Re: GameStop To Stay Open During COVID-19 Outbreak Because It Is 'Essential Retail'

HobbitGamer

It sucks for the employees, for sure. Ya know what else sucks for the employees? People going into the store during this.

Let’s be real, folks. GameStop wouldn’t keep the stores open if sales suddenly dropped off. Instead of just going online and complaining about it, or trying to rationalize unwarranted exposure because “business”, help out your fellow gamers by convincing them to be safer and stay out of the stores right now.

Re: Nintendo Responds To Cancellation Of E3 2020, Says It Will Consider "Various Ways" To Engage With Fans

@rjejr Yah, I knew where ya were coming from cuz last night from 8-930pm ET is was just bam, bam, bam.
It all needs to calm down. Folks need to wash themselves and take care of the elderly. Things folks should have already been doing. There's no shortage of regular soap, I've noticed. And no matter who is in charge of what country, state, town, province; They're not there to wash everyone. This is a civilized society in most areas that are freaking out. It's time we act civilized.

Re: No Link Between Violent Video Games And Violent Behaviour, Says American Psychological Association

@TeslaChippie @Cosats Murder is illegal, but still happens. Because people willing to commit murder are not concerned about the consequences. Guns, knives, vehicles, poisons, rocks; It's a matter of bad people committed to doing bad things, no matter what the implement. Gun ownership is high in the US, but there are also far more geographical differences between coasts. Preventing citizen A from purchasing a firearm for his property that is in a wooded hill 80 miles from the nearest town, in hopes that citizen B will not use a firearm in a firearm-restricted area in his urban environment; That's not a common sense approach.

Re: Ring Fit Adventure Sales Rapidly Increase In China Due To The Coronavirus Outbreak

HobbitGamer

@Cosats Just searching "china ring fit adventure" in Google brings up 7 other websites that feature an article about an increase in sales for the title while cities in China are under quarantine. This isn't clickbait or using an illness to sell a product; These are articles showing a correlation between a densely populated geographical area that has had folks' daily routines entirely disrupted and resulted in large numbers of people not even going outside, and the scarcity of a video game that just happens to allow indoor exercise.
Also, not every story regarding Covid is required to show reverence to those affected. Is it awful, this illness? Absolutely. It's always awful when people are negatively affected by something. But just like there isn't a bunch of articles regarding the 16,000 influenza deaths reported for this season in the United States alone, this is not something that's needed nor even pertinent to this particular article.
There is more than a single tweet for this story. Reading the article and noting that there is more source material shows that. I'm not really sure what you mean by poor writing, because the whole thing seems coherent to me.
But, to each their own, I suppose.
