Well, I need to see a comparison between the PC and this, but knowing this runs well, it's a good point.
I'm sorry, I usually don't care about how it looks if it runs well in terms of performance, but I really want to play this one on the highest quality as possible. (But I will still double dip. Need my physical copy of the game anyways!)
I just hope all the DLC is relesed here too. (if they plan to make that type of DLCs)
I remember fates had unreleased DLC on the west... Barring the fan service nature of them, you could get multiple of the same items that were previously only available 1 time.
Sad to see the license expiring leading to removal of the game. Went ASAP to buy it on steam and was surprised to see it was under 4$, so it was a purchase without hesitation!
@Tao I have to agree a bit here.
I sort of just want to tackle on battles, but I have to go around in the monastery instead.
I haven't tried the auto instruct things, and it seems there's a skip button to the next story battle.
I'm pretty sure it's possible to play the game without dedicating to roaming the monastery (except when the game forces you to)
Though I sort of stopped being annoyed by it when I see that every day, the locations of most characters change, so at least is not that repetitive. I guess it feels a bit more... real? IDK. I feel it has potential, but so far I think only the monastery is the free roam area, and I think it might get boring eventually. But hey, it's a first in the series. I'm sure they can improve on the next game.
@BulbasaurusRex I think it's mostly subjective. Online is still possible with the use of homebrew, as well there is ton to play with the lot's of cool custom tracks made by the fans.
For SMK not "controlling" well, I dare to say MK8 has more annoying controls, because you really can't go far to what the game initially presents, while SMK let's you do more (even if the controls take a while to get used to) Also, more custom tracks made by users.
I'm hoping the motion schemes are available on all platforms. I'd love to play this with a traditional joystick... (I guess the steam version will be the one with that control scheme)
Interesting. Will definitely buy it if it gets released. I'd love n HD version of Monkey Ball deluxe! Maybe they will finally port it right (and include the space music and artic music from SMB1 in the correct spots...)
@JasmineDragon while most SMB fans would tell you that Banana Blitz wasn't good, I'd beg to differ.
The first 2 entries were masterpieces, so the bar is pretty high after that, so I see where BB gets the hate.
But Banana Blitz is a cool game. While it has 50 minigames, only like what, 5 or 8 are good. But for the main game? I say it's pretty well done.
Colorful worlds, catchy music, some difficult levels here and there, and the game delivers. I like the jump mechanic because it gives you more freedom to do stuff and differentiates itself from the other game in the series with boss battles. And I also like how they are extra worlds that are unlocked similarly to the extra stages in the first 2 games.
Nice read! Cool to see some spotlight on the world of ROM Hacking.
Prism looks really good, so looking to play it! The last pokemon romhack I played was liquid crystal, which was pretty good! (too bad it isn't finished :<)
On the topic of C&D, the original devs have all the right to do so, but I haven't seen any Mario or Pokemon romhack get one. However, take a look at that Chrono Trigger mod, which got C&D, so it's possible.
This is nice, I like how it provides a different aspect of it, but I wish the changes could be made optional. I guess I'll settle with the normal, airship, ice, desert and forest.
Wish the BG was an actual night version of the current theme for some of them, not just the stars.
Ok, added mine! My level is more on the traditional sense; something you could find in a standard mario game/nothing too crazy.
I added some secret areas to explore the level too and revolves in a general theme, so don't expect weird stuff 🤔 I'll be making more of these kind of levels if anyone is interested 👀
@Andyliini is there a source of this? That sounds really, really bad. After looking to Etika's farewell video he stated that he didn't had suicidal thoughts.
@Ludovsky do they? Seems more to me that they removed the outline of previous games (you can see it looks similar to this game on 3DS emulators, which removed this line)
Not to mention the game's engine rendering the models to look more... clean. Though if they are indeed new animations, then it would be a lot of work, but from what I've seen so far, they have the same entry animations, and a special & physical attack animation as in previous games 🤔
I agree Z moves and Mega Evolutions already being a balance nightmare, so I can see the removal of those.
But pokemons? Not really why is that an issue. Seems they are already reusing the models from previous games, so why not have them all like sun & moon did? (they didn't include a pokedex entry only)
Not what would I like, but let's be honest. People just hate on this game without actually taking a deeper look into it.
While is nowhere on the caliber of the first 2 games, this one is alright. Colorful levels, music, the game has it's good and unique points. It's after this, that future games took a landslide dip... (step n roll was disappointing, except for perhaps the music)
Wonder what they will do, but just seems to me that is more of a renovation of the trade mark, not a re release or something.
I have to admit, I'm surprised on the quality of these tracks. Seems like people really know how to make some good tracks. (I just remember the lots of empty, dull MKW custom tracks)
Now... I'll be down to port my SMK custom tracks and remake them on MK8DX 👀
I doubt it. It would be cool, but as I recall, this is to make "gimmick" levels; you really can't make quality levels like in the core games and expect it to be popular.
I think it will be like that, and the same will happen as it did with the first one. Maybe it's a great opportunity for people who want more that they realize it is possible to edit the original games via ROM-Hacking :> (which sadly, the user base is diminishing. It's been a while since I played a great ROM hack from the core mario games)
Well, might get it, but still, hoping one day for them to add all cards available... like, only animate the important ones.
@Heavyarms55 not really. There's a banlist for cards, so old stuff like delinquent duo and pot of greed are banned. In fact, the game is more chaos due to konami releasing more broken stuff & making the game faster, not for old cards haha

@Dawn-Shade Seems like it! Soo excited if it's indeed that!
Re: Shulk Gets Another Encore In Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition For Switch
Insta buy. I was so excited when I saw this reveal.
Finally!
Now we need XCX.

Re: The Physical Version Of Spyro Reignited Trilogy On Switch Will Require A Sizable Download
Well, I was planning on getting this on PC anyway...
Re: Yuzo Koshiro Confirms That Switch Gotta Protectors Sequel Is Coming To The West
I remember playing this on 3DS. Never finished it but I had fun on what I played!
Liked the soundtrack too!
Re: Crikey, This Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz Theme Music Is Infectious
Looking into the gameplay.... the worlds looks as expected from an HD lick of paint, but I must say, Pirate's Ocean (World 5) looks really good!
Loving the lightning! Cant wait to see the renaming worlds!

Re: Pokémon Sword And Shield Info Drop Reveals Battle Stadium, New Abilities And More
Looks nice. I liked the new animation for trickroom. Looks pretty nice!
Also liking the meta impllications the trailer revealed! Looking forward to the game more and more
Re: Get Some Extra Goodies With Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth: Complete Edition
@xmrmeow Right. So glad it finally came to Switch!
As for the question, I guess it depends. If it performs OK on the switch, I'll go with it. We'll still need to see a side by side comparison tho 🤔
Re: Get Some Extra Goodies With Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth: Complete Edition
Finally! I was really tempted to get a vita or ps4 just to play this game (among others)
Seems like this is one of the better digimon games, right?
Last one I enjoyed were the DS games.
Re: Pokémon Sword And Shield's Team Yell Sound Like A Total Nightmare, In The Best Way Possible
Interesting.
I guess my only complain from the pokemon games is that all NPCs look the same on their class.
Would be interesting to make some more templates, so you have like 4 or more variations from one trainer class.
Re: DuckTales: Remastered Is Leaving The Wii U eShop On 9th August
Sad to see the license expiring leading to removal of the game.
Went ASAP to buy it on steam and was surprised to see it was under 4$, so it was a purchase without hesitation!
Re: Review: DOOM II - It's Hell On Earth With This Devilishly Playable Switch Port
Been playing on PC. Loving it more than the original DOOM with more varied levels.
However, I've been stuck for a while in the Downtown level.

Re: This Might Be The Actual File Size For The Spyro Reignited Trilogy On Switch
Well, I was planning getting this on PC, still, why the game can't be on a single cartridge?
Re: UK Charts: Fire Emblem: Three Houses Gets Number One, Almost Doubles Awakening's Launch Sales
@Grumblevolcano can confirm.
Our local game supplier mentioned they were stock shortages. Everything available sold out on pre-sale.
Wanted to get a special edition, but by the sound of it, it would be hard...
Still, minor setbacks aside, nice to see the game is selling well.
Now to wait for the DLC...

Re: Review: Contra Anniversary Collection - Run 'N Gun Perfection
I wasn't aware this was released! Getting this ASAP.
Imagine if they somehow added Contra 4 from the DS and Rebirth... it would be the best deal!

I'm hoping the motion schemes are available on all platforms. I'd love to play this with a traditional joystick... (I guess the steam version will be the one with that control scheme)
Re: Famitsu Confirm Rumoured Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD For Switch
Also I wonder, why no Banana Splitz too? That's the only game in the franchise I haven't played. (And it even has a stage builder!)
Re: Famitsu Confirm Rumoured Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD For Switch
Cool. I'll take it. Not what I wanted, but it could be worse. (I'm looking at the 3DS game)
I guess it's time to finally beat World 10-5 after all this time...
Still hoping for an HD of Monkey Ball Deluxe 👀 (or heck, even the arcade version)
Re: Splatoon 2 Final Splatfest T-Shirts Go On Sale In Australia And New Zealand Tomorrow

Went to the US shop and they are all sold out.

Re: Super Mario Maker 2 Currently Lets You Upload Just 32 Courses
@Antraxx777 You can, not just officially.
Multiple mario games from the past have level editors to edit the original game ROM/files, and then replay them on real hardware/emulator.
Re: Police Confirm That YouTuber Desmond "Etika" Amofah Has Died

After looking to Etika's farewell video he stated that he didn't had suicidal thoughts.
Re: Feature: Behind The Scenes On Collection Of Mana And Trials Of Mana
Nice read!
Still a bit sad they didn't make trials of mana a 3 player game, since it seems its possible (there is a ROM hack that allows that)
Re: Breath Of The Wild's Sequel Came From Having Too Many DLC Ideas, Aonuma Says
Question, wasn't there supposed to be new DLC anyways? Or not anymore?
Re: Review: Collection of Mana - Expensive, But Ultimately Worth Every Penny
Picking up a physical version once it comes out.
Never played the gameboy one and I'm looking to finish the other 2 endings of trials of mana.

My switch is running out of space
Re: Banjo-Kazooie Confirmed For Smash This Fall
It's not an Echo of Duck Hunt. If you see the trailer it already has many different moves.
Re: Nintendo Announces Splatoon 2's Final Splatfest, Chaos Vs. Order
Sad to hear, but I guess I should seen it coming.
Haven't played in months, but I will surely won't miss out this one!

About time! Never played it because I heard the only decent translation was mediocre and unfinished.
Re: Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy Of The Duelist Arrives On Switch This August With Three Brand-New Trading Cards
Nice, will get it too.
Too bad players wanting to play a cyberse deck based around on code talker monsters needs like what, 3 of each of the monster and spell card?
Re: Random: Modder Makes Ganondorf A Playable Fighter In Smash Bros. 64
Of course, it's Falcondorf!
@stevenw45 it's easier to modify an existing character than overhauling huge sections of the game to add an extra character slot

Re: Sega Revives The Super Monkey Ball Series With A New Trademark In Japan
I hope it's a game in tad with the original ones and not some lame spinoff...
Here's hoping to.
Otherwise, I'll just go to the modding scene which have been pumping great custom levels for the first 2 games.
Re: Random: Game Boy Classic Super Mario Land Gets A Fan-Made DX Update
Isn't the Mario Sprite from Mario vs Donkey Kong on the GB?
Re: Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy Of The Duelist: Link Evolution Physical Edition Confirmed

Re: Cuphead Is Coming To Nintendo Switch, Thanks In No Small Part To Microsoft
Excellent news! Time to finally get it.
Feels more comfortable to play on the Switch IMO.
Re: Charmander Is Your Next Pokémon Funko Pop
Nice to see people here aren't fooled by Funkos. (If you like them, cool. They're a cheap alternative)
Nenderoids is where it is!
(Still, is cool if something get's a funko pop where it didn't had anything beforehand)
