Re: Japanese Charts: Fire Emblem: Three Houses' Dominance Continues With Another Number One

Gridatttack

@Tao I have to agree a bit here.
I sort of just want to tackle on battles, but I have to go around in the monastery instead.
I haven't tried the auto instruct things, and it seems there's a skip button to the next story battle.
I'm pretty sure it's possible to play the game without dedicating to roaming the monastery (except when the game forces you to)

Though I sort of stopped being annoyed by it when I see that every day, the locations of most characters change, so at least is not that repetitive. I guess it feels a bit more... real? IDK. I feel it has potential, but so far I think only the monastery is the free roam area, and I think it might get boring eventually. But hey, it's a first in the series. I'm sure they can improve on the next game.

@BulbasaurusRex I think it's mostly subjective. Online is still possible with the use of homebrew, as well there is ton to play with the lot's of cool custom tracks made by the fans.

For SMK not "controlling" well, I dare to say MK8 has more annoying controls, because you really can't go far to what the game initially presents, while SMK let's you do more (even if the controls take a while to get used to) Also, more custom tracks made by users.

Re: New Super Monkey Ball Game Rated Again, This Time In South Korea

Gridatttack

Interesting. Will definitely buy it if it gets released. I'd love n HD version of Monkey Ball deluxe! Maybe they will finally port it right (and include the space music and artic music from SMB1 in the correct spots...)

@JasmineDragon while most SMB fans would tell you that Banana Blitz wasn't good, I'd beg to differ.

The first 2 entries were masterpieces, so the bar is pretty high after that, so I see where BB gets the hate.

But Banana Blitz is a cool game. While it has 50 minigames, only like what, 5 or 8 are good. But for the main game? I say it's pretty well done.

Colorful worlds, catchy music, some difficult levels here and there, and the game delivers. I like the jump mechanic because it gives you more freedom to do stuff and differentiates itself from the other game in the series with boss battles. And I also like how they are extra worlds that are unlocked similarly to the extra stages in the first 2 games.

Re: Feature: Inside The World Of Pokémon ROM Hacks

Gridatttack

Nice read! Cool to see some spotlight on the world of ROM Hacking.

Prism looks really good, so looking to play it! The last pokemon romhack I played was liquid crystal, which was pretty good! (too bad it isn't finished :<)

On the topic of C&D, the original devs have all the right to do so, but I haven't seen any Mario or Pokemon romhack get one.
However, take a look at that Chrono Trigger mod, which got C&D, so it's possible.

Re: Community: Share Your Super Mario Maker 2 Levels And Know-How Here

Gridatttack

Ok, added mine! My level is more on the traditional sense; something you could find in a standard mario game/nothing too crazy.

I added some secret areas to explore the level too and revolves in a general theme, so don't expect weird stuff 🤔
I'll be making more of these kind of levels if anyone is interested 👀

Re: You Cannot Have A Complete National Pokédex In Pokémon Sword And Shield

Gridatttack

@Ludovsky do they? Seems more to me that they removed the outline of previous games (you can see it looks similar to this game on 3DS emulators, which removed this line)

Not to mention the game's engine rendering the models to look more... clean. Though if they are indeed new animations, then it would be a lot of work, but from what I've seen so far, they have the same entry animations, and a special & physical attack animation as in previous games 🤔

Re: Sega Trademarks Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz

Gridatttack

Not what would I like, but let's be honest. People just hate on this game without actually taking a deeper look into it.

While is nowhere on the caliber of the first 2 games, this one is alright. Colorful levels, music, the game has it's good and unique points. It's after this, that future games took a landslide dip... (step n roll was disappointing, except for perhaps the music)

Wonder what they will do, but just seems to me that is more of a renovation of the trade mark, not a re release or something.

Re: Talking Point: Super Mario Maker 2 Should Finally Enable Us To Craft The Perfect Mario Mixtape

Gridatttack

I doubt it. It would be cool, but as I recall, this is to make "gimmick" levels; you really can't make quality levels like in the core games and expect it to be popular.

I think it will be like that, and the same will happen as it did with the first one.
Maybe it's a great opportunity for people who want more that they realize it is possible to edit the original games via ROM-Hacking :> (which sadly, the user base is diminishing. It's been a while since I played a great ROM hack from the core mario games)
