While some digital card game enthusiasts are still hoping to see Blizzard's Hearthstone released on Nintendo's hybrid platform one day, for now, there are plenty of other alternatives to enjoy. On 20th August, fans of this genre can look forward to the release of Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution for $39.99 / €39.99.
Here's some information about the game, directly from the official announcement:
Duelists will experience more than 20 years of Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise history reliving stories from the original animated series through Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V and challenge the newest generation of Duelists from the virtual world of Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS.
As previously noted, the game will be available in both digital and physical form. If you opt with a hard copy of the game, you'll also receive three brand-new Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game (TCG) cards. These three cards include the Link Monster, Progleo, along with the Cyberse Monster Micro Coder and the Spell Card, Cynet Codec.
The game includes more than 9,000 cards, which is the most ever included in a Yu-Gi-Oh video game. For more information about this upcoming release, check out our existing post. You can also view the official game trailer below:

I'll definitely be getting this physically (like I almost always do). Hopefully I can actually transfer my real world deck into the game this time instead of just select cards.
Day one physical for me!
Insane this franchise is almost 20 years old. I tried to explain how big trading card games were to my younger cousins, they just couldn’t grasp the concept.
Depending on your point of view, the franchise is over 30 years old, as it wouldn’t exist with out the source Manga.
Isn’t this the same game available now plus Vrains? I wonder if it’s $40 digital too. It’s not a deal breaker, I’m nerd enough to pay up lol.
I have an unending love for yugioh, er, cards in general, though I haven't bought a pack in a long time (since synchros in '08) but a few x-mas' ago I needed a little pick-me-up and when I saw Yugi's face in one of the packs I knew I needed to get it, I struck a bunch of cards I can't actually use on a duel but on the bright side I keep Lemon Magician Girl in my deck now.
Nice, will get it too.
Too bad players wanting to play a cyberse deck based around on code talker monsters needs like what, 3 of each of the monster and spell card?
Why is this version of the game $20 extra? $40 for a Yugioh sim, let alone an outdated one, is insane. Oh, but you get 3 crappy promo cards if you buy physical. Woo-hoo.
Haven't bought any new Yu-Gi-Oh cards in a loooong time, so it'll be swell to have some recent cards in my collection, which is, uhhh, somewhere.
I might give the game a chance, but Hearthstone on Switch is still the best case scenario.
I have this on Xbox One and it's ok. There was a decent amount of content and it was only $20.
@graysoncharles
When I played the game back in the day it was a lot different. Fusions were hard work, but now there are synchro monsters and XYZ monsters that are brought out with ease. My opponent will have summoned three or four 3000 ATK effect monsters on their first turn, while I was just excited that I managed to bring out the Dark Magician. I completed all the character duels, but online I've only ever managed to win by using Skull Servants.
Time to build an Ojama deck.
I'd like to start playing again, but i really don't want to learn those pendulum things and those new pointy blue cards...
Super hyped for this game! Just Pre-Ordered Physical right now! It's cool as well because I play against my friends and I use a Link deck so the cards will do good in it!
well now its a guaranteed buy purely for those cards
@Dan_Dan links r super easy to learn but pendulums I can see being a pain since they r more complex.
Considering the game is roughly 30$ on the japanese eShop.... what explains this 10$ difference ? Unless this is only for the Physical version ?
Kind of funny considering the japanese version can be played 100% in english too.
...And this is exactly why I hadn't decided to get it from the Japanese eShop yet.
@GameOtaku that's one feature I miss! Was it the old DS or PSP games that let you do that?
When in doubt about a physical version, bundle free stuff like cards!
@Kisame83
Most of the games allow you to enter the code on the cards and get "one" copy of the card. To my knowledge (and memories) once you used the code you couldn't again, so for example my real world deck has 3 Vampire Sorcerors but I could only get one using that method and I'd have to search in game for 2 more.
@Heavyarms55 it's only a matter of time. I for one can't wait.
A heads up, you can buy the japanese version right now it fully supports english text. @Liam_Doolan
@GameOtaku ah, that's right. I remember now. A helpful but limiting.
