Re: New Report Claims Coronavirus Will Cause Switch Shortages In The US And Europe

While we're on the subject of illnesses, influenza has already led to almost 15,000 deaths and over 200,000 hospitalizations in the US alone this flu season. Wash your hands and cough into your elbows, you filthy mongrels.
I also know 3 folks that have received packages from Wuhan in the past 10 days via Amazon purchases.

@Profondo Just stay calm, you'll be fine. Also, novel Coronavirus is certainly not the 'worst global pandemic of recent times'.

Re: Switch Production Has Been Impacted By The Coronavirus Outbreak, Admits Nintendo

@thesilverbrick To be fair, that’s a higher mortality rate than the Spanish Flu in 1918. But a counterpoint to that is modern medicine. Another counter(counter?)point to that is the hesitance to work with other country’s infectious disease teams. So it’s all a mess.

It makes sense that production is going to be affected, but hopefully it won’t cause too much lasting damage economically. Hopefully the virus is contained well enough that the 9-12 months for a vaccine doesn’t get worse.

@alpacatears Doesn’t matter if the publication is based in Somewheristan, the local laws apply. The chance that folks may react to something in poor taste should never influence whether something is discussed or disseminated for public discourse, as well. Acting in that manner only allows for a select few (the deciders) to become the arbiters of what can and cannot be talked about in a society.
People have always been awful, just as much as people have always been great.

Re: Studio Behind Sonic Movie's Redesign Has Reportedly Been Shut Down

@rjejr Exactly. People thinking this has something to do with a singular project truly don’t understand how a business works. You don’t employ 800 people for one project at a time. If you do, this is what happens. You have to constantly market your business to drum up projects so there’s always something in the pipeline, while managing expenses against income. This is the same reason it takes years for a small business to become sustainably profitable.
