Re: Talking Point: Which Version Of Super Mario Bros. 3 Do You Prefer?

Gridatttack

NES because it has the original vision of the game; Sunset sky color in World 3 levels, World 8 number levels that have a monochrome palette, as well as other minor details. There is more variations than the other versions just skipped to implement (you see how the fortress and airship all look the same? Not on the NES version as they have individual colors that help feel them unique)

The GBA is a respectable version; the voices might be annoying, but it's the enhanced all star version with things like fixed bonus room music and E-Reader levels which are excellent.

Then SMAS version; just as the entire package, this version could have more effort put in it. I rather avoid playing this one at all. If you want to play on a TV just play the GBA one (or even better, the NES version)

Re: Splatoon 3 Sales Cause Nintendo's Shares To Surge

Gridatttack

Game been great so far; except that it seems not polished?
Or maybe the server load is too much?

Salmon run is broken for me; after finishing every time, I get a connection error. Same on the regular modes sometimes, which is annoying. Worse of all the game threatens you to ban you temporarily, and it happened yesterday :/

Re: Splatoon 3 Will Support Cloud Saves For Offline Play, According To Official Game Page

Gridatttack

Shows how poorly planned the online infrastructure was made.

The reason there is no save cloud data for online play is that currently there is no way to prevent you from restoring your save data to a previous rank (this could imply you can keep a certain rank forever or prevent falling from it)

If the game had an account system that kept player progress on a dedicated server, then this wouldn't be an issue.

Re: "Free Melee" Becomes "Save Smash" Following Nintendo's Legal Action Against Competitive Smash Bros. Event

Gridatttack

While they are both sides to this argument, I think Nintendo is partly to blame to prevent the Smash brand itself evolve to a more profitable entertainment business.

Many brands wanted to make the game more interesting, but due to continuous Nintendo sabotage, nothing was ever materialized. Nintendo just leeches off the community without letting it evolve further, keeping it with false hope that something will happen, but nothing does in the end.

I also expect people here to not care at all about this, but in the end people are just trying to have more fun with their favorite game, so I don't see why is that an issue.

And BTW, the mod doesn't come in a patch or pre-distributed ISO, it's a custom emulator that adds those features.

Re: Hands On: Is Genshin Impact The Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Clone Fans Thought It Was?

Gridatttack

@Thundertron55 same here. I dislike bows and tomes aren't fun to use for me, however, I was looking into the gacha system currency, and you can get around 30 tries each month by doing in game events and challenges. Sure, it's not that much either and the chances of getting something decent is abysmal.

However it seems the company is running events that give characters for free, so I suppose as one enjoys the game and plays it a bit every here and then, one will be fine 🤔

Re: Hands On: Is Genshin Impact The Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Clone Fans Thought It Was?

Gliding doesn't feel right. But still, instead of trying to complain again on how it looks like BotW, let's focus on how this is a mobile game!

Literally insane, like, sure, it may feel like discount BotW, but it's on mobile! And it's a free game! My only problem for this is that this might as well be a full console release.

The progression doesn't seem gated, nor are you required to spend money on trying to get better chars, so I'm not entirely sure how MiHoyo will profit from this other than the lolwaifu gacha.

VA seems decent; like, for a mobile game, this is top notch; but when comparing it to it's main inspiration in BotW, it falls short, sure. They have been times where I expect the wonkyness of BotW physics but it feels stiff, and sometimes I get the impression you can mess around with mobs with the janky physics but you cant. Also, the game is too "waifu" focused, but w/e, can't complain much on a game I didn't spend anything (yet?)

Still, exploring the vast world is pretty great on it's own, but I rather play it on PC than mobile, since on PC you can get 60fps and better graphics, which the game does looks pretty indeed. Looking forward playing coop!

Re: Genshin Impact Dev Responds To Breath Of The Wild Clone Comments, Insists It's A "Very Different" Experience

Gridatttack

Seems like people don't know what the game format is even about.

The game is a gacha game. Sure, they are micro transactions to buy currency to attempt to get better characters, but as long as the game is playable with what the game gives you with time, it's fine.

Also, gacha games are never meant to be completed/100%
Think of it as a marathon (or like Animal Crossing). You play a bit each day, get rewards for doing missions (which these rewards could give you items/currency to attempt to try to get better chars/weapons that might not be completely necessarily if you want to play casually)

The game is ramping up to have a lot of active players, so expect new content to be added for the game to last for years.

Re: Random: Can You Hear That? Sounds Like Super Mario Galaxy 2 Music In 3D All-Stars

Gridatttack

@KnightsTemplar I suppose I can say the same thing to you. I'm simply expressing my disagreement of Nintendo decisions.

Sounds to me you should chill instead and stop assuming things. Never have I stated or intended that my opinion is "all that matters", nor that the Wii is the "best console", and calling ignorant by what points? I suggest you instead try to understand different viewpoints and not think having a different opinion attacks yours directly, neither only center on your "own" because as stated, not everyone will agree with you on everything 😜

I may like Nintendo and all but I'm not going the Nintendrone route and defend everything they do is perfect.
I already told you that I don't mind Galaxy 2 itself being released, because more people can play it; it's just the practice on how Nintendo is doing it with 3D Allstars that I don't agree.

Re: Random: Can You Hear That? Sounds Like Super Mario Galaxy 2 Music In 3D All-Stars

Gridatttack

@KnightsTemplar that's just your opinion on the Wii being worthless; pretty sure not everyone agrees with that statement.

And yes, for once, I agree with you: the Wii is a gimmick, but it has some cool games that don't require the wiimote gimmick.

And for the record, seems like you didn't read at all my original comment. My original comment was about how I won't buy Galaxy 2 if it's DLC only, but never I did mentioned I won't buy 3D Allstars at all, so no sure how you came up with that 😜

Re: Random: Can You Hear That? Sounds Like Super Mario Galaxy 2 Music In 3D All-Stars

Gridatttack

@KnightsTemplar how misunderstood you are. Wii stuff is relevant still, it's an accessible console with great games with how cheap it is nowadays and not everyone sells their console.

You keep mentioning a "pride" battle. It's not about that but rather the poor situation Nintendo is on dealing with this game.

However, based on your replies I doubt you even understand/know about this, so whatever, keep it to yourself.

And for the record, I do have preordered Allstars too, so sounds to me you have nothing more to say in the argument other than baseless stuff to try to look smart

BTW, I'm not against Nintendo releasing galaxy 2 as DLC either; it would be better if more people had the chance to play it.

Re: Random: Can You Hear That? Sounds Like Super Mario Galaxy 2 Music In 3D All-Stars

Gridatttack

@AgentGuapo not needed.

I'm more annoyed at the thing that is a limited release. If they release galaxy as a stand alone game with no limit on when you can buy it, then cool, but making it a limited time DLC, along with owning a limited available time game seems silly. (and for those who purchase it, when the switch eshop closes down, you won't be able to redownload it in case something happens to your switch)

Re: Random: Can You Hear That? Sounds Like Super Mario Galaxy 2 Music In 3D All-Stars

Gridatttack

@KnightsTemplar no need too. I already have it on the wii, whereas the other games will always be available in the cart. No point in buying something that will later be unobtaniable (but it doesn't really matters in the end, since by the end of the lifespan of the switch, the console will likely be easy to mod, so as long as the internet is up one might get the game via other means)

It would have been nice getting all the games in one, nice package, don't you think?

Re: Rumour: Super Monkey Ball Announcement Coming Later This Month

Gridatttack

After all, I'm really excited to hear more about this! The announcer has dropped some hints, but I'm not able to guess how the game might function, but it gives me vibes that it's like a freenium game, which I really hoppe it's not the case.

Here's hoping to! I still have on my roadmap to make custom levels for the gamecube title, and a new game would be cool!
