@Clyde_Radcliffe The Saudi PIF (amongst other state entities in the middle east) are heavily engaged in what's known as 'sportswashing', which is an attempt to redirect interest from the nation's terrible record of human rights abuses and instead normalise the country's image on an international stage.

In football they are buying players for massively inflated sums to validate their league and in doing so are affecting the market. In addition, they are buying foreign clubs in successful leagues (see Newcastle United) and pumping in money to allow teams to transform their squads, facilities and stadiums at a rate a 'normal' club never could. State sponsored cheating in my opinion.

Not as familiar with golf but they are heavily invested there too.

@SpaceboyScreams I spent a couple of years working with a big third party publisher as a QA tester and this was my experience too, bar the treatment your partner was subjected to. Though that was present for others.

I enjoyed "working in the gaming industry" while I was there but I never looked back once I got a decent job with good hours, pay and conditions. QA tester in gaming is not an appealing job.

@Bunkerneath Just be careful if you have Afterbirth+ physical edition. The DLC only works if you are playing the eShop version. Dev on Twitter says it'll be a few weeks before they resolve the issue.

Really disappointed by that personally. Been a huge BOI fan for years and have to wait weeks longer than the rest of the world to play unless I want to shell out an additional €40 to get the digital edition.

They are underage girls. The point of this game is to sexualise underage girls, girls who are literally school girls.

No amount of "you're ignorant and don't understand the culture" will change the fact that these games a very thinly veiled way for people to sexualise underage girls.

@AndyRogan Every game has bugs and especially since the advent of constant updates and DLC some of these issues inevitably make their way into the game. In my experience the publisher has more of a hand in this than the developer because they very much rush the testing along to meet target dates. People are super harsh on GF.

I feel like GF get a lot of the hate that should be directed at the Pokemon Company. They had a bug and they fixed it. What more do you want?

Switch has a ton of amazing games for sure, but it would be willfully ignorant to say that there's not way too much crap there too.

I'm put off browsing the eshop largely due to the amount of bad games I have to trawl through to find something I want to play. That and the eshop generally sucks for browsing anyway.

That being said, the second market is nothing compared to what it once was. Most second gand places are selling games ar damn near retail price which is a joke anyway. Regular online sales are the way to procure cheap games nowadays.

These games have a three year dev cycle, it is not surprising that they are skipping switch. In fact I was worried they would announce it and we would get some broken port.

Agree with the above. Adding new layers of 'special' abilities or qualities dilutes any sense of novelty that any Pokemon has had in the series.

I really couldn't care less about any of the new legendary/mega/ultra creatures. Even shiny Pokemon are too easy to come by now.

As I said in the other Pokemon switch thread: We need a more open experience, not another gimmick.

I have this problem where I keep buying more switch games than I have the time to play. It just keeps getting worse.

There's a lot of people criticising this article in the comments here. This is all we know so far, little as it is. The article refers to this information being unverified throughout. It's just a rumour mill, they are common.

Regarding the game, I just want my nostalgia fed. I want a full 3D explorable Kanto reimagining with a national dex-esque Pokédex expansion at the end. Then I'll be happy. And isolated from the outside world.

Given how addicted to this game people already are, I can see a handheld version ruining a few marriages. Can't wait.

Nintendo are killing it with the Switch but they need to step up their rewards game if they are going to charge an annual subscription like Sony or Microsoft.

That is a pretty useful piece of tech for $20, but I feel no need to use any controller other than my beautiful Splatoon pro controller.

I love games like Splatoon that take the tried and tested method of team shooters and turn it on its head. I have no interest in by the numbers shooters any more.

..except for Doom. I would like more Doom please.

I don't want a COD port. I'm not too pushed on COD in general, but the ports suck. Lest we forget BO3 on 360/PS3..

That was one of my favourite games last year. For my money a good original exclusive should have beaten some of the ports in the list.

I never had much faith in the accuracy of gyro controls until I tried the archery in BOTW. If a shooter could pull that off I would be sold.

I loved DOOM on Switch. There's still a great novelty of playing an FPS like this handheld. And what a soundtrack to boot, glad they're focusing on the audio issues, they really pull you out of the game.

You're right there. Going back to them there's nothing there worth revisiting if there's no nostalgia factor. Nintendo has all the platformers of this kind it needs.

I've been waiting for a good horror game on Switch, I'll definitely check this one out.

Also, I lost it when that kid leveled herself in the trailer.
