I've never played through any of the games in this series, but definitely looking to start with this. Can you get the sequel from GBA on the 3DS eshop?
I've definitely found significant input lag while playing Super Mario World. Donkey Kong Country however, played fine. Still looking to try the others out.
@delt75 I'm thinking of doing the same, in case I do happen to brick mine, which I have heard tends to happen.
The 21 games that come with are fantastic, but they are seriously missing some greats like Chrono Trigger, Turtles in Time, the last 2 DK Country games, a sports game like NBA Jam or perhaps Tecmo Bowl, Earthworm Jim, and Actraiser, just to name a handful.
And any of these could have replaced Kirby's Dream Course or Supee Ghouls and Ghosts and I don't think anyone would have minded.
I still don't believe it, but yes, I was lucky enough to grab one. I rewlly hope the follow through on their promises and stock enough for everyone that didn't get one. It's an awesome little device.
So obviously it's main purpose is for Street Fighter II. And I saw your tidbit on how it plays well on other games, but for some reason it seems like the button layout would be weird for any other game on the SNES Classic. Considering getting it for the wireless alone though.
Holy crap! I got one you guys!!!! I'm still in disbelief. It feels like I caught a Mewtwo with a pokeball.
I honestly also felt really bad for some of those that I saw get to the store maybe even 5 minutes after it had opened, because the line had already been formed and they were out of luck. Definitely felt their pain last year.
Also, some guy had the nerve to say he wanted 3. Everybody looked back with this "Are you serious?" look on their faces. It's people lile you, that are the problem!
Brilliant! I have been waiting a long time to be able to play the original Arcade version of Mario Bros. at my house! Countless quarters lost in that arcade machine.
I've heard of VS Super Mario Bros., but what exactly is it? Is it just a dual screen race of the original Super Mario Bros.?
Really really hoping I can get one Friday morning, since the 5 sites I signed up for email updates on never informed about when preorders opened in time.
@UmbreonsPapa I definitely always been in the camp of "Gameplay over Graphics", but when I have 2 systems that can play the same game, espeically one one system gets a game I really really want at launch months before my preferred console, it comes down to price and performance. So with the Switch version more than likely not running as smoothly as on PS4 and with it more than likely being the same price, even though it's coming out months later, it makes it pretty difficult to decide
I'm so conflicted on this. I have been and always will be a huge Nintendo fan and always love to support Nintendo when there is a multiplat game, but I have a PS4 as well and the fact that yes it sounds like DOOM runs extremely well, all things considered, but it still isn't at it's best.
So if they are asking for the same price for the Switch version as they are for the PS4, then I'm probably out. And when it comes to Wolfenstein II, which I am thoroughly looking forward too, it comes out a few months later. So I have to ask myself. Is it worth waiting 3 or so more months, paying the same full price, and having it underperform, compared to if I got the PS4 version?
I think people are really ignorant when they brush this off for being 30fps. The fact that you can have this game on the go is absolutely ridiculous. I would have never imagined being able to play a game of this caliber on the go, even a year ago. Bravo Nintendo and bravo Bethesda for making this possible.
How long does it usually take until we will have the results for NA? Really curious how well it sold. I preordered it and also got the Samus Edition New 3DS XL
I think not considering Black and White 2 as "enhanced versions"... is kind of bogus. They may have a different story, but they are certainly enhanced versions of Black and White.
I'm going to be so so frustrated if I don't end up getting one. I never got the NES Classic and it doesn't look like my chances for this are boding well either.
I'll never forget driving around for hours, jumping from store to store on the day that the NES Classic came out last year and having absolutely zero luck.
Now everyone, please support this game!! It is easily one of the best IPs Nintendo has created in years. Believe the hype. This is good old fashioned Nintendo magic at work.
This may be a very stupid question and I have never imported games or consoles before, mainly because I've feared them not functioning on an American console. I'm sure the UK ones work in the US, but would there be any type of restrictions for the Super Famicom here in the US, as far as working on a US TV.
@CheezIt Breath of the Wild says hello lol. Literally more BotW carts were sold, than Switches were, And by quite a bit at that. I was actually one of those, for about a month anyway. I knew i would get BotW regardless, so I bought it, but still couldn't get a switch for a few weeks later.
@OorWullie Why would you want Forces to flop? It could end up being a very great game! Not to mention, why can't we have both?? I mean look at Mario. They make the New Super Mario side scrolling games and have the Galaxies and 3D Worlds to complement it. Heck, take Metroid for a recent example. A new Metroid Prime (first person) game was announced, along side the announcement of a more classic, back to Metroid's roots, side scrolling game.
This is great! I can't wait! I got the original 3DS at launch and have been waiting until the time was right to upgrade and now is the time. Great price point and bigger screen. I'll probably get it right alongside the launch of Metroid: Samus Returns. It would be great if a special edition came out for that, especially when you consider that the interchangeable faceplates aren't compatible with this. No biggy though.
Between this, the SNES Classic that just got announced, And the plethora of games for the Switch that just got announced, Nintendo is going to drive me broke by the the time the year ends.
Please......PLEASE!!!!!!!! Make enough Nintendo. I beg you, please. This would be quite the deal for me, because the SNES is a Nintendo console I haven't played many games from. Super Metroid and Super Mario World and that's about it. I've been wanting to play the original Star Fox for years and now you're telling me the previously unreleased sequel will be on this thing too? SOLD..... (as long as there are enough).
Wow that looks awesome! For a second there I was thinking that it was coming with an actual reproduction of the Metroid II gameboy cart. Cool idea for a steelbook cover though!
I really kind of hope that the Kirby and Yoshi games aren't just working titles. It would be kind of nice to just reboot the titles and simply title them after the character. If it does well, then name it Kirby 2 and Yoshi 2 respectively. It would be pretty damn cool if the next Zelda was simply titled "The Legend of Zelda" and was a complete remake of the original NES game but with Breath of the Wild's engine.
Still extremely bitter about thisbwhole situation. I remember being at a game store months before 6th release and you could preorder them. Kicking myself for not doing it. I figured it would sell well, but i also figured that Nintendo would continue to stock it. I still want one very bad. Fact is, I won't ever get one .
I have a PS4 and Switch and will definitely be getting it for Switch if it ends up being both. I will be getting any multiplat if it is for Switch, for that matter.
Lol I can't wait until Xbox folds. I may have been a bit blind in the past with statements about Nintendo's naivety when it comes to console power, but they know what they are doing. They know they can't compete with PC, so they sit back and laugh as Microsoft attempts to, which is foolish. I don't understand who the Xbox One X is for? Buy a PC. Or get a PS4 because it has every game the Xbox One has and more, except for what? Gears of War and Halo lolol.
I would like Nintendo's consoles to have a little extra kick, but for now this is fine and we are getting great games that look great. I just hope the Switch has enough power to realistically feed the appetite of me and everyone else's high expectations for Metroid Prime 4's visuals.
@Ralizah Oh you bet! Preordering now. There's an awesome special edition that comes with a soundtrack CD. It's stuff like this that will forever make Nintendo the greatest videogame company ever.
There's something for the lack of a better term, "magical" about Nintendo's games when compared to other companies.
I had been trying to track this game down on Amazon or eBay for years that was in good condition and also was affordable. I'm so glad this is on eshop now. I'll definitely have to play through this before "Samus Returns" comes out for 3DS this September.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Who cares now!?? It's confirmed and that's all that matters and I think that's all most people wanted, including myself. I can patiently wait now, knowing that it is in development.
I have been on this site for years. And year in and year out around E3 I've been dreaming of Metroid Prime 4.
It's like the cubs winning the world series (okay that's maybe bit far), but honestly it was one of those things that was just fun to wish and dream about but you knew would never happened.
And today it happened.... I was shaking. I was literally shaking and thought I might faint. I can honestly say I have never been this excited for a video game in my life before.
Now that I know it's confirmed to be in development, I can patiently wait some more. So take your time and make the best and most mind-blowing game we've ever seen.
Okay and I can't be the only one now that is wondering. What in the world is Retro Studios working on, if it wasn't this????
It's either F-Zero or an entirely new IP.
Unfortunately still like the NES Classic for me......I wish I could find one. I still have yet to even see an NES Classic box in person and let me tell you I have scoured every location around me multiple times on a regular basis. I also periodically check Amazon in vain that they are in Stock. What a joke.
Mario, Zelda, Metroid, etc. games will be made for Sony and Microsoft systems in the next 10 years. This system just can't compete with the other consoles. The battery life is a huge issue as well. I have also been reading that there are huge frame rate drops.
I will still end up getting it, but now it will be a lot later than I originally planned. I still would have rather had them just make a console like the GameCube. I have a 3ds for portable gaming. I just want a straight forward home console. No gimmicks. Just good old, sit on the couch with a regular controller and a console that doesn't have to sit in a dock.
Let's just hope this sells well, if not this will more than likely be the last home console from Nintendo.
I got Resident Evil 7 for PS4 last week. As a long time RE fan, I am totally loving it. It is a great step in the right direction much like RE4 was.
Now the trick is to not go dip into the problems that RE5 and RE6 made after the innovation of RE4's 3rd person perspective.
I would like another FPS like RE game, just keep it scary and similar to RE's roots like this one was.
It's games like this that I would much rather support then on a Nintendo console but Nintendo generation in and generation out always ate underpowered and it keeps these AAA games away from their consoles.

Of course they release this just after I finally get a new 3DS XL. That's how it always goes.
Re: Review: Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions (3DS)
@Dogorilla Yep that definitely answered my question. Thank you! I honestly didn't know that the sequel was on DS. I thought the first 2 were on GBA.
Re: The Inevitable SNES Classic Mini Hack Is Now Complete
@In_Ex_Fan Completely agree! I was about to say the same. They are basically endorsing it.
@impurekind uhhh... calm down there bud.

Donkey Kong Country however, played fine. Still looking to try the others out.
Re: The Inevitable SNES Classic Mini Hack Is Well Underway
@delt75 I'm thinking of doing the same, in case I do happen to brick mine, which I have heard tends to happen.
The 21 games that come with are fantastic, but they are seriously missing some greats like Chrono Trigger, Turtles in Time, the last 2 DK Country games, a sports game like NBA Jam or perhaps Tecmo Bowl, Earthworm Jim, and Actraiser, just to name a handful.

Re: Hardware Review: Wireless Fighting Commander for SNES Classic By Hori
So obviously it's main purpose is for Street Fighter II. And I saw your tidbit on how it plays well on other games, but for some reason it seems like the button layout would be weird for any other game on the SNES Classic.
Considering getting it for the wireless alone though.
