Overcooked! All You Can Eat, the manic multiplayer chef sim from Team 17, is soon to receive a huge update to celebrate World Food Day. Adding a whole host of tasty new features and characters, the update will be coming to Switch in but a few short days on October 12th.
In a recent news post from the studio, Team 17 shared everything that we can expect to find in the update, with ingredients ranging from a pinch of new biomes, a twist of additional obstacles and a healthy dose of new accessibility features to finish it off - buon appetito.
On top of this, the update will add three new chefs - Fox (adorable), Globe (terrifying) and a new Goldfish skin - and two new recipes for curry and bobotie. All of this will have to be navigated around a delivery driver mechanic, whose pesky bag will take up valuable worktop space - as if the game wasn't hectic enough already!

A game that keeps on giving ... reasons to break up with your partner.
Is this coming to people who bought the standalone versions as well or is this another free update that’s only for the bundle edition?
Question : What do you make of this upcoming update?
Me : I thought All You Can Eat version was the ultimate version with everything in one disc, but I was wrong. 😟
I was thinking my PS4 storage when the update coming.
It's insane that Overcooked keeps getting more and more content. I'd love to see some sales data for the games.
I love this little series, so I'm glad it's clearly found an audience.
@Ogbert For the "bundle" edition only I would presume. But I think you're underselling it. It's a remake of the first game. It's not just two games bundled together. I highly recommend it
@Scapetti Either way, if you already own both Overcooked games there is no point in buying the bundle. Even if you have one of the two games already it's value is debatable.
Overcooked was great at giving out extra DLC, but since they put out the bundle it's mostly been exclusive to that. It feels like a real kick in the teeth to those of us who supported them at launch.
The All You Can Eat version gets cheap enough with sales that it is worth getting if you plan to keep playing it... It will probably be cheap enough at times to warrant a purchase just for the exclusive DLC.
All You Can Eat is definitely the version to get as the original has some glaring issues and progress can be very difficult and the fun ends fast. It is too bad that play-testing didn't reveal these issues earlier, so they could be corrected in the original versions.
Also annoying is that there is now the original game, the sequel, a Season Pass, a Gourmet edition, and All You Can Eat.
At this point, I feel like all versions other than All You Can Eat should be unavailable for purchase so new buyers don't get burned.
@HolyGeez03 I'd rather just pay a small amount for the DLC than buy both games again in one package to access it. Either way I'm paying for the free DLC but the one way I at least don't loose all my progress and records.
Or alternatively for a discounted fee let me upgrade to the All You Can Eat Edition.
@Ogbert If you already own the earlier games, what I was saying doesn't apply... I was saying that the earlier games should stop being available for purchase and all buyers going forward would just get the All You Can Eat version.
@Ogbert It might be worth contacting the developers if you have purchased both 1 and 2 and now have no way to get the upcoming DLC without additionally purchasing All You Can Eat.
It is possible that they will help out in some way... I once purchased a game on Steam, which was a very simple game but had major performance issues... Steam refused to refund me but the game devs sent me a code to download on Switch.
@HolyGeez03 ah misunderstood your original post sorry, thought you were saying it was still worth buying it! I'm not sure it's worth pestering the devs about, if enough people give feedback to their community teams maybe they will do something but I'm not going to look for anything more direct.
@Ogbert I felt the same way. I was disappointed that they felt the need to remake 1+2 and bundle them together instead of producing a new game. That’s why I waited for a sale to get the remaster. I greatly appreciate that it has crossplay multiplayer so I can play with everyone.
I have the first 2 games digitally. Now I feel compelled to buy All You Can Eat to get the full experience.
This time I'll get the physical copy and delete the other to free up some space.
