Holy crap!!!! It felt like only a year ago was the 25th. I can't believe next year is the 30th anniversary!

Big DBZ fan, but I'll probably wait until I can find this used or at least cheaper.

I don't know how I feel about the whole mobile/home console. It just sounds like a gimmick. How about nintendo just makes a straight forward up to date tech with other systems. No gamepad, no take it on the go, that is what the handheld are for. Just a good old fashion game console. Nintendo hasn't had one of those since the Gamecube....

I feel like it would make more sense to bring it to the NX. Which is hard for me to say because it is easily one of my favorite games of all time

I'd love to be able to get A Link Between Worlds for that cheap. They need to bring these as retail to America.

@Darknyht Skyward Sword is a pretty bad example, because that game is definitely worth full price.

I'll admit it. One thing that Nintendo does terribly in comparison to its competitors is the pricing of "game deals" or older games. You go to your local target or walmart and find the Nintendo section. Even go as far as looking for an older Wii game. Bet you there is a Nintendo published or developed game for over $50 still.

(Edit) And then proceed to the PS3 aisle and see the loads of $20 or below games.

@electrolite77 Again I still firmly believe that Fallout 4 will outsell the new Call of Duty. Call of Duty may out sell it for the first month maybe 2, but I almost guarantee that the lifetime sales will be better for Fallout 4.

@electrolite77 To be honest I bet you that Fallout 4 outsells Call of Duty: Nothing New to See Here by a long shot! Why do people support Call of Duty anymore. The one that pushed the envelope was World at War. And how long ago was that?

I am a huge fan of the Metroid Prime series and I never got a chance to play this. I have tried many times to find it on Amazon or Gamestop cheap, but I never could. Plus gamestop ripped me off once and sold me a Metroid Prime: Hunters (First Hunt) for like $10. For those of you who don't know First Hunt was the demo that came with many orIginla DS systems.

This one was good but I really want the far superior Tecmo Super Bowl on virtual console. Greatest sports game of all time!

I agree with mostly everything on this list expect for the fact that Super Mario Sunshine is on it at all, let alone above New Super Mario Bros., 3D Land, and the original. Just no.

Tecmo Bowl all the way! Still the greatest series of sports games ever made. I would rather play any Tecmo Bowl game over the newest Madden game any day.

@ningeek185 When you consider the price of some amazing bundles for PS4 and XboxOne that have like 3-4 games and then this which only has 1 game with it..... so yeah yeah around or a little over $200 for this bundles seems completely reasonable.

$299? I was actually considering this but maybe if it was more around the ball park of $200.

You rarely ever see this at all in the media for movies, games, etc. I'm surprised they could keep that underwraps for so long before some website could leak it, but revealing that when it is "near completion" is pretty astounding in today's world.

I will definitely get this but it is really hard not to see it as just a level creation tool even. I get you can play other people's levels and there are levels that come with it but the biggest draw comes from making the levels.

Is this similar to those games that Pokemon Conquest is based off of?

IGN just gave this an awful review. Nintendo life should just stop beating around the bush and give it a score. The thing I hate most is that people are hating on Nintendo for this. Sure they published it but they didn't develop it. There is a gigantic difference between the two.

Seems like a pretty natural fit to me. Although I hope he won't be the only character taken from this ballot if in fact this is true.

Super Mario Land was the first video game I ever played. I still play it o re tty frequently on my 3DS. Easily one of my favorite Mario platformers.

I thought it might have been April fools day when I first saw this article! It's about time! I'm pretty confident the NX will get it. But I am 100% sure this is not coming to Wii U. Are you serious? "Hoping beyond hope". That's right!

@blackice85 Wow you're right! I looked up that Shiness game. I like the art style. Reminds me of the reboot of Thundercats that happened a few years ago.

Font of the title aside, I really miss these classic "cartoony" adventure platformers from the PS2 and GCN era. These games used to be churned out all the time and now we don't get any of them anymore. Everyone wants the dark, gritty, and hyper realistic games that don't have any imagination or artistic desire to them. I miss Crash Bandicoot, Sly Cooper, Spyro, Ty the Tasmanian Tiger, Jak and Daxter, Klonoa, or even Scooby Doo games. I could go on and on. The only surviving game series that is still getting made in the vein of these games that I can think of is Ratchet and Clank.

Is it just me or is the font and style of the word "Kay" on the game box look super familiar?

Make it powerful and convenient for 3rd party devs.

I remember seeing this at gamestop years ago and I had never played a Star Fox game before. So of course I picked it up. Easily one of the most disappointing games I have ever played. I'm glad that this game didn't ruin the series for me, because I eventually ended up getting Star Fox 64 3D later and enjoyed it. If only we could get a realistic and more gritty looking Star Fox game some day. What Metroid Prime did for the Metroid series is exactly what Star Fox needs. a complete re-imagining.

I first saw this and scrolled past and had to double take.... It sounds cliché but yeah "it all seemed very sudden." I know that others including me as of late have kind of been giving Nintendo crap for their "subpar" E3, but there is no doubt this man lead Nintendo in such a great way! I will be miss seeing his face on Nintendo Directs and at E3. This came at a terrible time for Nintendo, when they are preparing a new home console. It is sad he will never get to see how successful, yes, successful the "NX" will be. I have faith Nintendo. I am sorry I doubted you. #DoitforIwata

It better be close to the power of the PS4 or goodbye third party support for the 3rd, arguably 4th system straight. Nintendo cannot afford to be a let down this time or it is also goodbye Nintendo as a home console making company.

Someone just put the Wii U down already and get it over with. The "NX" can't come out soon enough!

@khululy That is not true. And you do know you can play online games with people muted? Practically every game that has online multiplayer had that option. A lot of games are an absolute blast to play online. Mario Kart games especially! This is also your opinion and mine. There are obviously a lot of people who love playing online today, so not giving people a solid option like this for a console today is mindless.

@arrmixer What I am most concerned about is the graphical power of the NX, which is another I have seen Nintendo execs put down before. This is nothing to joke around about. If the NX isn't at least as powerful as the PS4, then this might very well be the last Nintendo home console we will ever see.

@Akira_1975 Exactly! I haven't tried myself yet, but can only imagine how immersive it is. "Playing catch up". A phrase that Nintendo is pretty darn familiar with since the GCN days.

@VeeFlamesNL I'm not saying people like them anymore. I'm saying that motion controls saved and sold the Wii. End of story. Without that, it would have failed. So if VR sells like hotcakes and Nintendo has nothing to show for it but putting it down then the NX could be in trouble.

@Everly Perfect example how the "Top Men" at Nintendo are so ignorant of the "times". I have heard Reggie and Miyamoto several times say how online games really aren't that fun and "we could implement if we wanted to, but we don't see the use". It is thinking like that, that solidifies the fact that we need new men in charge at Nintendo because they have their mindset caught in the late 80's and 90's.

Well Nintendo as a whole better hope he is write, because if that suddenly explodes like motion controls did, it will leave the NX in the dust.....

I definitely could see Nintendo continuing Wii U support after NX is announced, but as a family console. If the Nintendo Direct didn't scream "cute and cuddly" or "family friendly" then you weren't watching lol. Nintendo usually is more family friendly than its competition but this was just ridiculous. No edgy titles shown at all. Nothing above T rating, maybe not even E. Fire Emblem is all I can think of....

@nathatruc Amen. Although I read in another article that they are actually creating the new engine for the NX. I feel like Retro Studios is the "I" in team at Nintendo. They are more in touch with the times than Nintendo itself is. They also didn't want to show Retro's project because it is an NX launch window game. I'm calling it now. I mean it makes no sense to release a AAA Retro Studios title on the sinking ship that is the Wii U.

@Quorthon It is such a shame to see stuff like this. This is what makes developers think twice before releasing games on a Nintendo system. Think of how much wasted time and effort were put on it, if it doesn't even end up getting released!

I can't wait to see him go back on these statements next year and confirm that Zelda is coming to the NX. They just want the fans calmed down. Basically like a parent letting a child know in the kindest way possible that their pet dog is dying.

@rjejr I'm still scratching my head on why they wouldn't show something from Devil's third..... The one edgy title coming to Wii U that could diversify it and they give it the cold shoulder.
I could definitely see Devil's Third being one if those games that announces it will also come to Xbox One and PS4. I mean, you would have to be absolutely nuts to make this game only on Wii U.
