That game holds no candle to ACNL. Sold great, but not a great game. It's not terrible but...

@TheBigK exactly what I believe as well. If they drop the price and keep it out as a lower cost option, then it will.

If you announce a new system, current system sales could take a dive. Switch though keeps rolling along. If they keep the system out along the new one and drop the price, then "yes". If not, probably won't catch DS.

Even though I have no idea what's going on, I watch my son play because of Oatchi.

I know enough to say Dragon Quest XI S is a better JRPG

@Anti-Matter download the demo in the eshop. There's a generous 10hours easy of game play. Plus when you buy the game, you can roll your save into the game. I played it 3 years ago. I played about 145 hours to finish it. I kept thinking how great the game was and so I started a new game last week! There's so much to do and see.

@Anti-Matter I still think DQ XI S is a better game than both BOTW and TOTK.

@Freek only if you're not including DQ XI S. That still is a better JRPG.

I don't play Zelda so I'll save $70. And they are only doing it because over the last few years Nintendo has gotten more greedy. Anyway. As far as a new Switch or Switch successor. 2 hours ago I would have said late 2024 or 2025, but it hit me that Nintendo hasn't mentioned Mario or DK in some time and MK 8 opted for updates over mk9. So I wonder if they are loading the cannons. Plus Animal Crossing New Horizons felt like a stop gap and not a full game...Where's New Leaf remastered? But then I remember Ys 10 and DQ XII for Switch. So I really don't know. I guess late 2024.

@JpBongo good point. The Left hasn't desicrated the nintendo IPs. The nintendo of old though would never have let half the games I see on Switch into their library...just because developers try to cater to all types doesn't mean it's good for society.

@theModestMouse I agree. They don't have that "we won't disgrace ourselves and show that" aura anymore. The want to make a buck and not restrict a whole lot.

@locky-mavo they've changes over the last couple of years about particular game content. I personally don't like it. But to make a buck you "have to" appeal to more players.. which I don't really agree with.

"It wont change much?" What? They've gone pretty liberal if you ask me. They used to care about what content is shown. I purchased games, was very surprised by what I saw, got rid of the game. So maybe "they can't change much". But it wouldn't surprise me if they did.

Kemco's the king, something or other, the heiress. Old school rpg. So far so good.

Ys books 1 & 2 would be grea. Esp book 1. I guess I'm so desperate for that game I always have hope for it.

@aaronsullivan I live here in the US. Work in manufacturing and see families struggle because of the inept administration. Be careful of what you read. Alot of "news" if to the left. But enough about that. It's pretty amazing how the Switch never saw a price reduction. I'm real happy regarding Nintendo's success. It just means more cash for R&D, and "emergency money." Funny how others are copying the Switch. It's dangerous to go against N, but it makes N do better. I'm not in a rush for a Switch succesor....I'm still holding out for Ys 1 to come out on Switch!

@tseliot that the problem with gaming today. Too easy to move along to the next game at the touch of a button. In the 80's and even 90s you would replay the same game cartridge between what, 10- 150 times?

Well I'm playing Alliance Alive right now and like it so much I could see myself playing it again. Ys VIII will get another go and possibly if I want to dive in...DQXI S

@Bablommebite I was in the same boat. I got Grandia first. Then ended up getting the game on game cube. I thought this game was way better than Grandia.

Anyway. Yes this game is long overdue. As long over due as Ys books 1 and 2. Or at least one anyway.

Kirby was the biggest surprise. Could have been #1 just because it came from no where.

@Hydra_Spectre I have been looking literally weekly since the Switch was released for the release of Ys 1. That is one of my favorite RPGS of all time. I would love to hear it Ys Book 1.
