Published by Portsmouth-based, family-friendly studio Outright Games, Crayola Scoot is a four-player co-op game heading to Switch later this year which asks you to pull off tricks to splash as much colour around as you can.
Primarily aimed at a younger audience, Crayola Scoot aims to encourage kids to get involved in social, creative, and competitive play. To be the champion in this game, you’ll need to beat the Scoot Legends in a series of events such as Splatter Tag, Trick Run, and a new twist on the classic game of S.C.O.O.T. If you wish, you can also grab your friends for a split-screen colour clash, with a four-player option making for a lovely party atmosphere.
The official press release for the game states that "bigger stunts mean more colour – and in Crayola Scoot, colour can change the world in impossible ways." Here's a list of features you can expect to find in the game:
Features:
• Create your own Crayola Scoot character and start your journey to becoming scooter legend
• Perform insane tricks and jumps to splash your colour and activate traps, boosts and shortcuts
• Upgrade your scooter and your rider’s style as you rise to fame and challenge for the championship
• Keep it fresh with 6 team and solo events including Colour Frenzy, Crazy Crayon, Splatter Tag. S.C.O.O.T and Trick Run
• Challenge the outrageous Scoot Legends for the Crayola Colour Cup on 12 parks across 3 worlds
• Splat your friends in 4-player split-screen battles

Crayola Scoot launches on Nintendo Switch and other platforms on 26th October, becoming Crayola's first video game in a very long time indeed. We'll keep an eye out for more details on this one as they arrive.

I...I don't know what to think of this....
Could be good?
If my girlfriend sees the name "Crayola", she'll likely try to persuade me to buy this, but let her not know about this game's existence...

@6ch6ris6 I'm with you, bro...
Instantly outclassed by Splatoon. There's no chance anyone will even see this.
A scooter stunt game? In this day and age?
I thought all the kids were on Heelys and Segboards now.
@ThatNyteDaez
The visual identity is somewhat different, and the core gameplay is more akin' to something like Tony Hawk's Pro Skater.
While the modes about painting the field and moving faster/slower in your/enemies paint is straight up borrowed from Splatoon, this game doesn't seem to feature an online mode at all, going instead for 4-player split screen. The latter of which Splatoon is lacking.
So this is for a different crowd, I would say.
It's rather naff that it's the same pink splodge of paint repeated all the time.
Third Party Splatoon ?
Outright ripoff more like. Gameplay differences aside, the aesthetics were lifted from Splatoon.
They even used the term "keep it fresh".
C'mon.
That tagline.... I was so excited.
MY EYES
Not sure about this, I would absolutely LOVE a graffiti game. New York, photorealistic, online competitive play to become an All City King....
@KIRO That sounds pretty cool - someone needs to make that.
I think it's cool to see so many games borrowing from Splatoon. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery after all.
Why is Crayola licensing their name to this exactly? Or are they?
When I first saw this tagline and screenshot, it reminded me of a tv commercial using characters riding on crayons for RoseArt.

"Why just color when you can glide? Geeleze super smooth crayons... "
Honestly? I feel like there's potential. A skating-ish game combined with Splatoon's color mechanics could make for an interesting game.
>and a new twist on the classic game of S.C.O.O.T.
Would someone care to inform me what "S.C.O.O.T." is? The only result I'm finding online is "Split Cycle and Offset Optimisation Technique", and I'm guessing that's not it.
If you compare it Splatoon, everybody will expect a $59 USD worth of game. That may not be the case so probably many will enjoy it!
A Splatoon rip-off being made by someone Crayola hired? Can't wait to see this train-wreck in action frame by frame.
This sounds more in-depth than it has the right to.
